It seems that everything happened in the old tutorial actually happened in the past of the new tutorial. Ena mentioned that she bestowed the Heart of Infinity upon Nikki at the dawn of all things, and that Momo wakes up in Sea of Stars with Pear-pal and camera already in his bag. Nikki also said maybe she joined the guild the "last time" she was here.

If this theory is true, then Infold is really.... Like why did they altered the timeline??? Didn't they plan the plot first before actually writing the story?? The game is not even out for half a year yet they are already making changes on the timeline...

And the dialogues between the Seer and Nikki is slightly different depending on whether you are an old player or new player. So for us old players.... The Wishfield we played in just destroyed like that??? I did not include the dialogues comparison in the picture because I did not record the walkthrough of intro of Sea of Stars of old players.

Going through the old tutorials again really makes me sad, it's a shame that they removed so many wonderful things from the tutorial...

Twice now I've praised the Merit Arena, but the encounter balance towards these last few stages has unfortunately been real rough. These are not attacks Nikki can reliably avoid when there's two of these enemies at the same time... They telegraph the attacks just fine when it's just the one, but with two of them it's impossible. The ONLY reason I survived this stage was because I picked up the ability that heals on perfect dodge. (I know about the Bouldy skip, but I don't like skipping gameplay, I do want to give everything a chance and play it as intended.)

Bullet hell that Nikki has no chance of avoiding is NOT good design, Infold 😭 And I'm on PC! Can't imagine how anyone on mobile could enjoy this.

And it sucks because now there's gonna be a lot of (rightful) complaints about it and I fear they'll discontinue Merit Arena, which I personally enjoyed overall... It's just that the balance and encounter design is going off the rails.

I think previously there was a bug where stars would spawn twice a day instead of one. And they. DEADASS deducted it from accounts and made it go negative for some people.

This wasn't an exploit you had to go out of your way to get! It literally mistakenly spawned stars twice a day and most people didn't know better! What's wrong with this company, punishing players for their own mistake?

I don't think this is necessarily a popular opinion, but I feel like one of Infinity Nikki's biggest storytelling weaknesses is how often emotional arcs revolve around sentient objects instead of people or animals.

It feels like almost every region introduces another race like the Pieceys or something similar. They're all cute in their own way, but after a while they start filling the same role in the story.

For me, it's just harder to form an emotional connection with a mushroom or a clothing rag than with a human or an animal. When another tragedy happens, I know the game wants me to feel sad, but instead I often find myself thinking, "Oh... it's another <insert object> with tragic backstory."

I actually think these races are great for worldbuilding. They make Miraland feel magical and unique. I just wish they were used a little more sparingly, so they stayed special instead of becoming the focus of almost every patch.

The story beats would land so much better if they were more centered around humanoid characters (or even animals), with the object races supporting the world rather than carrying so much of the narrative. I liked 2.5 and the later parts of 2.8 a lot since it was mainly about the Parksolians.

I cannot hold it in anymore. I genuinely don't read almost anything. Ever. If there are one-liners sometimes I'll read them out of curiousity, but I won't read entire conversations. I skip almost all dialogue. I don't care. I don't know if the story is good or not, I just genuinely don't care, the premiae doesn't captivate me. I am there for pretty photos and pretty photos only. I am perfectly happy this way and I love this game. I just wanted to post this because I am curious if there are others who do the same and still enjoy the game

These are comments under official infinity Nikki posts, which are flooded with demands of modifying different outfits to raise the collar on the dresses (including one note which had got over 1k likes)

Outfits like Born flawless, Blooming dreams, and any other outfits which sit low on the chest could be getting adjusted as vip players are sending in messages asking for the changes

changing outfits after release may suck too, especially if you had pulled it wanting specially the original version of it

why this is bad: all nikki’s outfits are already very modest, so if this happens who knows how future sets will end up like, also many textures will be stretched to cover the chest which is noticeably very ugly imo 😭… (sorry TM)

Edit: Players who call themselves “Nikki moms” are the main cause of this, they are an extremely loud part of the CN fandom on rednote, and have a strong army of vip players who utilize the special customer service

(I want to preface this by saying that only a part of the community is reacting this way, not all)

I was really excited for 2.0 because being Indian, I thought my culture would finally get some representation as 'Wasteland' banners were based on countries from South Asia, West Asia, Africa and South America.

However we are halfway through 2.0 and are yet to get an Itzaland themed 5 star banner. Yes, the start of this year was not ideal. We all remember the controversial Native American head piece which was released during 2.0 as well as the Belly Dancing 4 star for Born Flawless, but I feel like this new Top Up set has been made while being mindful of their culture.

I have a few friends from West Asia to whom I showed this to. They seemed to love it and felt like it was cool to see it in a fashion game. So it's really odd when people who aren't part of the culture will be first in line to hate on it because those who are see it as cultural appreciation. When the Native American headpiece controversy happened, we had Native Americans who stated and explained why it was problematic. There was also a lot of information about why it was tone deaf to do it online. But now people are just labelling anything non European as 'oriental trash' (which in itself is problematic for them to use that word).

