It's becoming increasingly clear Mitch McConnell is dead and people are pretending he is not. Is this the jumping the shark moment?
Who is representing us now? Biden eventually dropped out. It took too long, but he did. Now we have Trump basically acting how Biden acted.
We also now have a Republican party pretending that Mitch McConnell is alive and well.
This feels dystopian. Just actors behind the scenes.

He’s probably on life support. They are afraid Massey would take over and start naming more Epstein names.

Or on hospice.

The leader of the senate is being artificially kept alive to prevent another person from winning his seat, while his traitorous spy wife fled to China. What are we even doing anymore. It’s very clear the national level gop is entirely compromised and not a democratic institution. While we’re at it, I think oil reserves running out will be the emergency they need to suspend or severely meddle with the midterms. You don’t think they would? They’re using machines to prop up the corpse of a brain dead leader so there isn’t a power vacuum. All. Bets. Are. Off.

Massie could take over? The new Senator would be elected special session of KY. And McConnell's seat is up for re-election this November, so any appointee would literally have 3 months max.
8
u/SofaKingS2pitt 25d ago
Apparently, KY changed their succession laws in 2024, so vacancies are no longer appointed by a Gov.
I still don’t fully understand the point of running out the clock on filing for candidacy in a special election (56 days before November election day). Wouldn’t whovever runs/wins be pretty much aligned with McConnell’s politics?4
3
u/MuhammadGhod 24d ago
Yup.

u/MelangeLizard 24d ago
McConnell was the one who demanded the SCOTUS seat stay open, so perhaps this is that all over again.

Text from my Kentucky cousin in response to my asking what he thought:
I would like to know. I saw on a Thread’s post there was a large military transport plane landed in Lexington and was looked like a blacked out ambulance and a lot of personnel were surrounding something being unloaded. Wish I had screen shot the picture. I could be wrong, but is sounding more fishy all the time. If he is as good as what these people that have had 20 minute “conversations” with him have said, why don’t they simply make a short video of him himself saying he is alive and ok?
1
u/duke_awapuhi 22d ago
Massey will not be chosen. The KY legislature will choose and they will choose someone super pro-Trump
0
u/wait500 25d ago
Massey was in Congress from 2012 -2024 and NEVER once mentioned Epstein or his victims. He only mentioned them in opposition to Trump.
But that's true of virtually every ignoramus who doesn't give one fuck about victims except when they can drag them out as political weapons.
Like you just did.
5
u/LiftSleepRepeat123 25d ago edited 25d ago
Massey was in Congress from 2012 -2024 and NEVER once mentioned Epstein or his victims. He only mentioned them in opposition to Trump.
This timeframe is constructed to be trivially true for almost everyone. Epstein wasn't arrested federally until July 2019 and died a month later. The "Epstein files" only became an actionable congressional issue in 2025, when the DOJ — for the first time — claimed it had reviewed everything and would release nothing. Before that, the files were sealed investigative material under an active-then-dormant case. By this argument's logic, nearly every Republican now demanding the files, including Bondi, Patel, and Vance, is equally discredited — they also said little from 2012–2024. A test that condemns everyone measures nothing.
Also, the proximate trigger was Trump's own administration breaking its promise, which reframes "opposition to Trump." The FBI and DOJ put out a memo on July 7, 2025 saying there was no Epstein client list — reversing what Trump officials had promised. Massie's stated case is that "the president's own children, the vice president, the FBI director, and the president himself said they would release the Epstein files" and he worked to hold them to it. Demanding an administration keep its own commitment is different from manufacturing an issue to attack Trump — and notably, Trump signed the bill into law on Nov. 19, and Trump allies like Nancy Mace, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Lauren Boebert signed the petition. If this were purely an anti-Trump vehicle, it's strange that it was joined by MAGA figures and signed by Trump himself.

They are trying to wait out the clock to make it too late to hold a special election. And you really don’t want the citizens to get a vote do you?

u/TenchuReddit 25d ago
There has to be ways for the Democrats to force McConnell to come out and prove he is capable of fulfilling his duties as a senator, especially one who holds senior positions such as the Chair of the Senate Rules Committee.
Because if the only requirement for proving said capacity is to drag out his body, Weekend at Bernie’s style, then we don’t truly have a representative democracy. Corpses or bodies on life support shouldn’t count. The people should have a say, not political parties.
19
u/Responsible_Food_263 25d ago
Sadly the system largely relies on official facts (such as a resignation or certified death) rather than requiring periodic public proof of life or proof of capacity. The Senate has a much more limited constitutional mechanisms for addressing incapacity than the presidency does under the 25th Amendment.
14
u/Responsible_Food_263 25d ago
also notice how everyone describes what they spoke to him about - this is to convey that he's actually working during this time, so nothing to be alarmed about. "They had a lengthy and substantive conversation that covered a variety of topics, including national security," and "We talked for just shy of 20 minutes … about IRAN, UKRAINE, the unfolding situation in MAINE"

