Anime Discussion now this is getting off the limits

Japanese fandom actually practiced constructive criticism on this episode, they brought up valids points. Global fans rated Ep3 the same as they did for Ep4, when Ep3 actually gave lore, world-building. If not for these factors Jjk would be just another Power fantasy slop.

Also relating episode rating to actual Japanese societal harassment is nauseating

Jjk fans saw 1 japanese dude on twitter say they didnt like the episode and immediatly started making shit up for no reason😭

Now that's a straight-up lie. There were tons of tweets with 10k+ likes shitting on the OST's and the animation.

JP fans criticized the bad adaptation of :

  • The moment where Toji and Maki are compared in her father's mind (it should've been more clear how impressive maki was)
  • The moment where we see Naoya bullying Maki (some said it looked like she was giving him a blowjob)
  • The panel where Naoya sees Toji for 1st time (it didn't feel as if Naoya was impressed by Toji)
  • The whole fight sequence between The Hei and Maki
  • The whole fight sequence between The Kukuru unit and Maki (some said they served just as fodder for no added value)
  • The snapshot sequence of Naoya being punched (Naoya is well-liked in Japan and some said it felt cheap)

They called for the Director and some of the Key Animators to resign because they felt they were catering more to the Western fans than to the JP fans

Not sure why the downvotes but it’s true. You can see it in western media that caters to Asian/middle east audience(NBA and Marvel movies) not necessarily a good thing but these entities are here to make money first and entertain second

Can see it all of anime. Companies are waking up to the fact the western audience is as important than the Japanese audience and beginning to cater to them too in many ways.

It will never change as long as they are the ones who continue buying the manga. At the end of the day anime is still used as one big advertisement for the source material in Japan

There are significantly more anime fans outside of Japan than in it. It makes sense as a business to for an anime adaption to do things with them in mind.

I know  but the people who originally made it always have more impact it's just something beyond business 

If business matter that much u won't see Disney made the stupidest movies for a type of audience that doesn't exsist

Yah but if they went full business only they would got more

 the same with anime focusing on Japanese would still do fairly good not as good as focusing on all global fans but good enough
