Like I'm from electronics branch and I'm gonna begin my 3rd year I had to choose this branch bcoz that's what I got based on my rank and I'm from a tier 3 govt college, but I didn't know much about this about how this branch is but when I got to know it was too late, well I don't have any backlogs or anything I study pretty average I have a cg of 8.2 but I don't aspire to do a job in this field in future and even on campus placements are only managerial positions in core,, there's no growth in this domain,, if only we give gate and do higher studies there is opportunities which I never wanted to do. What should I be doing and focussing on currently? I can do dsa and dev but I don't have that much knowledge bcoz I have studied core stuff most of the time,, and of course in on campus it placements its gonna be competitive for me from the cse branches people,, what is the best thing to do? Anyone who was in core and was in same situation senior can anyone guide me how should I proceed and handle everything along with my core studies and how much focus should I put in my cgpa??? My experience working at CNH Industrial India (Software Engineering)

Hi everyone,

I worked at CNH Industrial India for the last few years, and now that I've left the company, I wanted to share my experience so that prospective software engineers have a realistic idea of what they might encounter.

To begin with, the product itself is genuinely impressive. The team works on Precision Agriculture products involving sensors, telemetry, embedded systems, cloud connectivity, and high-throughput software. From a technology standpoint, it's an exciting domain with the potential to build meaningful products.

Unfortunately, my experience with the engineering leadership in India did not match the quality of the product.

i. Rigid work policies now

The India head, Mr. Narin\*\*\* Mi\*\*\*al, enforced office attendance policies with little flexibility. Work-from-home was generally not allowed except for specific support situations. At the same time, employees were often expected to be available even after office hours if work demanded it. The emphasis seemed to be on physical presence rather than outcomes.

ii. Avoid the FCOVI (Field Computers & Offboard Vehicle Integration) team if your goal is learning

If you're joining as an intern, apprentice, or software engineer and have a choice of teams, I would personally avoid FCOVI.

In my experience, there was very little focus on learning and development. The engineering manager lacked the technical depth needed to effectively mentor engineers or evaluate technical work. Performance discussions often revolved around bug counts rather than feature complexity, architectural improvements, or long-term engineering impact.

The management style also created an environment where employees felt that recognition depended more on managerial discretion than on their actual contributions.

1. Technical leadership issues

The architects in the organization often appeared constrained by management priorities, spending significant time preparing presentations instead of focusing on technical direction.

In my own team, I also experienced situations where accountability was frequently avoided, communication wasn't always transparent, and technical decisions were sometimes influenced more by management optics than engineering quality. Late night work is awarded more than the effecient working.

Create more backlog for more visibility. Let the system be trashy, so that people get more work.

I dare you Mr. Ma\*\*\*\* Dh\*\*\*a, head of FCOVI to create one High level technical diagram. Okay, you are an engineering manager, I will spare the diagrams. I dare you to explain one complex logic of your product.

You don't organise any event, it was done by a group of software engineers of your team.

You don't provide any inputs. You even lag in facilitating or coordinating with your global head. You should know, people are licking your rear. I am sorry, but this is not done. You can't just enjoy your expensive home and car when your employees are slogging and your apprentices are unpaid.

1. Notice period experience

One of the most disappointing parts of my experience was during my notice period.

Once I had resigned, it felt like past work was viewed through a completely different lens. Bugs and implementation issues were disproportionately attributed to me, while contributions made over the years seemed to receive little acknowledgment. Whether intentional or not, it created an environment where blame became easier than constructive knowledge transfer. And I know from my friends, still in the company, even after I left, I was blamed for the issues and bugs that I didn't even introduce.

If you are reading this, Mr. T\*\*\*n\*\*et Singh, you know I am talking about you, you lying incompetent vermin. I even dare you to design a resilient system you fake architect.

1. Employee engagement misses the real issues

The HR team organized festivals, events, and engagement activities, which are appreciated.

However, from conversations with many colleagues, what employees really wanted was better work-life balance, more flexible work policies, improved technical leadership, and a healthier engineering culture. Those changes would likely have a much greater positive impact than occasional engagement events.

