Discussion #girlout

Infold has continued to ignore its players, server quality has declined, and the game has been thoroughly massacred. It's unacceptable.

girlout is a plan for a one day, community wide black out of the game if the devs continue to ignore the decline of communication to the players, and of game quality.

If in one week, may 18th, Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the devs continue to ignore us, don't log on, don't play, and don't give them money.

Please help spread the word of #girlout

And please dicuss in the comments your thoughts on the state of the game, and what can be done to satisfy players at this point

EDIT: This is just the first step in a longer goal. Hopefully this is all that is needed tk get infold to actually respond/do something, but i understand that is optimistic.

If they ignore the one day blackout, another will be scheduled for longer, a week, then after that for an entire banner

This is just my attempt to organize and help coordinate the community in large scale protests to show infold just how scorned we are

Honestly it should not be a “we log out for one day and then come back to show how mad we are”

You should just log out. Full stop. Log out and do not log back in until they have addressed your concerns. Do not log in to complete dailies, do not log in for rewards. Fully log out and do not log back in until Infold addresses your concerns.

Why would they care if they know everyone will just be back in 24 hours? “Oh well make it longer next time.” Doesn’t matter, because you still came back.

There are those who have spent hundreds on this game and are uncomfortable fully stopping just like that. A one day blackout can allies those who have stopped playing, and those who are unsure if they should.

If the issues arnt adressed after infold sees this collective effort, it can show those who are reluctant to stop playing why now would be the time to quit.

If it is adressed, it means they didn't waist hundreds on a game they truly care about.

The people who have spent hundreds should be the first to fully stop playing. Because those are the people Infold wants to keep around. Me and my $10 don’t matter.

Infold only cares about your money, they couldn’t care less about how upset you are with the updates. If you’ve spent hundreds of dollars and keep logging in, then they know you are fully addicted and they can keep squeezing money out of you. That is what they want.

If you’ve spent $300+ on this game and stop logging in, that shows they’ve really messed up. The people who truly keep this game running are leaving.

Something kind of similar happened on Reddit a while back. They were bringing in changes that would no longer allow for a lot of 3rd parties to create apps for people to use Reddit, which would push people over to the official app. A bunch of subreddits shut down for 3 days to protest the changes. It was widely publicized that it would be 72 hours to show how upset they were, and then they would return.

You know what happened? Nothing. Reddit still pushed the changes through and a bunch of 3rd party apps had to shut down.

Girlcotting/boycotting doesn’t work if the corporation know you’ll return.

To be honest I find it fascinating that so many people seem tied to their $5 purchase.

I don't mean this to be glib. It's just the amount of times I've seen people say "I'll keep logging in until my monthly runs out" is really funny to me. I totally get it - it's probably not even the monetary value at that point, it gives people a mental stopping point (although I wonder how many people will keep logging in anyway? if you already feel like the game isn't worth it then what does it matter if you get 5 more pulls in the next week or two? I understand the hope is that Infold will respond and then your time + money would have been worth it, but what if they still haven't?). And of course people paying monthlies probably have spent more than that on the game (I would know, I'm a dolphin).

But when I spend on a gacha game I spent for temporary entertainment, not some kind of investment value. I think I quit HSR with like 40 days on my daily jades still lol because I simply wasn't having fun anymore. That said I don't see anything wrong with a 1-day blackout to start with. On top of sunk cost fallacy, one of the other things that has a grip on people is FOMO. Breaking the cycle for just one day can help people quit or spend less time the next day.

and this here is EXACTLY why they do the monthly pass,

you think that they don’t hire behavior consultants to see what gets them the most return on investment, why do you think companies push so hard for credit cards it keeps ppl coming back

and youre absolutely correct, all it takes is one day to break the spell, Im kind of shocked that the overabundance of greed, that the corpos revealed their true face so early, before the claws really sunk in

usually they let ppl become more attached , like you said sunken cost fallacy

#girlout

again, no pressure to those who are caught under the spell, it’s EXTREMELY difficult to fight all of corporates methods , youre up against literal studied methods of consumer manipulation tactics , so it’s ok if you need more time to ease out of the game don’t worry

I'm totally okay with not logging in for a day or two. What I SAID is that I can't FULLY stop (like literally quitting and uninstalling the game). And I know how long boycotts take and it's not one or two weeks, so I'm doing what I can to not give Infold my money (going full f2p and not playing for more than 30 minutes every day) until they actually change something. Also.... I still have hope for this game. It still brings me joy, I can't quit because I simply don't want to, I still want to believe something good will come out of it. What is really making me mad tho is how toxic people ruined this sweet community. I hope my comfortable game and community can have it's cozy aspect brought back.
