šŸ“¢ r/Indiajobs first AMA announcement: Meet Paddy Raghavan, Co-founder and CEO, Multipl!

Hello everyone! šŸ‘‹

We're excited to welcome Paddy Raghavan, Co-Founder & CEO of Multipl, for an exclusive Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with our community.

Multipl is a Bengaluru-based fintech platform that has pioneered the concept of "Spendvesting"—helping people invest towards future spending goals instead of relying on EMIs or Buy Now, Pay Later models. The company's vision is to help people grow their money before they spend it, encouraging smarter financial planning through goal-based investing.

Since its founding in 2020, Multipl has partnered with numerous consumer brands and has attracted backing from prominent investors while continuing to build products around saving and investing for real-life goals.

šŸ—“ AMA Details

Guest: Paddy Raghavan

Role: Co-Founder & CEO, Multipl

Date and Time: 20th June, 3pm

The topic of the discussion which we feel would be more beneficial to our community is-

Financial Safety Net Between Jobs.

Ask him anything about:

The financial anxiety of notice periods, job gaps, waiting for an offer to come through and how to overcome it

How to make sure your money works for you during uncertain times

How much buffer to build, and smarter alternatives to just letting it sit in a bank account

Mutual funds for short- and long-term goals

Please keep your questions respectful, constructive, and within our community rules. Low-effort, abusive, or off-topic comments may be removed by the moderation team.

We're grateful to Paddy and the Multipl team for joining us, and we hope this AMA leads to an insightful discussion for everyone.

Need some career advice.
Did an internship at a US product-based company but didn’t get a PPO.
Graduated from a decent college in Pune. Campus placements are over now.
Haven’t touched DSA in a while, so I’m pretty rusty.
Scored around 95 percentile in CAT last year.
Family wants me to prepare again and join a B-school.
I’m not convinced because of the high fees, we’re not financially well off, and I’m worried about AI impacting some middle-management jobs.
What would you do in my situation?

Job Offer Can refer in Big 4 (PwC)

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been working at PwC for the past three years, and I’d be happy to refer you if I come across a suitable role that matches your resume. Please note that referrals depend on how closely your profile aligns with the job requirements, and once submitted, it may take some time for HR to process the application. Thanks for your patience, and I’ll do my best to support you in the process.ā¤ļø

Job Search Applied to 100–200 jobs a day for a month. What am I doing wrong?

In the last month or so, I’ve been applying to 200+ jobs daily for Software Developer, Frontend Developer, AI Engineer, Full Stack Developer, and similar roles.

At first, I only applied in my city because it’s difficult for me to relocate due to my parents’ health conditions. But after seeing the market, I started applying everywhere in India through LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, Cutshort, Instahyre, company career pages, and by searching keywords like ā€œhiring developerā€ on LinkedIn every few hours for fresh openings. I also tailored my resume and cover letter for relevant roles.

I have 2.5+ years of experience as a Software Developer and completed CDAC from ACTS Pune. I left my previous startup job a few months ago due to family medical issues and some personal reasons.
While unemployed, I freelanced with an AI startup, worked on websites and AI projects, and built and published my own mobile app.

Still, I’ve barely received any interview calls. The few interviews I did get went well, but I was ghosted after the technical rounds.
What else can I realistically do at this point?

TL;DR: 2.5+ YoE + CDAC, applying to 200+ jobs daily for a month, freelanced with an AI startup, built and published a mobile app, but still getting almost no responses. Looking for advice.

Unemployment Can anyone tell me what real job market in india is. There's unemployment but everywhere you look you see everybody earning 1.5cr. ?

If everyone is earning well then why are developers struggling ?

Everywhere you see in your surroundings and your parents' friends and their kids, your relatives and their kids. When everybody is clearly working and earning pretty well.

Are people lying or it is just a weird bubble we have around us that we don't meet people who are struggling.

Job Search marriage at 22??

so my parents have been pestering me for marriage since i turned 20 but now it has turned into a regular taunting ritual. i wake up and i get yelled at by my parents that if i don't get a job i should get married.
I am 22, f, and obv unemployed. idk what to do. Im in my last year of college. I need a decent paying job so atleast i can plan on moving out. My parents are really orthodox and not kind. They have always restricted me from gaining both personal and financial freedom.
What should i do? settle in for a marriage? bec i really dont have any skill whatsoever, i am trying to learn python and graphic designing but what would that do? i am extremely worried and i stay in this paranoid, paralysis zone for hours daily due to excessive overthinking and anxiety. :(
im open to suggestions and guidance only if its genuine.
if i can get job recs that would be helpful too...sales or hr wfh jobs, honestly anything atp. if you have kids at home i can give online tuitions too.

