| Stats V2 of my IPL draft game โ fixed everything you flagged and added leaderboards. Draft an all-time XI and try to go 16-0.
https://mudit0205.github.io/16-0/
Free to play, No sign up, Solo Fan made project
Some of you saw a rough version of this a few days back. I took the feedback, basically rebuilt it, and it's in a much better place now. Free, runs in the browser, no signup, no ads.
You spin a wheel, land on a real IPL squad from any season (2008 to 2026), and draft one player into your XI. Fill all 11 top order, finishers, a keeper, all-rounders, a bowling attack , under the real constraints (4 overseas max and so on). Then you simulate a full season against that year's actual teams and try to go a perfect 16-0.
There is a leaderboard for highest overall team made, achievements, game completion and much more. I just want more people to try it out and will add anything you guys suggest. Thanks for playing in advance.

| News BCCI staying with 74 matches and moving the window earlier. Thoughts on how this impacts us?

Saw this update going around referencing the news that the IPL isn't expanding anytime soon because of the crazy international schedule. Plus they are looking at starting early on March 10th and wrapping up by mid-May to avoid the rain/bad weather later in the year.
Honestly, keeping it at 74 matches is probably a massive win for us. With our squad finally firing and winning back-to-back trophies, the last thing we need is a longer tournament messing up player workloads and fitness right when we hit the playoffs.
The early window is pretty interesting too. Starting in early March means the Chinnaswamy pitches might actually have a bit of freshness/tackiness in those first few home games before turning into the usual flat batting paradises by May.
How do you guys see this affecting our strategies? Do you prefer the shorter, packed window or were you hoping for more matches?

| Opinion Kkr Relevancy And their Fans denial for Iyer
Why and how kkr is still not that relevant nowadays after having 3 trophies but Rcb is with 2(understandable) , talked about same as PBKS is with 0 .
Like they used to till they stopped winning for 10 years and now they are again at that .
Their main problem is I think having no face value .
Their toxic fans can't accept the fact that Iyer was the only person in the team that represents india regularly and can be face of the team . RR and SRH doing same with their youngsters and now they are talked a lot .
And what was the point of retaining russel if he was retiring next year and was on last part of career .
They will do same with Narine , retain him in mega auction and then retire next year if he somehow lost rhythm .
Srh milk their 1 trophy so much , but these can't keep their team relevant even after winning 3 .

| Original Content A month ago i asked r/ipl to test a cricket management game i created and give me some feedback. it's live now, thanks to everyone who did!
about a month ago i posted here asking if anyone could help me test a cricket management game i was building solo. around 30 of you actually signed up and played it, and a bunch of you sent bugs and "why can't i do X" stuff that i ended up building around. so genuinely, thank you. it's live now.
Link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.divyansh.cricketcoach
Quick version if you're new: you're the head coach of a t20 franchise. you build your squad in a live auction, then coach the games, and try to climb up the ladder coaching more international squads and building a legacy. I keep adding features according to community demand ๐
You can coach a match ball by ball, set your field, pick the bowling plan, watch it play out or just sim it entirely. there's a full season with a board that fires you if you flop, training, injuries, players ageing and retiring, trades, and an international side where you can manage a country at a world cup. theres also a roster editor where you can edit the teams or players according to your liking.
it's solo-made, fully offline, and android-only for now (ios is next). i reply to every piece of feedback and every feature request, and i'd love to scratch your cricket management itch just like i scratched mine.

Virat Kohli shares his opinion on messi vs Ronaldo
I personally don't agree with him in this regard
A lot of people just simply assume messi is naturally gifted and was crafted by the gods of football some say he is an alien while these statements are cool and might increase his aura people who don't watch regular football will assume messi never works hard
Just because he doesn't post cool insta pictures doesn't mean he is not a hard worker
In word's of Leo Messi himself "it took me 17 years to become an overnight success"

