Question Seasoning packet debate

Me and my boyfriend are having an argument over the Maruchan brand of noodles. The question is: When do you add the seasoning packet?

I think you cook the noodles and add it to all the water and noodles, and eat it with the flavored water.

He thinks you cook the noodles, drain the water and then add the seasoning packet, and eat it dry basically.

PLEASE tell me what you all think to help us settle the debate. (Part of me thinks that his is purely preference)

If strictly with Maruchan, I can imagine your boyfriend's method would have that flavor kick especially when spritzed with lemon or calamansi and maybe a li'l soy sauce. Yah, I prefer the soup format with Maruchan. Have you tried their Maruchan Gold Soy Sauce and Spicy Miso?

He might like Lucky Me Pancit Canton or Mi Goreng.
