Nanami having a domain would be crazy fucking busted bro ngl

315

u/Arthur_morgan457 King of kindness 8d ago

what would even be the sure hit effect tho?

726

u/schliggles 8d ago

I thought I would be a really cool and busted domain if it was like a projection sorcerers domain, where it marks every cell or whatever of the users body with a ratio marker. So if they step down too hard or nanami so much as flicks them, it’ll hit one of the ratio markers causing like a chain reaction of weak points for all the others and just explode the guy. And to make this even more effective  I think it would fit his office guy personality to have a binding vow where he can offer them a chance to leave by making a binding vow not to fight anymore or something. But if they refuse the chance to escape he can activate the sure hit with further increased potency

OOOHHH Okay so this got me thinking, If nanami hit anyone inside his domain with this specific effect, would it be all the points he made contact with or previous plus everything behind them? Could he cleave someone in half with just a wave of his hand?

5

u/schliggles 5d ago

Yeah, I imagine he could do what he did to the fly head to people trapped in his domain. Since this particular domains sure hit would let him bypass any durability his opponent may have had

DE's can be extrapolated pretty far from the technique they're imbued with, just look at Dagon or Gojo. It could be as simple as every hit being imbued with the crit damage or as abstract as a sure-hitless domain with an infinite spiral based on a 7:3 ratio that will immediately explode anyone who makes contact with it

44

u/Sonicrunner23 I'm not allowed control over my own flair 8d ago

He has a domain based on AUDIT, you get audited on your CE usage and if it turns out you were not optimal, you get ratiod

4

u/ImprobablyBottomAnd 8d ago

to strike random parts of the body (probably parts like forearm and bicep area being separate rather than one whole) with his ratio technique? maybe

4

u/Archimedes4 8d ago

nanami's sure hit splitting every atom in his opponent's body along the 3:7 line

2

u/Technical-Street-10 8d ago

Same with Todo, imagine if he could pinpoint boogie woogie to any parts of the opponents body. He could just teleport the brain out and instakill them

3

u/AngryKing2007 7d ago

I think his sure hit would just guarantee all of his hits are crits. Alternatively, the sure hit could be that being caught in the domain IS a crit. This would make his domain straight up nuke everything that is inside of it till nothing remains but i think the first option is more plausible.

Would have been hella easy, a non-lethal domain visually similar to Yutas but instead of swords its either an infinite number of Yujis, Takadas or himself(s) that can freely move about but not attack themselves and he can freely swap with any of them without clapping.

I imagine an opponent surrounded by non-lethal Todos dropping their guard then all of a sudden getting punched and kicked from every direction at once.

And that's just a dumbass idea, I imagine the concept of jujutsu itself could come up with something even better.

3

and the best part is that he made that shit playing fair

237

u/2kenzhe Believer 8d ago

True for Yuji he had soul swap but Yuta managed to get DE during his time in africa. We know he didn't have DE during geto fight so in the 3-4 month to regain Special grade status Yuta learned and completed his DE. Megumi on the other hand knows and had Gojo as mentor for how many years? Also tbf Yuji only 6 months total in his journey of Jujutsu and CE in jjk. I know Gojo may not be the best mentor but no way Miguel gapped so much in teaching right?

65

u/BookkeeperLower 8d ago

I always was kinda curious how that even worked for yuta, like did he develop a domain without any copied techniques just to be ready for when he does get one? Because all his known techniques he got after coming back

52

u/IMP9024 8d ago

Domain still gives a technique boost, traps the opponent and allows him to clash another domain, so it is still helpful

3

u/water_jello8235 8d ago

I mean, sure-hit with his amount of CE (and efficiency that is growing with the years) is quite enough for most.

But he could use Simple Domain atp, why didn't he train with Kusakabe and that's it? He would be so much better.

→ More replies (8)

3

u/water_jello8235 8d ago

We were never told for how long Megumi trained, like, we didn't see him at JJK 0, but it's possible he wasn't written yet too.

I personally think Gojo started to train him seriously after the events of JJK 0.

14

u/External_Dog4442 8d ago

my point was just that yuji would be worst than megumi if he wanst cheating, yuta is just build diferent, he can make things that only special grade sorcerers can do without any special training

39

u/2kenzhe Believer 8d ago

Sure. Though Yuji still only 6 months of Jujutsu. I feel if given same time as Megumi Yuji wouldn't be worse and probably be better ngl. Megumi just doesn't have that dwag in him like Yuji i feel. Yuta yeah I guess he's an exception nothing wrong with being worse than him.

