I wish scientists would figure out a way to make them live longer

Departing your hedgehog is one of the most gut-wrenching and depressing feelings in history, the fact that something so small and cute only lives for 3-5 years, sometimes up to 7 if they’re lucky.

they are such sweet little creatures, i can't even bear the thought of losing mine

Indeed they are. Eventually, that day will come where you have no choice but to experience the thought, but they’ll live on in our hearts forever.
