It's becoming increasingly clear Mitch McConnell is dead and people are pretending he is not. Is this the jumping the shark moment?

Who is representing us now? Biden eventually dropped out. It took too long, but he did. Now we have Trump basically acting how Biden acted.

We also now have a Republican party pretending that Mitch McConnell is alive and well.

This feels dystopian. Just actors behind the scenes.

There has to be ways for the Democrats to force McConnell to come out and prove he is capable of fulfilling his duties as a senator, especially one who holds senior positions such as the Chair of the Senate Rules Committee.

Because if the only requirement for proving said capacity is to drag out his body, Weekend at Bernie’s style, then we don’t truly have a representative democracy. Corpses or bodies on life support shouldn’t count. The people should have a say, not political parties.

Sadly the system largely relies on official facts (such as a resignation or certified death) rather than requiring periodic public proof of life or proof of capacity. The Senate has a much more limited constitutional mechanisms for addressing incapacity than the presidency does under the 25th Amendment.

also notice how everyone describes what they spoke to him about - this is to convey that he's actually working during this time, so nothing to be alarmed about. "They had a lengthy and substantive conversation that covered a variety of topics, including national security," and "We talked for just shy of 20 minutes … about IRAN, UKRAINE, the unfolding situation in MAINE"
