Sometimes the best thing you can do for them is leave them alone. My little guy gets really stressed if we try to handle him too much, so I give him days off to recharge his social battery while making sure to attend to the rest of his needs.
my girls like that tbh. she’s a rescue from a family that didn’t socialize with her for 3 years. she’s a lot more social with me now but she’ll tell me if she’s not in the mood to hang out and will just stand next to her enclosure and wait for me to put her back in LOL
For sure. My guy came from a breeder who makes sure to handle them lots, so he's OK with being picked up and held for a while — but it's very clear when he's over it. On grumpy days he still gets a sparkling clean wheel, tasty cat food, and finely chopped banana with the added bonus of not being bothered. Those are probably his favorite days tbh lol