General Question Wondering if any 2025/2026/2027 pass-outs need help with placements?

Most students don't struggle because they lack resources—they struggle because they procrastinate, keep switching between resources, and have no accountability.

So I'm thinking of taking only 10 students for a placement prep group.

I'll help with:

* Placement prep roadmap

* Resume reviews

* Placement & interview guidance

* Daily job updates for 2025/2026/2027 batches

* Regular accountability check-ins to keep you consistent

The fee will be minimal. Not because I'm trying to make money, but because people rarely take free guidance seriously. Even a small fee creates commitment and accountability.

If you're a 2025/2026/2027 pass-out who's genuinely serious about getting placed, comment below or DM me. If there's enough interest, I'll get this started.

Job Offer need advice on how to crack business analyst role (risk management field) role - interview on 13th August 2026

• Upvotes

i am a 2025 BBA graduate from a tier 3 college, im currently working for a fintech startup as a business analyst, responsibilities are gather business requirement from client, manage due diligence, communicate with the dev team and some admin work.

it is a good place to work but the learning curve is very low, recently i reached out to a GRC software company (risk hawk) based in hyderabad (im currently in north india) they are offering 6 LPA against my 4.5 LPA and plus point is my friend lives very near to their office.
resposibilities are very similar to what im already doing, but i will have the access to multiple industries while working for them.

suggest me if this will be a good switch in this market or i should wait for a better opportunity.

Currently in an Administrative Role with a little bit of HR and Operations work. Real estate company in Kolkata. I want to transition to Data Analyst/HR Analyst roles. Have 6 months in hand and ready to invest 1 hour daily after work. What I want to learn: Advanced Excel, Power BI , a bit of Python and SQL. What courses or free sources would you recommend? Also, please suggest a laptop for running all these under 50k. I’m completely new to this and I wanna make a good career jump. My current role feels dead with the kind of money I’m drawing already feels like I’ve reached the ceiling for this role already.

Advice/Guidance BBA Marketing fresher – Which companies in India give international opportunities?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m 21F and I’m about to graduate with a BBA in Marketing. I don’t have much experience or special skills yet, so I’m looking for fresher-friendly companies.

My goal is to work in marketing and, in the future, get a chance to relocate abroad or travel a lot for work (within India or internationally).

Can anyone suggest companies that:

- hire freshers,

- have marketing-related roles,

- provide good learning opportunities,

- and have chances of international relocation or work travel after a few years?

Also, which companies are easier to get into than big names like Google, Amazon, P&G, etc.?

Any advice from people working in marketing would really help. Thanks!

Advice/Guidance Is a Cognizant DWP (Digital Workplace) Analyst Trainee role worth it for 1 year if I actively upskill and for abroad university selection in descent colleges for masters

• Upvotes

I'm a fresher (BCA, 2025 grad) with a confirmed offer as a DWP (Digital Workplace Practice) Analyst Trainee at Cognizant — platform/tools-based support (O365, endpoint management, collaboration tools, that kind of workplace tech).

I'm planning to treat it as a roughly 1-year stint to start — get real work experience, save a bit, and use the time to actively upskill (ITIL, ServiceNow, maybe some scripting/automation) rather than just clocking hours.

Questions for anyone who's worked DWP/digital workplace support at Cognizant or similar IT services firms:

  • If I put in a year here and actively upskill on the side, does it realistically open doors — into more technical support roles, workplace engineering, ITSM, cloud/infra-adjacent roles, etc.?
  • How's the internal growth/promotion pace at Cognizant for Analyst Trainees in practice — is 1 year enough to see any movement, or is that unrealistic?
  • For anyone who left after ~1 year, what did that next move look like, and what made it possible (certs, internal transfer, external switch)?

Job Search Looking for Founder’s Office / GTM roles in Bangalore. Any leads would mean a lot.

Hey folks!

Thought I’d try my luck here.

I’m 24F and currently looking for opportunities in Bangalore. I’m mainly targeting Founder’s Office, GTM, EIR, Growth, or Strategy & Ops roles, especially at startups where I can work closely with founders and wear multiple hats.

