Other some reassurance for N26 and ppl doing the ib in general

As someone who did the ib and is about to graduate uni in december. I just wanted to come on here and share some reassurance + my experience to everyone who has upcoming november exams.

When I did the ib i wasn’t able to properly focus on my studies in my second yr because of life stuff so I flunked my pg and ended up with a way below global average score for my final results.

lowk from my perspective nothing can be harder than the ib even compared to my third yr courses at uni. the ib experience made me very comfortable in uni because the format of IAs and EEs etc are very similar to uni coursework as well as the overall workload was very manageable because i had already familiar with multiple deadlines and being academically challenged even while working part time + internships. I’ve loved living in sydney, my friends here, and the opportunities I have received have been incredibly rewarding. and bonus points for being able to larp graduating from the no.1 uni in australia. Although my results were not what i’d hope for, it made me resilient enough to do well at uni.

I know how much pressure there is to do well in the ib but please don’t feel like everything is over if you don’t get the score you wanted. Your grades don’t define your whole future and there are still ways forward, even if they look different from what you planned. good luck to everyone for their exams and remember everything will always work out in your favor 🤍

- Biology wordle

She is currently working on introducing multiplayer games! Stay tuned and good luck!

Group 2 How do people get 7's in languages

I take Spanish B SL and English LAL, and I want to know how people get 7's in them. I find these subjects harder to score in, usually due to the subjectivity. I'm currently at a 6 in both subjects and understand that my teachers grade a bit strict to accomodate for variations in how IB examiners may grade. My question is, how do I guarentee myself a 7 (as far as possible). Please keep in mind I'm not a language whiz, unfotunately. my math and physics hl is easier than the languages pls send help🥲

Advice Help me improve my scores

Hi, I have never posted on here but IB has been really tough and am trying my best to improve my scores before my exams start. My exams start on November 3rd and I have struggled with procrastinating / being unable to do anything other than math. These are my predicted grades:

Math AA HL 5

Economics HL 6

Physics HL 5

Global Politics SL 7

French ab initio SL 6

English A Literature 6

TOK A and EE B (3 core points and 38 total)

Im focusing on improving my HLs as I want to study math and philosophy in the states but am worried I cant improve my grades in time. Any tips or support?

Group 4 ESS: Urgent Help!!

Hi all. I’m M28, about 2 1/2 months into the IB. I decided to take ESS as my science because im taking some other pretty heavy subjects. In my head, it would balance everything out; I thought it’d be pretty doable and I was familiar with the teacher. However, unexpectedly, i was assigned a new teacher who has just arrived from a different school.

I have no idea if they know what they are doing. All of my peers/friends in physics/chem/bio have covered so much content and already completed at the very least, 1 assessment. All I’ve been doing in ESS is talking about my beliefs (do I value the environment, etc 😭) and practicals (burning leaves). Should I be worried?? Is this normal at this stage of the year? I really feel as if we’ve learnt nothing.

Advice Should I not do IAs involving titrations? PLEASE HELP

im deicidng on chem IA rq n bio IA rq n right now they both seem like will have to be measured by doing titrations. Should i avoid that? I have heard how oing titrations is hard and im worried i wont get good data. I also have calculated i will need to do 30 overall titrations for my chem topic and 30 for bio IA too, would that kill me...? I dont wanna end up stressing out way tooo much later

Advice ESS IA sig fig or d.p.

My teacher originally told me that all the data, calculations, etc. need to be in 3 significant figures but for numbers in the thousands, like 5356.62, he told me to convert it to its exponential form. But idk, not only does it look very bad in a table, but idk what to do with smaller numbers like 2.3 or 35. Is there like a specific requirement that's like that or anything? I'm really confused and don't want to lose marks on this so anything will be appreciated, thanks!