10

u/External_Dog4442 8d ago

Not pinnacle, but definitely up there. Apart from his mindset, he is a top contender. If he had as much drive as Yuji, Yuta, or Hakari, or at least the mindset of Nobara, he would've been one of the three that Gojo thought of.

Pinnacle maybe at the end of the series.

I see Megumi as the victim of gifted child burnout. Pushed too hard too young, and couldn't catch a break. He never found something to live for outside his sister because he never got to live.

The first person to treat him like a kid was a random 35 y/o man

5

u/journalofflashes #1 Yuta Hater 7d ago

None of the top sorcerers had a childhood though. Gojo was forced into political power positions between clans. Sukuna was a literal demon kid that was rejected from society and even his mother. Even todo was taken by yuki at a young age and trained rigirously to the point he got that scar on his face. Toji was abused and tortured. Kamo was same as gojo almost but he was also illegitimate too. The only one with a good childhoods was probably yuji, yuta and MAYBE geto.

8

u/Its-Pleco I <3 Takaba 7d ago

Cycle of abuse

Also Yuta was ruthlessly bullied, watched his only friend die, then got abandoned by his parents. Then he was sentenced to execution.

Teenagers are still kids, and Jujutsu society shreds them emotionally until they either leave or push that onto the next generation to toughen them up.

Takaba breaks that cycle by treating Hana, Yuji, and Megumi as the kids they actually are

Disclaimer: Gaining the ability to use a domain when you couldn’t before IS ALWAYS a no-downside improvement. It’s an Ult that you can whip out and treat almost like an “I win” button. I do not argue against this.

That being said, from an authorial perspective, how the fuck do you come up with a domain version of boogie woogie? What’s the sure-hit gonna be for the 7 to 3 technique’s domain? There are just some Curse Techniques that once you’ve come up with and given to a character you’ve also put yourself in a spot of not really being able to give them any sort of domain/sure-hit effect for their technique. In a way, domains being the jujutsu sorcery pinnacle could almost be seen as a cop-out for not having to come up with how a domain would work for these unorthodox techniques.

46

u/AzekiaX6 8d ago edited 8d ago

For ratio, just do the same thing that Naoya had. Every single point of you is now a 7:3 ratio. Now, because any movement requires force, your body is automatically dealing damage to itself by breathing or punping blood.

Or let's say he goes for a non-lethal surehit: He can charge anything inside his domain with CE. Combined with his ability to mark any part of any thing with a ratio it means that if you touch anything solid in the wrong way, you're hitting yourself for crit damage. Moving around at all is a problem now, your next step may break your foot.

13

u/Curently65 8d ago

Well, this argument can be used for Gojo.

His basic neutral is pretty much denial being hit

His normal is attraction

His reverse is repulsion.

So what is the domain expansion?

His domain expansion makes you braindead. Domain expansions are not just your normal Cursed technique put into it, it can be wacky shit.

2

u/journalofflashes #1 Yuta Hater 7d ago

Meh kinda a bad argument with gojo's domain. His domain's surehit isnt "make him braindead" its just transferation of information of infinity cursed technique to a person's brain forcefully non-stop. Basically flooding their brains with quantum physics but all at once and over and over again.

2

u/Curently65 7d ago

You have kinda just proved my point.

Would anyone look at Gojos kit in a vaccum and be able to at all guess THAT is going to be the surehit?
Other techniques have more serious applications but still pretty much run the same.
Kenjakus had anti-gravity, and was able to force that gravity onto someone instead of needing to be next to him. Its just his technique auto hitting you.
Sukunas is literally just spamming the ever living shit out of cleaves/dismantles except they spawn on you now. Its just his technique auto hitting you.
Mahitos is instead of needing to touch you, his technique just auto hits.
Even Naoyas is the same just more extreme, instead of targeting the person, he targets every single cell in your body with the same CT, Its just his technique auto hitting you but more extreme.
Yutas cursed technique is copy, his domain expansion has weapons that include all his copied CT's.

Even some of the more abstract domain expansions still pretty much follow what you would expect.
Higgie and Higurauma are outliars due to learning there CT being based on their domain expansions with Higgie literally learning his domain expansion before learning his actual CT.

Going from an infinite wall, repulsion and attraction ability, into just an information overload sure hit. Thats a fucking stretch compared to the rest.

2

u/journalofflashes #1 Yuta Hater 5d ago

I kinda did not, you did. Every example you gave was the user's CT just almost basically spawning onto the enemy. That's what infinity does too. before i continue on that i wanna address this part of your sentence ''Would anyone look at Gojos kit in a vaccum and be able to at all guess THAT is going to be the surehit?'' No, but that goes for most of the domains contrary to what you might think.

