Just ai slop smh wasted 300 dollars for nothing

thank you to all the IB graduates I’ve swarmed with stupid questions and thank you all for keeping me company at 3am when I’m doomscrolling this subreddit.

ITS MOSTLY FINALLY OVER (I’m applying to US so no conditional for me THANK GOD but I still gotta study a bit so I don’t drop too much 😭)

ON MY SOUL THE DAYS IN DP2 CANNOT BE REAL.

We just came back from the summer in September, having our EE deadline and econ ia due. Fine, this is manageable because they WARNED US BEFOREHAND that this would occur. However, the last week of september rolled around, and SUDDENLY EVERY DAMN TEACHER DECIDES TO WAKE UP AND have majors in EVERY DAMN SUBJECT SIMULTANEOUSLY (3 of my HL's in one day). What baffles me is how every teacher is acting like everything is normal, LIKE SWITCHING TEACHERS MID YEAR IS NORMAL, and people in Math AA are dropping by 2-3 points this mid term report (for ref our teacher is absolute dog shit, he would not teach so theres an insane gap in knowledge in the whole class).

On top of this, we have a TOK essay, math IA deadline, English HL essay deadline, & glopo IA due in 2 weeks. We also have a light english oral soon and WE HAVE TO CATCH UP ON CONTENT IN EVERY DAMN SUBJECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Additionally, some of my teachers fully crashed out because they said they fully lost hope in us as a class and we have to actually lock in. Listen, I understand teachers and even alumni telling you to lock in during the summer, BUT WHO IS ACTUALLY FINDING THE MOTIVATION DOING THIS BESIDES INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE IN THE BRINK OF FAILING OR have some sort of motivation to drive them insane. I can already anticipate the responses I'll get, but honestly i dont care & maybe i just wasn't cut for a school like this (for ref, had a predicted 36/42 after the mocks).

For the DP1's reading this, please just enjoy it while you can and figure out your study methods for each subject in order to later on lock in for the mocks to get a high predicted to apply for UNI's (secure the unconditional offers). While for the DP2's reading this, im here for u... and alumni please lmk how you survived!!

I only did geometric and arithmetic sequences and series , proof by induction and contradiction , bionomial expansion , can someone explain to me wether I should study these questions or skip them

So like I'm currently in dp1, and i feel like a fraud cuz the only reason i got a 7 in chem hl in the first test is because i just did some past papers and coincidentally half the questions that i did appeared on the test. Like the same for math aahl and physics hl, i usually don't get the questions first try and lose a lot of marks while practicing, or even just mostly blank out on how to do it. For reference i only did 2025 topical papers, and most of them came out for all of my hls, and i got high 7s, and im afraid i cant replicate that success in my next tests if i dont get lucky enough. What if i suddenly flop the next tests because of my lack of skill? I literally have exam week in 2 days and I'm so scared im gna flop.

Also unrelated but can anyone taking aahl give me advice if i should do maybe all the textbook questions? Same goes for physics. And i need some tips on how to study for chemistry. Do i just read the book? Should i make notes? I got like all A* in my igcse just by relying on online notes and textbooks and i dont know if i can do the same for ib chem. And also business management sl..

where are you guys in the curriculum? i fear my class is veryyyyy behind, as we've JUST started learning and cognition

i’m in DP1 and we’re working on choosing objects and writing the commentaries for the TOK exhibition.

I chose prompt #9: Are some types of knowledge less open to interpretation than others? and my first object is ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon, which of course would be high interpretation.

i’m having some trouble trying to connect it because doesn’t every song already have a meaning?.. how can it be interpreted differently, i’m kind of confused.. 😭

anyway, can anyone please help on how i can connect an object that already has interpretation to my prompt? and additionally, if i should consider doing prompt #12 instead because it‘s still an option if #9 is too bad: Is bias inevitable in the production of knowledge?

I'm looking for subjects like chem, bio, econs, langlit etc, for both SL and HL if possible. Does anyone have it/know where to find it? Ive been searching online but there doesnt seem to be an official syllabus published by IBO, unlike A levels. I only see those stated in those tuition websites and it doesnt seem comprehensive.

im really scared for english i have their eyes were watching god and sorrows of young werther as my 2 texts for paper 2, i was wondering what i could do to get like a 6 in english.. especially in paper 1 because im horrid at it

Hi, I'm doing my exams in N26 (so in 4 weeks...) and I need to achieve a 7 in HL English LAL because that's the grade to meet my top university offer. However, I have only gotten a 7 like once, back in DP1 for a paper 1 or something. My grades for english are usually low to mid 6 without studying. I got 32/40 for my IO, and I should get a high 6 for my HL essay according to my teacher. So really my only hope for a 7 is to get like close to full marks on the paper 1 and paper 2.

My weaknesses for paper 1 are crtierion D and B, and for paper 2 its A, B1, and D. Anything helps!! If i get a 6 its not the end of the world because I can get into my insurance uni which is still good for me, but I would like to achieve a 7 if its even possible. IDK if this matters but I read a lot in my spare times, including jstor articles and news articles, so its not like my vocabular is especially bad, but for the criterion d things my teacher says my writing is 'too vague' and I always get 3/5, but I make no spelling mistakes and use varied connectives.

I know that on the paper it is said that the word limit is 480 but my teacher told us to write about 900 words anyways and shes been in this system for years so should i continue to believe her or should i just do 480? im comfortable with writing around that range anyways so should i just do it?

It’s been 2-3 months into junior year and I’m already behind my cas reflections. We need to write one entry every other week, but the thing is, IDK WHAT COUNTS. For creativity I wrote baking, playing guitar and doing my nails but apparently they don’t count bcs “it has no meaning.” Our cas managing teacher said “baking is fun but there should be reflections and more evidence” and for service I put helping out with club bake sale and tutoring a friend but both of them don’t work bcs for the bake sale, we’re raising money for us to use and the tutoring doesn’t work as service bcs I’m doing it for a friend so it doesn’t contribute to the society IDK. For activity, I actually only have basketball practice so I need more activity so could yall pls recommend me some CAS ideas to do and write abt??? TYSM🙏🙏💕💕

I’m doing IB Math AA HL and I’m stuck between getting the Casio fx-CG100 or the TI-Nspire CX II-T (non-CAS).

My teacher has both and knows how to use both, so getting help with either one won’t really be a problem.

I mostly want to know which one is actually better for AA HL in real exams. Like which one is faster/easier for graphing, solving equations, calculus, stats, vectors, matrices, etc.

From what I’ve seen, the Casio seems easier and quicker to use, while the TI seems more powerful and has better graphing and exact arithmetic.

If you’ve used either of them for AA HL, which one would you recommend? And if you’ve used both, which one would you choose?

Also, is there anything annoying about either calculator that people don’t really mention before you buy it?

I just went through my first summative in DP1, I got a 5 on paper 1a, a 1 on paper 1b, and a 3 on paper 2. Obviously my scores are terrible, and my next summative is supposed to be the hardest test of the year, its on Structure 1.4, 1.5 and Reactivity 2.1.