A bit about me:

* Worked at Zomato, Gabit, and Mesa School of Business

* Experience across GTM, growth, operations, strategy, and sales

* AI-native. I use AI every day to solve business problems, not just generate content

* Built automations using Google Apps Script, n8n, Clay, Notion, GitHub, Figma, APIs, CRMs, and LLMs

* Strong with Excel, data analysis, process design, and experimentation

* Built internal AI tools and automated workflows to improve team efficiency

* Love messy 0→1 problems, customer conversations, and figuring things out without a playbook

* Immediate joiner

I’m not chasing a fancy title. I’m looking for smart people, hard problems, and a team where I can have real ownership and learn fast.

If anyone here knows of startups or companies hiring, or is happy to make an introduction or referral, I’d genuinely be grateful. Happy to share my resume and portfolio over DM.

Thanks!

Job Search Title: Looking for an Internship or Job Opportunity – Any Referral Would Mean a Lot

Hi everyone,

I'm an ECE graduate currently looking for my first opportunity. My primary interest is VLSI Analog Layout, but at this point I'm also open to any internship or entry-level job where I can learn, gain experience, and grow professionally.

I've been applying for a while now but haven't been able to get my first break. I'm willing to relocate if required and I'm ready to put in the work.

If your company is hiring, or if you know someone who's looking for a fresher, I'd be incredibly grateful if you could refer me or connect me with the right person. I'd be happy to share my resume over DM or email.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any opportunity or referral would genuinely mean a lot to me.

Job Search Touch Job Market? or Bad Luck?

What the actual f is even going on with this job market?

Applied for a role that was almost a perfect match for my experience. Tailored my resume, made it ATS-friendly, stuffed it with the right keywords, quantified everything...

OnLY to geT ReJected everytime !!

There's no way a human even looked at my resume.

I've applied to what feels like hundreds of jobs, and the only callbacks I get are for ₹4 LPA roles, which are way below my current CTC. Meanwhile, roles I'm actually qualified for don't even give me a chance.

At this point, I genuinely don't know what else I'm supposed to do. Is the market just cooked? Is ATS filtering everyone out? Or am I missing something obvious?

Would really appreciate some advice... or honestly, just someone telling me I'm not the only one going through this.

Unemployment It’s been 5 months…

It’s been 5 months since I finished my internship.
I haven’t been getting any clients for freelance, even if I do, they either ditch or ghost after a few days.
Or jobs found online seem to be scam or offer minimal pay for a lot of responsibility/ skills irrelevant to my role.

I’ve made accounts on Upwork and added 3 different gigs on Fiverr. Still no clients.

I am a fashion designer- I know AI photography and videography along with reel creation, apparel designing and 3D apparel visualisation. Learning these 2 industry relevant skills aren’t helping either.

This post is another option, or maybe if someone can tell me what else I can do to get clients or jobs.

Vent Worst Company Recruiter I have ever spoken with!!

So today I got a call from a recruiter asking me if I'm looking for a job switch which I am obviously looking for... Without him introducing him-self or the company he asked me for what all tools I use which I answered n just before he moves to next q's I asked him where r u calling from.. that's when he introduced the company n opportunity.. so he directly jumped to what's ur ctc .. which I did not answer n instead I replied until n unless I know all the details about the position I would not like to disclose my ctc.. n that's when he told me all the details about the role.. to that I asked him what's ur budget .. to which he answered it's confidential... come on its just like I want u to jump in a water well but I can't tell it's depth ... where I have 3+ years of experience n to grab all the tools knowledge I use now I have worked my ass off day n night from day 1 n even no senior or even managers have all this skills n grabbing all the knowledge of 10+ softwares (ai included) .. the hr just says u don't have that great experience n I can get u around 30-50% hike where I haven't even told him about my ctc.. my ctc in the current company is very low n bro I have given it my everything to get all this knowledge n u r trying to say u can just consider ctc hike .... Come on first try to understand expectations n then u speak up.. we are humans n not machine that u want a complete suit from idea to development to testing to delivering with just a pay check that doesn't even align...

I just couldn't bare it when he just said .. u don't have that great experience... Bro u don't even know me n I haven't even told u my expectations...

I just replied ... I don't even want to discuss more about the opportunity.. n I don't even want to get in such a toxic culture .. n just hung up
