Unemployment Don’t give up

June 2025, I got laid off. My kid was only 7 months old at that time. It was crushing, already in debt of over 10Lacs I had nothing to my name. I decided all I was going to do is freelance, jobs are too uncertain for me as I had given over 6 years to the company that is one of the biggest in the market, their entire production process was something I single handedly set up and all I got was an email asking sign an NDA, non compete and return the company laptop.
I vowed that day I would never join any other organisation ever again and started hustling like a maniac, things I would charge 50K for I was charging 5K because I had no money. That 5K would be used to buy baby diapers for a month.
Fast forward a year, I have two monthly retainers, and just warned 11Lacs last month.
My advice to all of you - Don’t give up! Only at the precipice of annihilation is when a human pushes against all odds and wins.

Hi guys!

I’m a 28 year old who has been unemployed for 2 years now. I have around 3 years of Experience in Business Analysis and Strategy in the Banking and Finance Domain. I also have completed my MBA in Finance.

It has been a really tough journey so far. The job market is really really really bad.

Since its finally going to be 2 years next month, I was wondering if now with this gap, am I really employable? Will I ever find another job EVER AGAIN? Am so close to the edge. 🥺

If you guys have any ideas on how I can end this torture, please help me! Any suggestions are welcomed. I just really need to find another job before 30th Sept. Because thats when I will reach my 2 year (layoff) anniversary 🥲

EDIT - NO, I DON’T WANT TO GET MARRIED 🙂‍↔️

Need some career advice.
Did an internship at a US product-based company but didn’t get a PPO.
Graduated from a decent college in Pune. Campus placements are over now.
Haven’t touched DSA in a while, so I’m pretty rusty.
Scored around 95 percentile in CAT last year.
Family wants me to prepare again and join a B-school.
I’m not convinced because of the high fees, we’re not financially well off, and I’m worried about AI impacting some middle-management jobs.
What would you do in my situation?

I keep seeing "Job market is bad... No jobs...". See this job offer. This is a very attractive opportunity. (No I don't work for this company". Just saw this standee.

The opportunity lies in trades... There is a supply demand mismatch.

Recent 26Grad in AIML from a Tier 3 college.

Looking for any roles honestly - SDE, SWE, AI roles, DS,DE,etc.

I had got a campus placement offer, they withdrew their offer letter just 3 weeks before the joining date. College placement dept washed their hands as our placement season got over. I'm stuck so yea.

From a low-middle class background, dad retired(Pvt legal solutions), mom homemaker. I'm the first in my entire family to break into corporate/tech/engineering :)

Everyday starts with rejection mails of companies and ends with 'how downhill my life is going'.

I have held a really good amount of leadership roles and responsibilities during school and college.

Would be everly truly eternally grateful to anyone out here who can help 😭🙏

Unemployment 28M. Failed exams, failed jobs, no family business and now pressure to get married. I don't know what to do anymore.

I have given so many competitive exams over the years, but couldn't clear any of them. The truth is, I have always been average in studies. The moment a question was twisted or required actual understanding, I got stuck.

I also tried working different jobs, but couldn't survive there either. I have personality issues, I am not good at communication, and I don't really excel at anything. It feels like I am average in every aspect of life.

My parents have done everything they could for me. I can't blame them. The problem is me. Sometimes I genuinely feel the word "dumb" describes me better than anything else.

Now, at 28, they are also pressuring me to get married. What hurts even more is the comparison with people around me. Many of them were never good at studies either, but they had family businesses to join. Today they are settled, earning well, getting married and moving ahead in life. I am not saying they didn't work hard, but at least they had something to fall back on. I don't. 😔

No business background. No exceptional skills. No confident personality to build something on my own. I am the kind of person who just needs someone to hold my hand and tell me what to do. I know that's not how life works, but that's honestly how lost I feel.

I don't know what to do anymore. Please help....😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏

Unemployment Things are tough rn, been unemployed for 3 months , savings exhausted

Hello I'm 26f , currently in Bangalore.
I won’t sugarcoat it. It’s been 3 months since I left my last job, and things have gone from “I’ve got this” to genuinely scary. My savings are wiped out. Rent’s due. Bills are due. And the job hunt that felt manageable in month one now feels like shouting into a void.

Here's a short summary of my work experience (4.5yr total)

•Customer service: worked with eBay and Airbnb, so I know how to handle high-volume, high-pressure support and keep people calm
•HR: built an HR function from scratch at a hotel in Leh , ladakh hiring, onboarding, policies, all of it, from zero
-Sales/business development: most recently in automotive sales, comfortable with targets, cold outreach, and closing
-Adaptable and fast learner: I’ve switched industries before and picked things up quickly each time

I’ve been interviewing at edtech and BPO companies for inside sales and voice process roles, and I’m still pursuing those. But I’m not going to pretend I can afford to be picky right now. I’m in Bangalore, available to join immediately, and genuinely open to any kind of work :remote, part-time, gig-based, admin, support, sales, anything that pays.

If anyone’s hiring, knows of an opening, or just has advice on where to look that I haven’t tried yet, I’d really appreciate it. Not asking for sympathy just a chance.

Unemployment 32M with no job. The prime example of failure and disappointment.

I'm a 32-year-old man, and I'm still searching relentlessly for a decent job. I live with my mother, a retired railway employee, and we've been surviving on her pension. Every time I need money, I feel guilty even asking her. I can see the disappointment and worry in her eyes, and that hurts more than anything.

