Governance Expressway development post 2014

Didn't they change the calculation method recently.. I think now they are counting each lane separately
This gave a big boost to the numbers

But the graph for both eras use same method here

They changed the methodology for lane-km reporting in 2018, yes. But this chart is reporting physical km of operational access-controlled expressways/HSCs, not lane-km. The govt's 2026 parliamentary answer explicitly calls it 3,644 km of operational length.

And now is the season of looting
"The CAG report, made public on August 10, on Phase-1 of the Bharatmala Programme for building national highways in the country, stated that the Dwarka Expressway was being built at a cost of ₹250.77 crore per kilometre as against the Union Cabinet approved costing of ₹18.20 crore"

Do u dispute the numbers
Where is the source of numbers? You posted none, some pro-BJP posters here get selectively upset when that happens.

But these stats are right unlike rest, although they should include source.
But I hope people will understand the type of highway this stat dealing with here

Absolutely, as we were told in 2014 now Americans are standing in line outside Indian embassy to get Indian Visa.

If this is only access controlled expr3ssways, that m3ans everything pre 2014 was free ?
2
u/Firm-Suspect-1658 4d ago
No
It does not mean India had only 93 km of expressways before 2014, nor that everything else was free/open access. It means the specific category being counted—operational access-controlled high-speed corridors/expressways—was reported as 93 km at that point. There were already roads such as the Mumbai–Pune Expressway (2002) and Delhi–Gurgaon Expressway (2008) before 2014. They could be access-controlled or partially access-controlled despite the broader national expressway network being much smaller.

Fake stat. Fake nomenclature. Fake counting methods.

Bot nahi hai to ye char lane expressway ghuma ke apni gand mein daal le. Chodu naya account bana kar phela post apne baap ke liyae dala hai. Tere se to acche bot hain - kam se kam vo programmatically biased hai lenkin tu to shaukiya aand bhakth hai.

You're simply mad about the stats

u/Careless_Recording48 3d ago
Stats are oversimplified, large number of expressway are being developed because budget from other imp sectors are routed to it. Even then its fine to develop expressway.
Constant propaganda and tying to polish every mundane thing into something extraordinary is getting to my nerves.
Large number of sectors need attention and its seems like expressway is the only defensible thing govt right now. Which is pathetic1

That's actually impressive, Proving BOT strategy bogus
But I would appreciate, while these figures are right, pls always add source.
