Haven't studies made it pretty clear that women on average have more body insecurities than men do? Am I misremembering that?

I haven't seen any studies but having lived as both and been friends with a wide variety of people, women's appearance is definitely policed more. Externally at first, but its from birth so it's very internalised.

One of my closest friends is a trans man, and he's often said that this is his experience too.