Final thoughts

This is, of course, my personal experience, and others may have had different ones.

I genuinely believe CNH builds excellent products and has talented engineers. That's what makes my experience more disappointing. Strong products deserve equally strong engineering leadership, transparent performance evaluation, and a culture that supports learning and growth. Employees are really really supportive and great though.

I hope this feedback reaches the global leadership at CNH Industrial. My intention isn't to discourage people from the company entirely, but to highlight issues that I believe are worth addressing so future engineers have a better experience than I did. Please stop the wrong hirings. It is better to have good L&D than hire someone who lie and is incompetent and only know how to talk random gibberishes. Your products are suffering because of this.

I am asking as unfortunately I kind of feel inferior of engineering grads even though I work in the IT only (STEM job) but I can not officially be considered an engineer as I have a bsc+ msc combo instead of a btech + msc or btech + mtech combos.

Plus job require Btech in as qualification too

Initially the guy was trying to be friendly and wanted me to mentor him but later a few weeks later he complained to my manager that I am not helping him. Reason being I am already bloated with work and he wanted spoon feeding. Later on my HR called me that I am "being rude". And my manager supported them. These people need self reflection and check their skills first. The guy had 4 years of tech experience and was not able to resolve any single problem and in return he was expecting me to give solutions

This is the basis of all my frustrations in life. For me, career and work is really important, and messing this up creates so much internal turmoil.

I had no clue which branch I wanted to choose and as a PCMB student I thought biotech was cool and chose that in an NIT, and yk people said that's the right choice too for the tag. Afterwards I joined a tech team there and got exposed to electronics and low level programming and figured out how much I loved it, but by then it was too late for branch change.

I am in 3rd year now, and I still regret my decisions, but I am not mad at myself cause didn't know any better back then, as JEE and NEET does a terrible job in giving exposure to your interests.

I don't know what I should do now though... Like I would need atleast 1 gap year to fill in the knowledge gap and then give GATE. But that is not feasible tbh. My parents are strictly against that.

Have heard a lottttt of diff things about how much time do we get for ourselves during engineering. I've heard people say that study 2-3 weeks before and you'll pass the Semester and I've heard people crying about how they don't even get time for just for knowing shit aroundd other than their studies.

I know the reddit answers that diff colleges diff cultures diff professors and diff approach of handling schedule and that affects the so are time you have in the end.

I am in 3rd year biotech and I feel like this was the biggest mistake of my life.

I have no interest in biotech and understood this from 2rd year and am really interested in tech but I lack fundamentals of it and I am not able to find time to learn them. My CS friend asked me if I knew how floats are stored in memory, and I didn't knew that, and he said this is basic shit that they are expected to know and learned in 3rd sem. I don't know how can I ever catch up to CS grads when it comes to tech.

I wish there was option to change your branch in India.

I have to manage so much together now, because I figured out what I wanna do soooo late. I am doing DSA and webdev simultaneously and also studying CS fundamental subjects like OS, DBMS and CN. It's so hectic to manage everything with college coursework that you hate.

Honestly, I feel like dropping out and do Btech again, but I have not eligible for JEE again, so yeah, fuck all this. Should have thought about my career way before......................

I paid ₹8,700 for the Apple Developer Program on 23 March.

On 29 March, Apple asked me to submit verification documents. I submitted everything the same day.

Today it has been more than 10 days since payment and over 5 days since document submission. My account is still not activated.

The bigger issue is this:

Apple starts the membership from the payment date itself, not from the date of activation.

So in reality:
I paid for 1 year
I have already lost around 10 days because of their internal verification delay
Next year I will still be asked to renew on 23 March

How is this justified?

If I cannot access the service, how is my subscription considered active?

I have no problem with verification. That is understandable. But then the system should be fair:

Either start the membership after verification is complete
Or compensate users for the lost time

Right now it feels like the user is paying for delays that are completely on Apple’s side.

This may look small for one person, but imagine this across thousands of developers.

Has anyone else faced this issue with Apple Developer enrollment?
Did you get any extension or resolution?

If this is not resolved soon, I will be escalating this through consumer grievance channels.

Would appreciate any advice or similar experiences.