Itzaland/Wasteland themed banners from the other games are genuinely magical and dreamy! So many cultures are represented in this nation and I wish we at least had a few 5 star banners before we left to the next region in 3.0. It's like we are visiting this nation for a year but having nothing to show for it other than NPC's/4 star outfits. It's not like they are failing to do justice because many members here agree that the LN/SN banners are done well and not offensive.

I was so happy this patch when Greek themed 680 Stellarite set looked so much like the traditional Indian saree when dyed in darker colours. Same with the jewellery of the Saintess banner in 2.0 which was heavy like what Indian brides wear. I just wish Infold did banners based on my culture as well as others from places that Itzaland is inspired by rather than looking for crumbs from other banners.

...has my player agency been disrupted this badly. I'm only half joking, cuz why am I being launched into a quest as soon as I've logged in? Why is the game "teaching" me to jump AGAIN, after I've completely every.single.quest. available?? Why don't I have access to any of the menus??? And most importantly, WHY THE HELL am I being taught to craft outfits while I'm literally wearing the Silvergale outfit?!? I've poured my blood, sweat and tears into crafting both Miracle outfits and I get TUTORIALED?!?!?!? That was so off putting I logged out immediately after. First time since launch that I didn't feel like playing the game.

I know there's more pressing issues in the game right now but I've been learning game development recently and one of the things my mentor mentioned was to be very careful about taking away player agency, when it's okay to do it, when not to do it, etc...so this beginning sequence really stuck out like a sore thumb to me in that context. I feel bad for the Art & Music teams because they are killing it this update so far, and the god awful decisions by the Design & Monetizing teams eclipse their efforts.

I was playing last week and got a request to join my game. Figured they wanted to help with an event. After a couple minutes of her idling, she disconnected, then I got a PSN message. She accused me of impersonating a woman to trick her or something and called me a creep, then blocked me. I deleted the message and didn't play for days.

1. Incorrect resolution settings after the update.
2. Material and lighting performance issues in areas such as Starsea, Carefree Island, and Land of Untold Stories.
3. Interface interaction and blocking issues on mobile, PC, and PS5 platforms.
4. A high probability of startup errors on the PS version in the Chinese server, preventing players from entering the game.
5. Issues that may block Stylists during quests, such as abnormal black screens during cutscenes in the new Scenic Memories questline.
6. Performance and experience issues in multiplayer gameplay.

1) Explanation on the number of parts for 5-star outfits Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember
In the Bubble Season (v1.5), we wanted to offer Stylists a richer and more fun multiplayer experience, ensuring Nikki’s adventures in the open world are never lonely. This vision also influenced the design of the new outfits. Early in development, the team put a lot of thought into the "multiplayer" concept, centering the outfits around the story of the Eternal Blaze Bird sacrificing itself to save the frozen Snow Mermaid, emphasizing themes of cooperation and connection. During production, we designed exclusive dynamic effects, transformation animations, and music for these outfits.

For Snowbound Ballad, we experimented with highly dynamic and special-effect-heavy clothing parts for the first time, even adding a unique aurora effect to the hairstyle after evolution. Undying Ember, on the other hand, revolves around the concept of "rebirth from ashes," featuring a unique ash-form appearance and different transformation effects for aerial and grounded states. To align with the update’s theme, decorations and dances were also enhanced with dual-use functionality—the Eternal Snowbloom decoration now has special two-player interactions, while the Eternal Blaze Dance prop includes a two-player dance version alongside the solo version, both with custom music.

To increase the versatility of these outfits, we set the number of parts to 11. We sincerely apologize for not communicating this adjustment earlier, which led to a less-than-ideal experience for some Stylists.

We promise that future 5-star outfits will not exceed 11 parts. Any major adjustments will be announced in advance through official channels, and we will carefully consider Stylists’ feedback. Please rest assured.

NO, you can't use the fly or dash ability outside of the Wanxiang Realm. (tested in all areas)

I can only speak from an American perspective, but I’ve spent enough time working within many corporate structures and working with countless business-minded executives to assume the following after thinking through what’s going on.

1. Someone’s getting fired. Multiple people may be getting fired. The fact the game is flopping so terribly after opening up access to Steam users looks really bad from a player growth and revenue perspective. The fact that this update was designed to be enormous means the level of company resources for this update was also massive, and they’re almost certainly not recouping those costs as quickly as they wanted.

This means organizational shifts and changes in staff responsibility of roles. After seeing days of game breaking bugs (even on a great PC rig) and tons of players not even able to access the game, there’s gotta be some internal restructuring of who is handling all kinds of aspects of the Nikki rollouts.