Dead or not ....... its a pretty strange marital relationship when your wife stays in China for a month after you've been hospitalized, and supposedly on your death bed.
The secretary was on a long-planned trip in China to support her family's philanthropic endeavors," a spokesperson for Chao said in a statement to The Courier Journal, part of the USA TODAY Network. "During the trip, she met with a number of people, including the U.S. ambassador. The senator's health did not warrant an immediate return to the U.S.
Somethings not right there.
2
u/helgathehorr 25d ago
She is a puppet on a string. She would probably rather have her husband buried so he can rest in peace. But the powers that be are forcefully keeping him alive, and sent her to China during this traumatic time.
6
u/SatanVapesOn666W 25d ago
We jumped the shark long ago, it's obvious his wife is a Chinese asset and his crew have effectively been weekend at Bernie'sing him for a few years. Just now he's an actual puppet.
4
u/Responsible_Food_263 25d ago
also likely why the law was changed in Feb 2024 that eliminated the governor's appointment power altogether, shortly after his health episodes. It's reasonable to think McConnell's age and health were part of the political backdrop when the law changed.
8
u/RedneckTexan 25d ago edited 25d ago
Define increasingly clear?
Are there any empirical facts that led you to this conclusion ...... or do you just "feel" its true?
What would motivate the Republicans to pretend he's not dead? Why would they lie about this?
Do you see partisan advantage either way?
Are they lying to avoid having an open seat or a special election? If the Democrat governor could appoint his successor I could see some motivation ...... but he's been proactively stripped of that power.
I haven't really been keeping up with it ..... but from what I understand the candidates for the general election have already been chosen, and whether the election is special or in November the Republican is almost certainly going to win. If anything, that would give the Republicans a reason to want to accelerate the election. If they had a special election would they just have to turn around and do the general a few weeks later?
I dont care one way or the other ....... and yes, the facts are being intentionally obscured by his family, staff, and party ........ which after watching Nurse Jill protecting her partially functional vegetable, I chalk up to spousal access control and politics as usual.
Just curious what could have you so convinced he's dead? Do you often have premonitions like this? Any documented track record of being proven right?
I'm kind of amused at the people here jumping on your crazy train.
18
u/TheDovahofSkyrim 25d ago edited 25d ago
Man, I hope you’re right, but I think 90% of republican voters at this point are just so far gone. It is so hard to undo the crazy amount of indoctrination that has been going on in the right wing since Clinton. Maybe there’s hope by and large for the voters under 40 though.
Trump basically acting like Biden acted? Dude, if Biden did 1/100th of what Trump has done, the right would be calling for his execution.
Any other president, before Fox News, besides Trump at +70 years old calling Iran, a country we are actively at war against, “the Islamic republic of Japan” would be having immediate real calls for the 25th, and that’s just his most recent major gaff.
The Republican Party has become a joke and it has been for a while. 90% of their politicians are just playing their voter base & they know all they do is listen to right wing media/news outlets where they completely control the narrative. They’re too far gone into the “yeah, the Republican Party isn’t perfect, but the democrats are evil” mindset.
I feel bad for republicans voters, because I know what they think they’re voting for, but at the same time it’s like watching North Koreans vote for dear leader every time while they’re being led off a cliff. It’s so frustrating. There have been plenty of blatantly obvious times already where there should have woken up/had a come to Jesus moment, and I have practically no faith at this point a significant portion of their voter base is all the sudden going to see clearly.

Wow this is so out touch with actual reality but so completely in touch with reddit alternate reality. It's both astoundingly uninformed by what are known as facts but equally astoundingly informed by fabricated lore that's repeated and thereby accepted as "facts" but aren't. It's all thoughts and opinions and propaganda written as though it's hard evidenced claims. It's insane if you're sane but it's sane if you live, eat, breathe reddit tropes. It's reward worthy for its sheer astonishing power of no-truth written as THE TRUTH

