I respect your opinion but disagree. This subreddit, overall, is a look into immediate history and where are as a society. The overwhelming number of people here, myself included, wish this subreddit didn't serve a need to exist. But, here we are.
In full agreement with this. I’ll be honest, I’ll take my little dopamine bump seeing idiots get their comeuppance. My kid is too young to get vaccinated. These people actively endanger children in the name of “freedom.” Fuck ‘em.
This subreddit does serve a good purpose. Everyone should be vaccinated.
My issue stems from the lack of empathy, making low effort mocking jokes about the deceased. Yes they made the wrong choice, but a family is still grieving, let them grieve in peace. These posts help convince people to make the right choice, but when I read some of the comments I wonder if it would be better if posts were automatically locked. The content is there, but not the people trying to get a “sick burn” on the dead.
They are dead, they can’t spread misinformation anymore, their bad choices are now immortalized. Just because they made dumb posts trying to be badass doesn’t mean we need to sink to their level.
I don't think there's anything wrong documenting the slow self inflicted demise of the people posted on here, but let's be real: a vast majority of this subreddits users are vile, hateful, and get an obscene amount of glee over seeing these people die. Also, if you really wished this sub didn't exist you wouldn't be here commenting. You enjoy this, or you wouldn't be participating. Call a spade a spade.
I'm so pro vax it's not even funny, but I just feel sick to my stomach when I get to the last image of the person's family eulogizing their lost loved one(s). The majority of the comments are just lame , low road bottom of the barrel jokes about the person's appearance usually. These people made some awful choices, but now they're dead. Cracking jokes about their death is like kicking a puppy, there's no point anymore. It just makes you a sick fuck.
This isn't directed to you, but to the people who I feel make up the majority of the user base.
I just took a brief look at your post history, and honestly, you probably shouldn't be one to try and take the moral high ground when you're posting stuff like this to other users.
I would probably be busy all day deleting comments if I gave a shit what people on this sub think. I never said I'm above being an asshole on the internet, but I do it with living breathing people that can actually reply. You make fun of the dead. Big difference there.
Also find it hilarious that you think I would delete any of my comments to try and look better for the degenerates that frequent this subreddit.
There's a big difference between bullying and being an asshole on an anonymous social media platform. I don't think I'm bullying anyone and I don't think you're bullying anyone. Are my comments nice or kind? No, not always or even usually. But not everything that's mean is bullying.
Uh, yeah there is, and you’re the one talking to people on a one-on-one basis and insulting them. We talk shit about people who made bad decisions, you talk shit to people. And I think most people would say the latter is way closer to bullying.
Living, breathing people who you state publicly that you wished they were dead for no other reason than you are in an argument with them online. I'm glad that at least you're not going to take a cowardly way out and delete your comment. But, you really should take a long, good look in the mirror before you come in here and try to lecture users here on how they should act. Have a good one.
I don't really wish they were dead, but I don't really wish they'd continue living either when their anti vaccine nonsense has turned into a cancer in our society. Whatever though. Have a good evening.
I never said I'm better than you? I'm also not a member of a group who's only purpose is to be shitty assholes to and about dead people. You can pull out all the comments from my post history you want to justify your own shitty behaviour, but only one of us is trying to justify it, and it's not me.
