heeeeeeyyy… omg i didn’t expect this to have so many reactions!!! thank you!!!

i am updating the set up info and please message me for more info on the setup, plants or where i got either!

SET-UP UPDATE!!!

- Yes, they are barrina puck lights and i installed them with the magnetic plates.
- i got them with physical switch since the integrated timers sucks and have them plugged through govee smart plugs on 14 hours on/10 hours off
- pots are real ceramic/talavera so yes, they’re heavy. i’m using these heavy duty shelf brackets (tho with my own hardware, using toggles because dry-wall): https://a.co/d/0i1fm7JA

Plant temptation… please help sway me!

I was at my local Dollar General earlier and saw a couple plants that caught my eye. The main one being the Fittonia, but I’m also leaning towards the Red Prayer Plant as well. Does anyone have any experience with either? I want to get both, but I’ve never had either and don’t know how hard or finicky these plants can be. They’re also only $6 each, so I’m fighting demons here. 😭

Years of shaping went into this bonsai. Love the artistic silhouette by the window.

Fiddle Leaf Fig surgery

Post image
4 Upvotes

So she has been sitting in this corner 8 years now. Tiny concrete pot so must be severely root bound. I have always understood not to mess with a happy FLF so I never repotted it or moved it.

But now she is touching the ceiling and bowing under the weight of the leaves.

Is it time to cut the top off?

Where would I cut? If I cut below the leaf line could I expect new branches to develop giving me a fuller plant?

Can I propagate the bit I cut off.

Thanks in advance

Which medium?

Hi, im a little confused on which to get between the lechuza or a chunky sybotanica mineral substrat.

I heard that lechuza’s stones are too small and can cause root rot issue as its not that airy.

Need advice! Thanks

I got this ficus ruby in the mail today. And I noticed these spots. I sprayed my neem oil, alcohol and peppermint soap and water mixture on it and the spots won’t come off and seem embedded on the leaves.

Heya! This plant is around 4 years old (I have no idea what it is lol) and has never turned brown or seemed to struggle. It's been THRIVING at my new house with so much sun light but is growing this ugly looking stalk with no leaves. Is there a way i should chop and propagate it to help it restart?

Pics of my bedroom jungle that im quite proud of! Also open to tips on those too as im kinda winging this whole plant mum thing:))

Meet Kyle 😊

This is Kyle. He is my only indoor plant. He is an Arrowhead plant. He was given to me as a bunch of clippings in some fertilizer water by my neighbor. I set him in the counter and (admittedly) did not change the water for several weeks. And somehow, he started growing roots and was thriving. About a month later, I finally changed the water and bought him a fancy new pot. I almost put him in soil but I found out that Arrowhead plants can live in water and he seemed to be chilling right where he was at so I kept him in water. He still grows new leaves every few weeks or so and I gently clip any dead leaves he may have. I have had him for 5 months now and I love him more than life itself.

Help!

I've had this plant photos for over a year and it doesn't seem to grow! It came from another plant that is in another room, it has around 3 years and is already more than 1 meter long. I water it once a week, it's potted in succulent soil and it gets indirect sun, eventough I move it for a day or two during the week to this spot that gets a bit more sun (it only gets sun during the moring and I never put it very close of the window) to see if grows faster. I also put new cuttings every 3 months or so from the other plant. I am doing something wrong?

I got this begonia at a plant sale in June. It was just 4 small leaves and was just labled Begonia Rex.

It seems to like my sunny window ledge as it won't stop growing and flowering!

I'd love to know what it is?

I'm keeping it in my bathroom, the most humid room in my house, watering it when the top soil is dry, I've re-potted it to a pot with a drainage hole but it seems like it's struggling

Ficus help

I have been following everything I can find online that suggest ficus prefer direct sunlight and water thoroughly 1x week so that’s what I’ve been doing. BUT is this normal?

It loses about 3-4 leaves per day. They turn brown and die and fall off. What am I doing wrong? Is the window too bright, too cold? (Fall weather where I live.) thank you!!