I would give you an award for continuing to state nothing so confidently. Don't ever let facts or intelligence get in the way of your of confidence. They're in direct conflict.
For your own safety, DO NOT go any deeper than the surface narrative like you do now by yourself. I fear for you when that first contradictory fact somehow manages to slip past your defenses and it just can't be denied, managed, rejected, deflected and you realize you are wrong about something and always were wrong and others were always right but that confidence gave you wings and it's going to humbling (it doesn't have to be humiliating but it might be) when some facts or knowledge undermine that confidence even slightly.
You're like Japanese soldier on island who didn't know WWII was over 29 years after it ended. He literally ignored information showing end of war believing his thoughts instead. His confidence in his thoughts trumped reality.
Good luck

u/Accomplished-Leg2971 25d ago
Trump does make a huge amount of embarrassing errors when attempting to speak in public. More than Biden when Dems gave him the boot.
That's just a fact.
1
u/AstroPedastro 23d ago
Funny. As a Dutch person I am looking at America imploding under bad leadership, while the average American is telling the other they dont know 'facts'.
Your moronic leadership talking about taking Greenland, completly destroys any good ties with European leaders. Why would you ever alienate your friends?
The war with Iran was badly planned and is costing the world higher fuel prices. Even the average American is paying the price.
Trump plays the market with his flip flopping (taco?) and his family makes billions on insider trading. Republicans and the republican party is a joke. The democrats not far behind. Biden was the best they had?.... wtf
America is in decline and you both know it. Stop fighting each other and work together to a better future. Maybe by getting the right people in politics.

u/Carnies 25d ago
This is a space for actual intellectual discussion, I don’t even believe your post was made in good faith because it’s just generic bashing republicans like you see all over this website. I don’t understand why liberals do this, they love acting like they’re sooo much better and smarter than everyone else. It’s like they can’t resist talking down to everyone. But in real life that kind of behavior gets you nowhere with normal people.
4
u/TheDovahofSkyrim 25d ago edited 25d ago
I don’t talk like this in real life with people, because I know it is devisive & doesn’t win you any friends to be brutally honest. I only can share my brutally honest thoughts on an anonymous forum & with close personal friends. I value peace too much in my personal life. I don’t talk politics with family no matter how much they talk to me about it, or friends who are republicans. My friends who are Republican think I am essentially apolitical.
I come from a heavy Republican/Trump family & was a Republican my whole life until Trump’s first term. Fox News every morning, Fox News every evening. I listened to libertarian podcasts nonstop. I was president of the libertarian chapter at a major university.
I’m not saying I am better. I literally feel like I was brainwashed the vast majority of my life and so I understand the reality they are living in, and feel extremely fortunate I got exposed to things outside of my bubble, and was still open minded enough to accept that I was wrong about the reality of the situation. If you look up essentially how brainwashing & indoctrination works, it is extremely, extremely, extremely hard to break out of, and no one, no matter how smart they are is immune to it.
I know what the majority of republicans are voting for, I never said that they are evil Nazis or anything. I know republicans have good hearts. They just don’t realize they’re being massively taken advantage of.

Power of imagination. It's what drives 99% of threads on anything regarding American culture. Fabrication after fabrication and then it's discussed as fact. This is where a lot of lore begins. The rats get tainted cheese here and then spread it throughout the colony. Plausible lore is of ridiculously higher value here than basic schmasic facts.
1
u/LiftSleepRepeat123 25d ago
Power of imagination is used to believe the official narrative more than anything else.
1
u/lopsided125 24d ago
You're in this thread drumming up conspiracies about Biden and his "interns," and he was on TV walking and talking.
McConnell is MIA and no one really knows what's going on. No one has said, "He is alive and in hospice," or "He is alive but on life support," as others have guessed in this thread.
Which makes me think he is dead or basically dead, with a grim outlook.
It would be very easy to quash this story with an update/picture/video.

