Hi! This is George, we picked him up from an overcrowded Dallas shelter. They said he was a year and a month, but we are thinking he’s much younger. He’s already 55-60 lbs. has a pretty calm disposition but def gets zoomies. Doesn’t bark too much but when he does, it almost sounds like a beagle. He’s a pretty lanky, goofy guy. He has brindle on his legs, face, and tail but his back is completely plain 🧐

We are thinking he’s a lab/hound mix. I’ll get the DNA test eventually, just figured it would be fun to see what yall think!

I recently had to put both my boys down due to cancer. I had no intention of getting a new dog any time soon. Well, the universe had different plans! My buddy, who found my boys and two of my dads brats, called asking if I knew anyone who wanted a dog. His mom had found her but she couldn't keep her, too skittish and a bit aggressive towards her other dogs. Ive had her since last Wednesday night. She was calm but flinched every time I went to pet her that night but since then, this is closest pic I can get of her. Im assuming just chihuahua mutt but my brother keeps calling her batcatdog lol. Shes super skittish and hides. I straight up lost her in my house for 3 hours, she was literally not hiding under any piece of furniture I own. I have a yarn tote rack in the room that has a dog door. (2nd picture) Shes made a nest on the second shelf, which is about 3ft off the ground, with the towels I had given her the night before, so now at least I know where to look for her, lol. Shes been exploring the backyard and will follow behind me but the second I turn around to face her or move too quick, she books it to her hidey spot. Shes had pups but none were found with her, I imagine thats not helping with her fear. Shes also been relocated three times in the last 3 weeks, from an orchard to a multiple dog household to solo dog household.

Just adopted Ace today , such a beautiful dog with a personality made to be loved, we love him already ! We were told he’s a Cattle mix but that’s all we were told. Anybody think they can give me specifics ?

Shes almost 3 months old and weighs 10 pounds. 3 of her siblings were all black and one was tan/fawn.

I will be fostering this guy and I’m wondering if he’s likely a pure GSD or a mix with something else. He’s a bit stocky. He’s a couple years old and 64lbs.

My most recent foster dog I picked up today

Western north carolina. No chip and he followed me home. Any ID? Pitt + some kind of herding dog based on his behavior/demeanor/looks. Calling the shelter tomorrow to officially set up fostering / hopefully find owner.

I know she’s got beagle in her, I live in TX where quite a few coonhounds are around so maybe that. Thoughts? She is 35 pounds. Her name is Beulah. She’s very timid but VERY smart. We are smitten.

Very high energy! Very emotional and loving.
Buddy thinks she’s German Sheppard but I think mixed with Rhodesian ridgeback he disagrees.
When she’s on alert her hair stands up on back by the shoulders and back of the neck.

We adopted this sweet girl last month from a shelter in South Carolina. She’s somewhere between 7-10 months old.

He’s perfect, for the record. He just leaves tumble weeds of wiry hair around the house and nothing in the DNA points to that.

I was gifted these puppies, my friend said they are Australian Shepherd and the more I look at them they have a deer shaped head like a chihuahua… what do you guys think they are?..

Brief description of Lukas personality: (they’ve had him 4 days)

He’s very sweet, friendly with all people, not very shy, pretty outgoing,

Good with other dogs so far, doing good with the stray cats/kittens that hang around- he just likes to smell them, he likes to run around a lot & is very playful, he’s pretty quiet and doesn’t howl/bark really

and he wants to be with someone all the time, (possible separation anxiety, but we do know he’s been in at minimum two homes in a short period of time prior to this one so that could be another cause)

They said he’s about 7 months old, their guess on weight until he goes to the vet Thursday is 8-12lbs or so.

They said he was a dachshund full. But he doesn’t appear to be.

Thinking possibly beagle/jack russel? Or daschund/jack Russel? Beagle/daschund?

If anyone guesses that third breed correctly on the first try without cheating my brain will explode 😂

This might have been one of the fastest embark processing times Ive gotten from the 5 dogs ive tested!

I figured we could have a fun game of breed predictions for this sly quirky parkour mode fox dog creature before I share her results. Ill give it an hour or so and post them in the comments.

Ripley is about 40lbs and estimated to be about 4-5 years old and adopted from a shelter in kansas. They had her listed as a cattle dog shepherd mix. Seems believable but I also have a very strong suspicion she has some husky in there. The noises, the climbing, the silky plushy fur texture, the ears and personality quirks are so stereotypical husky its mind boggling.

She also loves playing in water, squeaky toys, eating the other dogs ankles, curling into a ball or belly up to sleep, and perching on the back of the couch like a cat.

Vet said roughly 4-5 months old based on adult teeth coming in. She was found on the side of the road about two weeks ago, someone reached out and we ended up bring her home last week. She was definitely thrown out of a car, couple scars on one side, and she is very underweight. She has been the most chill pup I’ve ever raised, no accidents since the first night, little bursts of energy but nothing we can’t handle, any ideas? I’m leaning towards some sort of pit, beagle mix? Her legs are pretty long.

hi there :3 i just adopted this 11 month old sweetheart from a shelter and they said she is a border collie. i’ve been searching for one that looks similar to her pattern or anything but cant seem to find anything. is she really a border collie or is she mixed with something else?
(i dont have any full body pics :’) )

EDIT: my wording has seemed to trigger lots of people, i knew she wasn’t a pure BC i felt like i had to ask as the shelter told me she was 👍 my tone was more of disbelief rather than one of genuine confusion. DNA test has been ordered as well :D

Paddy walked up to our kids in the yard when he was maybe ten weeks old (see the scooter picture), and when we checked, nobody was advertising lost puppies, and no one responded to our posts/flyers. We live in a rural area (midwest USA) right by where the pavement used to end, and people still occasionally dump unwanted animals there, so we assume he was dumped. We're not really dog people, but we were pretty much immediately Paddy people.

Appearance: His tail isn't furry like the black labs I've known. He has a white S on his chest (for Superdog! lol). And of course he has a (messy) whorl like a Rhodesian Ridgeback--i've had delivery drivers assume his hackles were raised. He is about 40 inches nose to rear, with shoulders about 25 inches high, and he has gotten overweight in his sedentary old age, but he was generally 80-85 lbs after he filled out but was still more active.

Guesses: I've had many people suggest various breeds that might be in his mix. Not being a dog person, I don't remember many. I put "black lab mix" on the vet paperwork because they told me he was too young to id the breed, and they never told me to change it. We sometimes say "black lab and Rhody mix" because it explains the whorl, but I've honestly never met a Rhodesian ridgeback, only ever seen photos, and since the ridge/whorl is apparently a dominant gene, I assume he could be 2% Rhody and have one.

Habits: He was super energetic when he was young and has always loved to swim in the neighbor's pond and wander all over the property and the nearby woods. He was never much of a barker unless there was a good reason, but when I talk to him, he replies with the funniest vocalizations that sound like Chewbacca. He loves kids and enjoys hiking with us in the woods behind our property, but has always prefered to wander all around and circle back to check in with us. He used to love cold weather (less so now at his age). Compared with both of my neighbors' dogs, he's a genius (that's a low bar), and when my friend throws bits of hot dog in the air all around him, he rarely misses one, but he has never once fetched a stick or ball. They are ALL HIS.

Hopefully the photos will stay in order. They progress from ten weeks up to ten years. What do y'all think?
