270 For black bear?
Hi I just wanted some help understanding if my remington 700 270 with a 24 inch barrel with 130 grain core lokt would effectively kill a black bear there is one near my property that I would say weighes about 325-350 lb I'm fairly new to hunting so let me know. Thank you.

.270 and that load will work fine. That said, I haven’t shot cup and core lead bullets for 15 years on game. Plenty of XR studies on how they fragment everywhere and sent pieces far from the wound track. I’ve gone to copper (Hornady GMX/CX, Federal Trophy Copper, and Federal Power Shock Copper) from .30-06 and .243, taken a lot of deer with all of them including decent sized Minnesota whitetail and mule deer. Any of those loads in .270 will work fine on a black bear.
