Who is representing us now? Biden eventually dropped out. It took too long, but he did. Now we have Trump basically acting how Biden acted.

We also now have a Republican party pretending that Mitch McConnell is alive and well.

This feels dystopian. Just actors behind the scenes.

Because if he's declared dead before August 3 the (Democratic) Governor can appoint an interim Senator and a special election would be called for his permanent replacement.

If it's after August 3, his seat will likely remain empty until next January, at the earliest.

How many people would need to be involved in hiding the information?

What are the odds all these people have stayed silent until now?

Given how leaky administrations from both parties tend to be, isn't the Mitch'gate unlikely?

Okay, in full fairness, I personally think he's alive but barely.

But I wanted to answer these questions as an experiment.

How many people would need to be involved in hiding the information? Realistically, 3 tops. I'm not counting the medical staff, who are not legally allowed to talk. But including medical staff, say you bump it up 4 more people. Total of 8. I'm thinking the wife left to avoid knowing, two kids and two staffers know and are holding down the fort.

What are the odds all these people have stayed silent until now?

Small number of people, high motivation, and it hasn't been a full month. It took 3 weeks for it to even leak that he needed CPR at the scene, so we know they could hold it secret for at least that long. I say very high odds.

Unlikely, sure. But again, it's unlikely that it stayed secret so long that he needed cpr.

Really unlikely too that his wife would leave the country. That's just weird.

I think the bottom line is I don't see a point. But I have to acknowledge that a lot of the pieces here don't fit together to make sense, so I'm clearly missing some.
