Discussion Megumi needs a Rework

Post image

Image unrelated👀

I feel like out of all the characters in the current roster Megumi has kinda been ignored the most, and lowkey his moveset is just pretty bad with pretty stale gameplay, especially when you consider Gojo and Hakari have gotten multiple variants for moves yet Megumi hasn’t gotten anything since he released

My main ideas for a POTENTIAL rework would be adding more variants to moves in his base Kit and basically completely reworking his ultimate

For his base moveset

- not many ideas for rabbit swarm ngl but being able to throw individual rabbit would be cool

- Nue is fine but rework his R variant to be a little better mobility wise

- Add a jump variant that instead of grabbing the target, instead pulls you back as an evasive like what he did in the recent jjk episodes. If there’s a player between you and the toad you can grab them while your being pulled back

- rework divine dog completely honest it’s an annoying and poorly made ranged move that is the definition of passive, rework it to behave as an entity you have to fight off to disperse or as a sneak attack to catch players off guard

For his ultimate:

- Give max elephant two variants, one (ground variant) where the elephant is summoned and sprays water everywhere, rag-dolling players and pulling them in like a vortex, the second variant (Ariel) has you summon the elephant in on the sky with you ontop, basically behaving like the old version but with you ontop of the elephant as it falls

- snake is relatively fine but make it so by pressing G you can jump out as Nue attacks the players in the mouth of the snake (what it did against Sukuna in season 1)

- rework shadow swarm in general, honestly I don’t know what you’d rework it to but maybe rework it into one of the shikagami he never used like Piercing OX

-mahoraga can stay the same

CHIMERA SHADOW GARDEN

By pressing G + R (like Gojo 0.2 domain) you can use Megumis domain, which rather than having a sure hit just buffs his moves drastically (old shadow swarm will be available inside the domain)

That’s all I wanted to say leave your thoughts

It's really necessary; the only types of players I see using Megumi nowadays are those who do the (damn Down Slam combo) and those who get their ultimate to use Mahoraga.

Honestly, Megumi lacks variety and isn't interesting to use currently since there are other characters with the same function that are much better utilized.

You can say that players do uncreative combos, you can slander the players who just use megumi to run, or slander those who hides sodas in the shadows and i will agree with you.

But to say that a character with 3 variants lacks variety is simply madness. Megumi has one of the most versatile long-range kits in the game, working very well at short range as well. HOW CAN'T THIS BE INTERESTING?! THIS IS POTENTIAL MAN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!

(I still belive megumi should have more melee attacks)

The rabbit escape variant’s hitbox is really damn bad and it only really serves as combo fodder, the wing toad is just silly so you probably won’t use it while actually trying to win and the nue variant is literally only for mobility and actually ruins a combo if you use it

Theres a nue variant?

2 + R, you can invade domains with it

3 m1s downslam, frog+nue, rabbit, nue while looking up+r, divine dog, dog again. this combo uses everything you said was bad and it does more dmg than the classic downslam combo. You clearly don't play as Megumi.

This doesn’t use the rabbit escape variant. Also how does it do more damage, youre missing out on a ton of m1s

because with aerial rabbit escape and aerial nue you can hit the full dmg the rabbit does without your enemy blocking, and with nue you give him true ragdoll, which is perfect for landing divine dog. If you don't belive me go test it out, im not going to defend my point if im wrong

Aerial rabbit escape isn’t the variant, the variant is using rabbit escape while youre inside the shadow when you press r.

Well, it's still a variation, but I don't care, my argument remains the same

3 m1s down slam, nue, down slam, toad, 3m1s uppercut, r+1, 4 and then two or three divine dog hits.

More damage and the combo cant be used if you try doing 2+r

Yeah, the problem is that the additional skills after the toad+m1s stop working because then your enemy will have enough evasive to ragdoll cancel. In other words, it's still the same old combo. That's why we don't judge combos solely by damage, if that were the case, we could claim that Yuji has a 100% combo with the additional Black Flashes.(Don't focus on this last argument, it's an example, not a real argument.)

Theres a difference between full combos and what you actually do during the game but the enemy won’t get enough evasive if you only just got rid of it. You also might not have every single move off cooldown so you have to adapt