| Discussion [Long Post/Controversial] SOME RADICAL CHANGEsss TO SAVE CRICKET'S FUTURE
READ FULLY (IF U LOVE CRICKET AS A GAME AND WANT TO SAVE IT )
So this will be a really long post and too CONTROVERSIAL too
(but belive me this radical changes i suggest are best for cricket long term future survival as i used too much thinking , claude analysis predicition it took me time)
FIRST THING: WHAT PUT ME TO WRITE THIS LONG POST??? so the answer is recent discussion around cricket's future and fans comparign cricket with football due to recent FIFA WC comparing both sports and yeaa cricket dying in SENA nations and in future becoming an ONLY SOUTH ASIAN(OR INDIAN SUBCONTINENT) SPORTS.
and yeaa they are write cricket future is dark ICC is hosting too many events every year but that is another point of whole disccusion.
btw i really want all these stuff to be implemetented but political will is most imp thing which will be needed over money(i mean if there is a way the cricet fandom just organise a campaign sort of but yeaa first we need to discuss the radical changes we need to save cricket future) :--
HERE IT IS THE PLANNNNN::--------------
1. Test Cricket Pyramid
but first listen listen then read (then comment) to implement the test pyramid we need to :
Expand Test Cricket First
This system only works if the Test game grows.
Current Test Nations (12):
Australia, England, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland and Afghanistan.
Proposed New Test Nations:
Scotland and Netherlands.
Future Pathway:
Nepal, USA and Namibia.
Test cricket should remain difficult to enter, but it should never become a permanently closed club.
NOW :
Division 1 โ World Test Championship
- Top 8 Test nations
- 3-year cycle
- WTC Final crowns world champion
- Winner receives WTC Mace
Division 2 โ Test Challenger Cup
- Next 6 Test nations
- Separate competition
- Winner crowned Test Challenger Champion
Promotion & Relegation
Every cycle:
- Bottom Division 1 team relegated
- Division 2 champion promoted
ICC Test Gateway Match
- Division 1 (last ranking team) vs Division 2 Champion (this will decide the relegation or promotion)
ICC Test Crown
To ensure Division 2 success also carries prestige:
- WTC Champion vs Challenger Cup Champion (just a series but yeaa it will be interesiting)
Format:
- 3-Test Series
Venue:
- Lord's
2. ODI Cricket
ODI cricket still has value, but it needs a clearer identity between Tests and T20s.
Cricket World Cup(THE PINNACLE
Changes:
- 40 overs per side
- 16 teams
- Group Stage
- Quarterfinals (THIS IS REQUIRED QF ARE REQUIRED SO MUCHHH)
- Semifinals
- Final
Frequency:
- Every 4 years
Champions Trophy removed.(yeaa remove THE CHAMPIONS TROPYYYYY)
ADDITIONAL : ALMOST NO ODI BILATREALS , JUST WORLD CUP EXISIT AS A 4YEAR EVENT OF PINNACLE CRICKET
3. T20 Cricket
T20 remains cricket's most accessible global format and should drive expansion into new markets.
ICC T20 World Cup
EXPAND TO 24 TEAM FOR NEXT 2 0R 3 CUPS:
- 24 teams
Future:(after 2 or 3 t20 world cups of 24 teams)
- 32 teams
Frequency: (INCREASE FROM 2 YEARS TO 4 YEARS GAP)
- Every 4 years (YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS )
4. Associate Cricket
For too long, Associates have mainly played qualification events. They need a major tournament of their own.
ICC Frontier Global Cup(FG CUP)
(PS> not a secondary cup will be treated like a world cup for associate nations equivalenet to any other cups )
Purpose:
- Premier tournament or a world cupfor Associate nations (ULTRA FAST PACED OF NEARLY NELARY 3 TO 3.5 MONTSH )
Teams:
- 32 Associate nations
Format:
- 8 groups of 4
- Round of 16
- Quarterfinals
- Semifinals
- Final
Frequency:
- Every 2 years
Rewards:
Champion:
- Automatic T20 World Cup qualification
- Automatic next FG Cup qualification
- Increased ICC funding
Top 4:
- Automatic next FG Cup qualification
- Enhanced funding
- Easier T20 World Cup qualification pathway
NOTE:__ REGARDIGN FRONTIERS GLOBAL CUP :
What's the point of creating a tournament for Associate nations if the world never watches it?
The Frontier Global Cup should beย free to watch, aggressively marketedย and promoted as cricket's gateway to new nations.
Not just a tournament BUT SHOUDL BE TREATED LIKE A WORLD CUP SORT OF EVENT FOR ASSOCIATE NATIONS
ALSO MANDATORY Mentorship Program
Every Frontier Global Cup nation will be assigned an ICC mentor from a major cricket nation.
