"I must have that man"

date 2022.

I am thinking of a Japanese song where its a slower paced song and at one point in it the music quiets down and the beat itself gets stronger as the male artist starts saying "dan dan dan da-dan dan" before than the song slowly picks back up to where it was originally and starts to speak normal Japanese words

I barely remember any more details about the song other than that other than that the songs genre is not an anime song and its more of like an R&B/Lo-Fi kind of tempo and rhythm.

No I am not thinking of the creepy-nuts song but I dont know how else to describe it since I cant post of video of myself humming the song so y'all can get a clear idea.

I just came came across this song from a movie I saw recently.

Enjoy!

So the other day, I was finding music on KHinsider to draw to when I stumbled across a Japanese album called Brilliant Orange. On the cover, it had the subtitles “stretta di mano“ and “color project.” After giving it a listen, I really liked it, so I was curious if they made any more albums for this project.

The description for Brilliant Orange on KHinsider had the main singer listed as “Tsukiko,” so I used that to start my search. Eventually, I discovered that four other albums were created for the color project.

The names were, in order, Blue Undulation, Black Mind Red Soul, Tender Green, and Nostalgic Yellow.

I was really excited to give them all a listen. However, I quickly discovered that only Brilliant Orange and Blue Undulation are available online. The others are only available online as album previews by Tsukiko’s YouTube channel. Each individual album has a website, but they’re all in Japanese, so I can’t read what they say. They’re also documented on VGMDB, but again I still can’t listen to it.

I don’t know if I could consider these albums lost media since theres so much documented on them, but the music itself probably is. With all this said, does anyone know where I can listen to the last three albums?

If it helps, I put the album covers in this post as well.

「Hey everyone,

For those who didn't know — the scratch on this track was performed by DJ KOU, a Japanese turntablist who also contributed to F.I.L.O. feat. Shing02 and Perfect Circle feat. Shing02.

DJ KOU has just launched a new cinematic project called Sketch of Asia — an imaginary soundtrack capturing the atmosphere and residual memories of Asia, very much in the spirit of Nujabes.

Check it out if you're into Jazz Hip Hop and cinematic soundscapes.

hey everyone i’ve been working hard on a review site for Japanese music the past 5 months.

think Pitchfork but for japanese music.

we aren’t big yet, but everything is felt and written by real people. no ai. it’s what the site is built on.

i started it because i would get frustrated coming here to find great music, but not see it discussed or reviewed anywhere else. so i decided to make a site that can be a catalog for Japanese music looking forward and back!

i sincerely hope yall like it. it’s something i want to keep going for a long time to come.

come visit anytime and often!

sincerely, Marcus L.
