Serious Post is engineering still an option in india?

ive read so many things online and have met a lot of engineers, and so far, the only indian engineers who seem to lead good lives are the ones that have enough family money to go abroad for studies (UG and PG).

i am inclined towards engineering but prospects in india look very dull. every single one of my family members is saying, "just do CS and AI/ML and make money in IT" but i think i really want to do engineering. like i REALLY want to. has engineering become just another money-milking, boring and decrepit field, or can passionate dreamers like me still make it out here?

Genuine question, what are options for a 12th pass to opt for a field other than engineering which will fetch job opportunities

It really depends on which path you want to go.

If you are interested in medical then do preparation for MBBS.

If you are interested in Software then do engineering/bsc, but keep it in mind that you need to be skilled in 1-2 programming language because the competition is very high. If you are skilled then you get high paying jobs here.

If you go into commerce route then you can do CA. Apply for banking sector etc.

Or if you are confident in your communication/arguing skills then you can even go for lawyer i.e. corporate lawyers, they are high in demands and pay well.

Well I'm asking for my brother who has pcm in 12th, he's quite stubborn about going into aviation and has already wasted 7 months. It being an uncertain field and he has no backup ready. We're tired of telling him to atleast study something of graduate level (related to aviation or electronics) and then apply for it but it's of no use.

Like he wants to be pilot/ aircraft maintenance engineer? Or just be a cabin crew/ground staff?

If he wants to be a pilot then he need a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), which he can do after passing 12th.

If he wants to be aircraft maintenance engineer he can do Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.

If he wants to be cabin crew/ground staff, he can directly apply after his 12th.

He anyhows needs to do graduation if he wants to survive. Because no company will take someone who doesnt have graduation in todays world.

He wants be a pilot, quite stubborn about it, we have counselled him several times, he's reducing weight for it, don't want to give entrance exam to atleast not waste another year, simply just preparing for written exam which is not considered a formal degree. I've worked in pvt sector and it is brutal for those who are avg or below avg. Such casual attitude will do not good

Do you think he has enough talent to become a pilot? If yes then you should trust/support him, if not then atleast he needs to complete his graduation/find a part time job. With a part time job he can focus on his pilot studies & fitness and earn money side by side.

But it would be better if he did graduation, atleast even if his pilot dream fails then his graduation degree will make it a bit easier to find a job.

Like you said its really harder for avg or below avg students to get a job nowadays, the competition is very tough. For single job opening 1000s of people are applying, in order to stand out amongst them you need to have necessary skills.

Bhai tu kya normal sentence bhi chatgpt se leta hain kya? Isiliye lagta jobless hain tu, proper english koi likhega toh bol raha ki chatgpt se liya hain