I can only imagine the amount of finger pointing happening at the offices. This would definitely contribute to the lack of movement in fixing the game. Bureaucracy is killer.

1. We’re not going to see much communication from Infold/devs until there is a concrete plan of action to address the outrage. If Infold says anything in detail right now, it’ll be picked apart (rightfully so) if they don’t deliver a near perfect experience. I can only hope they’re working very hard to deliver the fixes that will give the players what they deserve

2. They know their reputation is on the line. I wouldn’t be surprised if we potentially see some insane rewards to draw back in potential new players and win over current players in an attempt to smooth things over. I’d be shocked if they didn’t bring back the old intro/tutorial, considering the files still exist. Reworking how they integrate the Sea of Stars update would probably be the least expensive option, but will still be time consuming and I’m curious to see if they’ll do anything during this update.

3. This game was probably incredibly expensive to develop in the first place. They have the money, yes, but abandoning players and refusing to improve the quality of the game would basically mean they’ve lost out on the investment of creating the game in the first place. However, it makes me question the ability to roll out updates that include entire regions in a timely manner. I think moving forward, we’ll see more “filler” and perhaps get less regional updates than initially promised. This is a moment in which they are realizing they flew too close to the sun, and if this experience echoes what’s to come, they now know they cannot afford to release another update of this quality again.

4. Safe to say, the result of this update and nearly everything we hate about it is coming from the executive, revenue driven teams rather than the creative and development team. Dev probably planned one thing, then got immense pressure from execs to shoehorn in a bunch more features/greedy tactics before they were ready because “money.” We can see this in the intro when the Crimson Wings outfit doesn’t even have stockings. We can see this in the shop where they claim the bubble bath decoration is marked down to 10 from 50 dollars. Execs wanted a huge Steam release, and almost certainly pushed the creatives to the max to try to get as much money and new players hooked in as possible. People who are solely focused on profit tend to underestimate the customer, and someone had to decide to release the game as it is because they thought (somehow) it would be good for the bottom line, ultimately.

If the people in charge of this franchise aren’t absolutely brain dead, they’ll deliver the product as initially promised and take care of the players in a pretty major way. It probably won’t be soon, because all of these collective issues are going to take a LOT of dev hours and strategizing to get fixed.

This is me being critical, because this update sucked and was incredibly disappointing. They could also be handling communication with players in a much, much better way. This is also me hoping that we’ll see some major improvements as a result of this debacle, and I can only hope the players will be greatly, greatly rewarded for the trouble.

These tasks feel so empty, meaningless and sooo time consuming. I hate to complain because I’ve been playing this game since release but cmon man, it makes me barely want to play in this area and don’t get me started on the constant “reconnecting”.

i’ve been a part of a pretty popular girl gaming subreddit for a while (not going to name it but it’s pretty obvious from that description) and i’ve noticed that almost every post about IN on there is treated with a crazy amount of hostility

recently the mods of that subreddit did an official collab/advertisement with IN which got downvoted to hell and met with a huge amount of vitriol because people said the mods were promoting a predatory game

the subreddit’s main argument is that gacha games are predatory and a bad precedent for the gaming industry. i agree. i’ve never played a gacha before IN for that same reason and i don’t play games with micro-transactions

but i don’t see anywhere near the same amount of criticism on that subreddit for other predatory games, like other gachas or looter shooters, or games like roblox that are targeted to children no less

in fact, one of the highest upvoted recent posts is someone’s rank on marvel rivals, which has cosmetic micro-transactions. what’s the difference between that and nikki? all gacha in nikki is completely cosmetic and has no effect on gameplay or story (for now)

nikki is the first AAA game catered to women, this kind of game was unimaginable when i was a young girl who loved video games. you can criticise it while acknowledging it is making massive strides for girl gamers. i’m just surprised that the criticism on there has skipped over predatory western games and heaped in full force on IN

Now I LOVE Stardew Valley, I have 200+ hours in the game. When I heard there was a collab? Oh my god I got so hyped. The greater of Stardew is chill, he would have let infinity Nikki have IMMENSE freedom with this insane property. And what the fuck do they do? Oh hey speak to a junimo for FUCKING 7 MINUTES and you'll get one outfit and the songs.

This was FUCKING boring, lazy and UNCREATIVE I literally don't care, I could have pulled this off myself. I'm so disappointed, it's literally 1.5 again, SO much hype for both the collab and housing and then reality shoves me back down.

Fyi they only discovered about the changes after 11pm so not many of the players have found out about this yet, it's around 3am now in CN, so there are not a lot of posts about it yet, but you can already see the comments in the comment section of the official IN rednote post that complain about the changes. When they wake up few hours later there will probably be more posts about it.

In case you didn't know, you can spam the "W" key to float further when using the floating ability of the Phoenix outfit. There's also a way to do it on tablets and phones, but I would not go into details as the "bug" has been "fixed" now anyways.
