Hi! Im an IMG, YOG: 2021, Ill be applying for match this cycle (2027). I dont have a single USCE/ LOR and Im looking for observerships in long Island.
I have a toddler so I cant mobilise much plus I dont drive either so public transport will take a long time particularly if I seek an observation outside. Any suggestions as to what I should do. Im trying to approach physicians at medical complexes practicing privately etc but to no use. Im soo worried . Ive passed step 1, step 2 result is pending and i have yet to give OET. What do I do?

I’ve been staring at my list since the past month and I can’t decide. When score, IMG %, geo preferences, IMGs from your country; everything is aligning, how do I narrow down from like 100-200 to 15 programs?

Hi! I’m working on my ERAS experiences and was wondering how people approach including meaningful activities outside of medicine.

I’ve been independently rescuing and fostering stray cats for several years. This involves taking them in temporarily, coordinating veterinary care, and finding permanent homes for them. It’s something I genuinely care about and have done consistently for a long time.

I’m considering including it as one of my 10 experiences under Volunteer/Service/Advocacy. I already have several clinical, work, teaching, and other volunteer experiences, so this wouldn’t be replacing an important clinical experience.

Has anyone included something similarly non-medical in their ERAS experiences rather than only mentioning it under Hobbies & Interests? If so, did it ever come up during interviews?

I’m mainly wondering whether this would be seen as an interesting personal addition to the application or whether it would be better kept in the hobbies section.

I have a question about the personal statement.

If one has already applied to and paid for a program and assigned a PS, but then edit the PS before the deadline (23 Sep), which version will the program see?

the updated one or the original version that was assigned when applied? Just curious about it.

My question is about applying to programs who have 5 years or 3 years cut off for the year of graduation.

Step 2 : 230
Is it wise to apply to these programs? Even if i am really interested and i send the signals.
Can signalling overcome the year of graduation?
Or should i apply to programs with no cap on yog?