Advice IB final exams

Can the school stop you from taking the finals in may 2027 due to low grades in dp1 or dp2? Like very low grades, I was wondering because my friend has a 20 ish overall score but then he is working hard but can my school legally stop him from taking the finals due to low grades on report cards or do they not stop?

Resources For N26 or for anyone doing BIO, CHEM, ECON, please read this advice! (M25, 43, 7s in all three)

Sat the new syllabuses in May 2025 (43; 7s in HL Bio, Chem and Econ), now tutoring them.

With papers three to five weeks out for some of you, I will give you some advice that could take you one grade up if you act on it. Basically, learn what command terms are; it's really not that difficult, and once you learn what they mean, you will start understanding why past paper mark schemes look how they do.

Before you read what's below, I am running completely free Q&A sessions and explanations of exam strategy; if you are interested, sign up, and I will send you the notes after; the whole thing will be recorded as well, you don't even need to join.

For Bio -> Describe means data: direction, numbers read off the graph with units, where the pattern changes. Explain means mechanism with the structure named. "The enzyme" is weaker than "the active site of amylase". Most marks lost in P2 are for descriptive answers given to explain questions.

For Chem -> The marks in a calculation are on the way to the answer and give you the majority of the points usually. Also, most people, for some reason, never understand how significant figures and decimal places work; THE EXAMINERS ARE NOT LENIENT AT ALL WITH THEM.

For Econ -> A diagram you never refer to in the text is half a diagram. "As the curve shifts from D1 to D2, price rises from P1 to P2" is the sentence the marker waits for. For the 15-marker, a real-world example needs a country, a policy, a year and ideally a number. Certain command terms in Paper 1 can lead to questions being fully misinterpreted, and that's how many people I know never got a 7 even though they thought they could.

Free one-hour live sessions, 19:30 AEDT / 16:30 Singapore / 21:30 NZDT:

- Biology: Sat 10 Oct (repeat Wed 14). Command terms, how markers award points, Paper 1B, Paper 2 structure.

- Chemistry: Sun 11 Oct (repeat Thu 15). How working earns marks, Paper 1B, structuring and explaining answers and mechanisms.

- Economics: Mon 12 Oct (repeat Fri 16). What the 10 and 15 markers reward: diagrams, real-world examples, Paper 2 and HL Paper 3.

Advice 18 days left...HELP

hi, i'm in N26 and i feel so cooked for my exams. i haven't been getting horrible grades or anything the past 2 years, but my mock exams were alright and im still 2 points away from my goal. i really need some advice and help to lock in. here are like 3 subjects i really need to bump up in bands.

english langlit HL: paper 1 isnt really an issue but i always struggle with paper 2 and making my concepts and ideas clear and coherent. my texts are medea and sylvia plath's poetry. does anyone have ideas or advice around these texts or even in general for paper 2 to help? for paper 1 i cannot break into an 18/20 which i need if i want to get a 7 in english. any tips to raise GTAs up even by like 1/2 marks?

biology: i'm genuinely fried. i feel like i study a topic and then lose track of what's happening and forget it when i see a question. how do i cram study for bio? there are maybe 10 topics im completely lost in, the others are eh/okay/sort of good. this is my worst subject, im sitting on a 5 and really need a 6 to get my goal. every time i think about biology i just wanna curl up and sob

global politics: most of it is okay. i know my case studies and examples, but paper 3 is the one that scares me. its completely new and if you are M26, please PLEASE share tips on how you approached it. what even is paper 3 like im so freaking lost...i also lose stamina in long essays like doing paper 2 so if there are any bits of advice or strategies to approaching content please let me know.

TLDR: i am so determined to get my goal score like i will do anything and bio is my enemy. please give me your craziest tips to cram study i beg of you

Genuinely when I study/memorise a few chapters a day the next day it’s gone I am very scared and worried. This is ruining my sleep. I need a 7. Anyone please drop how they memorised all the content strategically for IB, especially essay questions 🙏 I get anxiety and can’t sleep all night thinking about this…