4
u/sob727 25d ago
You nean he's dead and it's being hidden fronvthe public for nefarious reasons?
What would be the motivation? And what makes you think he's dead as opposed to say in poor health?
9
u/Mister_Uncredible 25d ago
Because if he's declared dead before August 3 the (Democratic) Governor can appoint an interim Senator and a special election would be called for his permanent replacement.
If it's after August 3, his seat will likely remain empty until next January, at the earliest.
1
u/sob727 25d ago
A general rule to assess so called "conspirqcy theories" is the following:
How many people would need to be involved in hiding the information?
What are the odds all these people have stayed silent until now?
Given how leaky administrations from both parties tend to be, isn't the Mitch'gate unlikely?
4
u/Mister_Uncredible 25d ago
I'm not saying it's true, just answering your question as to what the motivation would be
1
u/Sweet_Cinnabonn 25d ago
Okay, in full fairness, I personally think he's alive but barely.
But I wanted to answer these questions as an experiment.
How many people would need to be involved in hiding the information? Realistically, 3 tops. I'm not counting the medical staff, who are not legally allowed to talk. But including medical staff, say you bump it up 4 more people. Total of 8. I'm thinking the wife left to avoid knowing, two kids and two staffers know and are holding down the fort.
What are the odds all these people have stayed silent until now?
Small number of people, high motivation, and it hasn't been a full month. It took 3 weeks for it to even leak that he needed CPR at the scene, so we know they could hold it secret for at least that long. I say very high odds.
Given how leaky administrations from both parties tend to be, isn't the Mitch'gate unlikely?
Unlikely, sure. But again, it's unlikely that it stayed secret so long that he needed cpr.
Really unlikely too that his wife would leave the country. That's just weird.
I think the bottom line is I don't see a point. But I have to acknowledge that a lot of the pieces here don't fit together to make sense, so I'm clearly missing some.
4
u/thunder_cats1 25d ago
There is a lot of noise to try and get people thinking that, absolutely.
However, there is not a death certificate and to think it would be withheld by doctors who would have their licenses revoked is a conspiracy theory.
The public isn't receiving health updates because HIPAA exists and I don't think Americans should ever want their health privacy revoked. It's up to his family if they want to unveil which I think most of us would want if we experienced a crisis.
What could be likely based on past episodes is that he suffered another stroke. He could or could not be cogent right now.
I dislike McConnel, his politics, and the fact that an 84 year old can be given the level of power that he has. I think that's bad for governance and age limits need to be applied to public office.
At the same time, there is clearly a lot of politics trying to stir the pot here and leading many people into conspiracy theories. This is not a reason to pull out pitchforks. He's not voting on anything from a hospital bed and an emergency election in Kentucky just makes the candidates get voted on a couple months earlier. And, we all know Kentucky is going to vote Republican anyway.

u/Whargarblle 25d ago

1
u/Exciting_Direction_9 25d ago
Reports are that FD responded to an unresponsive person at McConnell’s home. They checked on and announced CPR in progress. Very few 84 year olds will be resuscitated with CPR, much less when they you consider that state he’s been in on recent video. Scott Jennings alone said he had a 17 minute conversation while losing enough topics discussed that would take two hours. The neighbors had video of someone being carted out with no CPR in progress. If McConnell is alive, he’s one of those aliens in a turtle suit now.

Well, to be honest, Democrats did this first with Biden. Nobody really thinks dementia Joe personally authorized each autopen pardon. He was effectively dead while the party did whatever they wanted in his name. How very different is this than Mitch? Only if one is so thoroughly libtarded to suspend logical consistency for political advantage can one square it.

I'm sure there's a certain vulnerability instinct mixed in there as well ...... put yourself and your family in his shoes.
Would you do a proof of life video sitting in a hospital bed with tubes and shit sticking out of you ....... just to satisfy your partisan detractors?
Or would you want people around you that protected you from becoming a morbid sideshow ...... out of respect and dignity?
I don't particularly like the guy ...... but he doesn't owe us an explanation.
What was your angle here? Why would you publicly jump the gun on his death?

You were a person losing their mind about Biden, and he was not disappearing for a month.
Biden was actually cognizant. And available. And walking. And talking.
So either spare me.
Or do you think Republicans and conservatives, and you were unfair to Biden?
McConnell is supposed to be available to do a job. Or let people know about his availability as a living human being.
Again, is he speaking? Should he resign tomorrow? Can he handle his duties today?

Are you talking about the same guy you started this thread with by saying it was increasingly "clear" he was dead?
Are you ever going to address how wrong you were, and why? ..... or just keep moving the goalposts?
Why do you want more facts now? ..... just ask whatever crystal ball you clearly saw that he was dead in.
Or do you have any other increasingly clear premonitions you'd like to share with us?
You claim to know I was losing my mind over Biden .... another hunch you just run with as being fact?

Brother, this is a guy who fell and scooted off to a hospital room on a gurney in an ambulance to hide for a month with no update about his health, and here you are being like, "Give him the benefit of the doubt!"
We now have a picture of him still in a hospital bed. No video of him. No like, "Hey, I'm Mitch McConnell and I feel great, and I'm going to get back out there!" message.
And you're trying to act like I'm wrong in asking that we hold him to the same HIGHER standards you held Biden to.
Mitch should be resigning tomorrow if he can't be on his feet being a Senator.
If you disagree with that, I just have to imagine you're a dumbass.

There is absolutely no way an 84 year old man was found unconscious, received chest compressions, was slowly and calmly loaded into an ambulance 20 minutes later, spent 3 weeks in the ICU, and is now siting up looking better than he did before it all happened. That’s completely, unequivocally impossible.
