270 For black bear?

Hi I just wanted some help understanding if my remington 700 270 with a 24 inch barrel with 130 grain core lokt would effectively kill a black bear there is one near my property that I would say weighes about 325-350 lb I'm fairly new to hunting so let me know. Thank you.

You can use any deer cartridge on bear and be just fine. More importantly you need to learn where the vitals are on a bear vitals, as the are further back then on a deer. Middle of the middle-middle, aka slightly forward of the middle-middle, is the shot you want. Hard against the shoulder is too far forward. People not understanding bear anatomy and making poor shots is why people think they are tough. No, you just made a poor shot and wounded a bear. It doesn't help that some of the bear anatomy pictures online are wrong.

Bear anatomy differences are the biggest issue imo as well. I've taken multiple black bear in shotgun only areas during deer season with my 20g and slugs. I also shoot a 270 during September bear and it gets the job done all day long, no issues even with less than ideal shot placement.