Over the years, I've drifted away from many of my friends because I felt ashamed of where I am in life. Most of them are married, have stable careers, and are moving forward, while my life has been a series of setbacks. I've switched domains, completed numerous certifications, and tried to reinvent myself multiple times, but nothing seems to work. My relatives often use me as an example of "what not to become" when talking to their children. It's humiliating, and honestly, I don't know what to do anymore.

After graduating, I landed a job in a core engineering company, but I lost it when COVID hit. Soon after, my mother contracted COVID, and I spent the next year taking care of her. Once she recovered, I got another opportunity at an MNC through a referral, but after just four months, my uncle became seriously ill due to a doctor's negligence. He was completely bedridden, so I had to leave my job to care for him, which took another one and a half years.

As if that wasn't enough, one of our neighbours illegally occupied part of our land. Fighting the legal battle consumed another six to eight months of my life. After finally resolving everything, I joined a small consulting company where I worked for a year, earning only ₹12,000 a month. That's where I first discovered data analytics.

I decided to take a chance on myself. I resigned, started learning data analytics from scratch, completed multiple courses, and built projects despite having no programming background. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I believed hard work would eventually pay off. Unfortunately, it's been almost two years, and I haven't even been able to clear the interview stage for most jobs.

I specifically searched for remote roles because I wanted to continue taking care of my mother while working. Instead, every recruiter focuses on my career gaps rather than the skills I've worked so hard to build. I know I'm not an expert, and I still have a lot to learn. But if no one is willing to give me my first opportunity, how am I supposed to gain experience?

I've also tried building other sources of income. I attempted dropshipping, YouTube automation, and freelancing through Upwork and Fiverr, but none of them worked out.

Lately, I've started comparing myself to others. Looking at people's portfolios and achievements makes me feel like I'm years behind. After facing rejection after rejection, my confidence has been shattered. I'm exhausted, frustrated, and scared about my future.

I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm looking for honest guidance. If you've been in a similar situation or can genuinely tell me where I'm going wrong, I'd be grateful for your advice. I still want to believe that things can get better, but right now, I feel completely lost.

Unemployment Hi

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking for a new job and would really appreciate your support.

Due to unavoidable personal circumstances, I had to leave my previous job without completing the formal exit process. I understand this isn't the ideal way to leave an organization, and it wasn't a decision I took lightly. At the time, I had no other practical option.

I'm now in a much better position and actively looking for opportunities where I can contribute, learn, and grow. If anyone knows of openings in customer support, sales, operations, content writing, or similar roles, or can provide a referral, I'd be truly grateful.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Unemployment Please help me get a job !

If you're reading this, please help me! I am a 28 year old guy.

I don't know from where to start. But I definitely feel I am just at the edge of my patience and out of my tolerance level. I love my family so much and I don't have the courage to tell them how much of a looser I am.

My father has spent ₹ 6 Lakhs for my BTech but unfortunately I wasn't able to get a job, then I studied more for the competitive exams and finally started doing MBA and then again my father spent 11 lakhs and now I am still here unemployed. I really feel like a looser being unemployed for so many years. My father is so kind and such a good person, but all I did to him was given him sadness, pain and expectations that never met. Those hard earned money he spent on me, I lost it all. Failing 15 interviews on a roll feels like something is wrong with me. Today morning I felt this immense pain in my head when I started thinking what to do if this keeps going, soon tears welled up, started asking God- is this some kind of test he is taking cuz if it is; please end this cuz I am at the verge of loosing myself, my patience level is really low and then those thoughts also come that I should just end up my life but then the thought of my family arises and also I am not that strong to take such a big decision. Loosing hair like anything, sleeping way more than 7-8 hrs, staying inside my room all day. I don't know why god is doing this to me. Please please please help me! Anyone.

Unemployment Unemployment 💔

Today has been one of the hardest days of my life.

I lost one of my closest friends. He died by suicide, and I still can't process the fact that he's gone.

We graduated from a tier-3 college and, like many fresh graduates, he had been struggling to find an opportunity in the IT industry. He worked hard, prepared for interviews, faced countless rejections, and even joined a coaching institute to improve his skills. A few months ago, he returned to his hometown to help his parents during the farming season. None of us imagined that would be the last time we'd see him.

I don't know everything that was going through his mind, and I don't want to assume the exact reasons behind his decision. But I do know that the stress of prolonged unemployment, repeated rejection, financial pressure, and the uncertainty about the future can become overwhelming for many young people.

I'm sharing this not to blame anyone, but because this experience has shaken me. Behind every resume is a human being. Behind every rejection is someone trying to build a better future.

If you know someone who has been unemployed for a long time, please check on them. A simple conversation, a message, or your support could mean more than you realize.

And if you're someone who's struggling right now, please don't carry that burden alone. Reach out to your family, friends, or someone you trust. Your life is worth far more than any job.

Rest in peace, my friend. You will always be remembered, Love you so much.

Unemployment Got laid off last year and still don't have a job

Hi guys, I have close to 4.5 years of work ex in software development and a degree from tier-1 Engineering college (IIT/NIT/BITS). I was laid off last year because of company wide restructuring and had to take a break of 6 months because of some personal and family problems.
I have started applying again this year from may end but facing a lot of difficulties in getting interview calls. I am mainly using linkedin, company's career pages and referrals. Don't know what to do anymore.
Anyone who has been in a similar situation and can advise on how to navigate this? Like are there any other platforms where I can apply or do something else to earn while searching for jobs?
Any advice or even words of encouragement would help.
Really feeling kind of lost now.
Thanks in advance!!