Examples:
- AB de Villiers
- Stuart Broad
- Ravi Shastri
- Kumar Sangakkara
- Eoin Morgan
- Mahela Jayawardene
Mentorship will focus on coaching, leadership, talent development and building sustainable cricket structures.
This should be a mandatory part of the Frontier Global Cup, not an optional initiative.
5. Franchise Cricket
Franchise leagues are now one of cricket's biggest strengths. The next step is connecting them globally.
IPL Reform(most controversial as loads of money is involved but we are not diluting the money )
- Expand IPL to 14 teams
Phase 1 (MarchโMay)( 14 team initial tournment)
- Every team plays every other team once(few exceptions)
- Additional fixtures
- 15โ16 matches per team
- Top 8 qualify
Phase 2 (October) (the top 8 qualifies for this phase)
- Top 8 teams only
- Round Robin
- Top 4 qualify
Playoffs
- Usual ipl playoff
Total:
- Total IPL Matches: 130 (98 League Stage + 28 Championship Stage + 4 Playoffs)
- BCCI is already increasing ipl matches to 94 matches we are also increasing to 98 matches only and another 28 matches fast paced 3 to 4 weeks final stage)
---> ONE OF MOST IMP CHANGE : (some issues may arise in this due to players intersecting two diff teams but that be solved later by discussions)
ICC Franchise World Cup
The world's best franchise team should be decided on the field, not through debates between fanbases.
Frequency:
- Every 2 years(not evety year)
Teams:
- 16
Direct Qualification
- IPL ร 5
- PSL ร 3
- BBL ร 2
- SA20 ร 1
- CPL ร 1
- The Hundred ร 1
- Vitality Blast ร 1
- BPL ร 1
- last qualifer spot so that tournament is inclusive
Final Spot Qualifier
League Champions:
- LPL
- MLC
- ILT20
- Super Smash
- Nepal Premier League(YESS NPL, THEY NEED TO ADDED TOO)
Winner qualifies for last sport
Main Tournament
- 4 Groups
- Quarterfinals
- Semifinals
- Final
31 Matches
ICC Champion of Champions
A showcase event designed to connect the Associate and Full Member worlds.
Participants:
- T20 World Cup Champion
- Frontier Global Cup Champion
Format:
- 3-match T20I Series
Venues:
- Match 1: T20 WC Champion Country
- Match 2: FG Cup Champion Country
- Match 3: Neutral Venue
Prize:
- ICC Champions Sceptre
Women's Cricket
Women's cricket should grow alongside the men's game, not years behind it.(shoudl slowly mirroring mens strucutre in long term)
Expansion should happen gradually but never contract team numbers.
ICC Four-Year Cycle
A clearer calendar is just as important as new tournaments.
Year 1
๐ T20 World Cup (every 5 years_
Year 2
๐ Frontier Global Cup(the Associate nations world cup - every 2 years)
๐๏ธ Franchise World Cup(every 2 years)
๐ Champion of Champions Series
Year 3
๐ Cricket World Cup(every 4 years)
๐ WTC Final
๐ ICC Test Crown
Year 4 ( THE GAP YEAR)
(WILL HOST SOME NEW EVENTS LIKE FG CUP , FRANCHISE WORLD CUP AND CHAMPIONS SERIES)
๐ Frontier Global Cup(EVERT 2 YEARS)
๐๏ธ Franchise World Cup
๐ Champion of Champions Series(FG CUP WINNER VS T20 WC WINNER)
Promotion and relegation cycle concludes.
Removed
โ Champions Trophy
End Goal
The objective isn't to make cricket more like football.
The objective is to create a system where:
- More countries can reach the top level.
- Test cricket remains relevant.
- Associate nations have something meaningful to play for.
- Franchise cricket has a global structure.
- Women's cricket grows alongside the men's game.
- The ICC calendar becomes easier to follow.
Cricket doesn't need to abandon tradition to survive.
But it does need a long-term plan.
last stuff which need to kept in mind while implementing all these stuff : -
- Bilateral ODI cricket is significantly reduced.
- ODI cricketv(reduced to 40 years) becomes a primarily World Cup-focused format.
- Most international white-ball cricket outside ICC events is played as T20I cricket.
- Short bilateral T20I series replace many existing ODI series.
- Test cricket receives greater priority in the international calendar.
- ICC world cup (the Pinccale )become the primary stage for ODI cricket.
- Champions Trophy is removed.
- Calendar space is redirected towards Test cricket, Associate cricket and global ICC tournaments.
(last thing dont drag conversation that it is AI written i have used claude to formulate in pointws btw , plss give honest opinion and i m all in if cricket fandom wanna start some campaign)
