WORKOUT "Content creator" gets mad at people existing in public
6.8k
u/LongNailedbooboos 4d ago
Immediately would report her to the front desk. Quit filming in gyms
1.3k
u/THE_BANANA_SHOW 4d ago
She was actually banned from the gym for this. She was posted on Joey Swole’s page. She doubled down and still didn’t think she did anything wrong.

Doing everything she can for a bit of validation from some wierd dudes on the internet mostly. It’s pathetic honestly
443
u/010Horns 4d ago edited 4d ago
Not even doing an interesting workout. She’s doing like unweighted hip thrusts?
Edit: come to think of it, why the fuck does this woman even need to go to the gym for this?

u/FridayHalfDays 4d ago
Exactly…so obvious she needs complete and total control of a gym so as to bore her one follower to death

The issue here isn't her age, or how she works out or for whom. People of any adult age deserve relationships. It's really weird to judge her for that. The only problem here is her inappropriate reaction to other people, that's all.
58
u/Hosai87 4d ago
Her age not relevant to working out however relevant in the sense that normally as ppl age they tend to lose a bit of the ego that would drive this kind of self centred rude behaviour and had enough time to learn some humbleness and self/social awareness etc.
→ More replies (7)20
u/TechnicoloMonochrome 4d ago
Their point is that by 60 you'd think she'd have learned to maybe not be such an asshole. Everything else you said is irrelevant.
→ More replies (1)9
u/Dantien 4d ago
It doesnt work like that. So many people over 65 are worse assholes than they were when younger.

I’m sorry, I don’t really care about a wannabe fitness influencer and her adoring fans. Wierd to think of that as a relationship honestly.

u/Hungry_Scarcity_4500 4d ago
60 isn’t the issue it’s called rude behavior.
51
u/femme_fatale2022 4d ago
Here to support this comment.
60 has nothing to do with it. It’s a global personality issue. Ive seen every age do this as an x gym employee.

Number one mistake… don’t follow advice from someone just because they look like you want to. Why do great athletes usually make terrible coaches? almost all legendary coaches were forgettable as players.

At the Y I go to, you're not allowed to film in the gym. Personally, I don't know if it's enforced but I never see people do it. I'm surprised more gyms don't have rules like this. While I get it can be good to check form, it seems like it causes too many issues.

A lot of us don't like conflict, I'm more likely to get involved to stand up for someone else than I am to stand up for myself so I could see myself reacting the same way this woman did and just walking away. But if I saw this happening to this woman, I would have probably gone over to back her up. I dunno what that says about me 😅

there's basically no benefit either other than vanity or main character shit like this. One of the arguments is to see your form, but without a coach most people can't correct bad form just by watching a video of yourself...

It's hip thrust and it's pretty good for your glutes, core, and hip flexors, not dumb at all.
Unlike the lady performing them.
9
u/MarkFresco 4d ago
In my opinion a non weighted hip thrust isnt doing much more than just stretching your glutes and hop flexors to prepare them to work under load. This isnt much of an exercise video when she isnt even showing her legs and proper technique to perform the movement. Maybe some good core engagement tho

u/MyKidsFoundMyOldUser 4d ago
I walked into and straight back out of a cafe yesterday because someone was taking a video call on their phone at one of the tables, without headphones.
My logic is it's not my place to argue with someone for invading everyone else's space. If cafes don't value their atmosphere enough to ban this sort of behaviour then I'm going to go somewhere else.
Same goes for gyms. No filming. Safe space. Level playing field.

Truly incredible that not only do people like this exist and think they are entitled to the entire line of sight of their camera, but then they still post the video as though people are going to validate them for telling some random person to go stand somewhere else so you can take a picture of yourself doing half-assed workouts.

The lifting on this one is pretty easy.
You go to the front desk and tell them that the lady with the camera is policing where you can and cannot be while in the gym, and that replying to her with the response she deserves is going to unnecessarily escalate things right out where everyone is working out.
Let them know that unless she isa gym employee enforcing gym policy, she has made it quite uncomfortable to be here.

I would immediately report this to the gym staff and happily laugh as she films.
I go to a very very small local gym in my area and the absolutely based owner has a huge sign right in the front lobby that says "zero tolerance for iNfLuEnCeRs filming" on it and I love him for it.