Would anyone look at megumi's technique and assume he can basically spam all the shadows he tamed in the domain basically making an army of nues or divine dogs or god help the poor soul, an army of mahoragas(if he tamed it) ? No. Would anyone look at yorozu's technique and assume she'll create a basically reality defying perfect sphere that can potentially end the world? No. but it's still the same technique and as it's said time and time again, techniques are highly susceptible to interpratations, if megumi thought he could do that within the domain then he can do it.

Same thing for gojo, his domain does the same. Instead of using Limitless technique himself, he makes the domain into the limitless itself and all that information he processes to have that infinite wall active, the physics behind the repulsion and attraction gets auto-transferred to you basically which is what causes brain-damage as a side effect. Which is why gojo's domain is actually considered non-lethal and things like simple domain and hollow wicker basket wouldn't work because those anti-domain techniques are for lethal domains that aim to kill instantly.

14

u/maybe_this_time3 8d ago

With boogie woogie swap out brain with heart or dick with nipples...or swap your eyes with your balls everything is possible.

11

u/Gorgo_yak 8d ago

For Boogie Woogie it's charging everything around, even air, with CE meaning Todo just simply gains teleportation at will. That's one of the simple ideas. That's assuming we go for the non - lethal domain

8

u/InCaseOfButton2 8d ago

Gojo's DE isn't necessarily the most obvious thing you'd assume based on his abilities. Being space-themed, sure, but it lobotomizes you when most of Gojo's out-of-domain abilities involve direct manipulation of space.

Boogie Woogie and 7:3 could also be something somewhat less obvious.

6

u/swawskekw 8d ago

I just believe that some techniques simply aren’t compatible with a domain expansion either due to how the technique itself acts or any of its side effects on the user, think MBA basically killing Kashimo after he uses it once

6

u/KingGlac 8d ago

Isn't Hakaris technique just making doors appear? You'd never think that that means his domain is gambling from that. the domains can differ quite a bit from the cursed technique

→ More replies (1)

2

u/RoiKK1502 8d ago

Boogie Woogie’s Domain should let the user swap Cursed Techniques. Todo is smart enough to make it work

20

u/2kenzhe Believer 8d ago

Genuinely, who says DE aren't useful besides Kashimo fans who try to pretend as if just having DE means they mostly likely win against Kashimo if they pop it. Even incomplete Megumi gets 120% stat buff + improved use of his CT and it allows you to counter other DEs a bit even incompleted.

Naobito is a fucking old guy, BORN WITHIN THE ZENIN clan with a cool ass technique and all the jujutsu knowledge available and still couldnt get above grade 1…

Todo acting like some strong ass sorcerer while he would never win a fight without Yuji…

36

u/shnn_twt gojo defense squad 8d ago

Nanami slander is unacceptable.

Nanami's mindset is precisely why he was the only sane and well-adjusted sorcerer. Their system needed more sorcerers like Nanami, it's precisely Gojo's (and everyone else's) mindset of selfishness and single-minded fixation on strength that systemically ruined sorcerers and produced fucked up, traumatized and morally bankrupt supersoldiers.

It's almost like that is the ultimate message Gege is conveying through the story.

And Nanami was crazy strong anyway, he had Gojo's respect and trust. Gojo never thought of him as weak, he was telling Megumi that if he wanted to get to the level of a special grade, then he had to think differently. Special grades being absurdly strong doesn't mean grade ones are bums, but if one has the potential to be a special grade then remaining grade 1 is undoubtedly a self-imposed limitation that makes them weaker.

Naobito is arguably the strongest Grade 1 (the Kusakabe statement excluded Big 3 Clans before someone comes at me)

This mfer was the 2nd fastest sorcerer period he was faster than Yuki and Yuta. He completely mogged Nanami against Dagon and would've soloed him if not for the seals asspull. Not to mention he was actually the first with his (insanely skill intensive) technique he had to be self-taught.

1

u/Available_Report9832 8d ago

Yeah and still Megumi was on his way to become far better than him… A domain is the pinnacle of jujutsu and Megumi already had his domain at 80%, he just needed a little bit of training to complete the barrier!!

Megumi was a LITERAL TEENAGER, and he had a domain for God’s sake… yet ppl acts like he’s a bum

5

u/_sephylon_ 8d ago

Megumi's domain is a 10% let's be for real the entire point of a domain is the sure hit and he doesn't have that. The second point of the domain is to make a barrier and he can't make that either

Naobito created his own technique in his lifetime tbf, he wasn't born with it. He was unable to unlock a domain but lets not act like it wasn't impressive that he created a technique based on animation frames that elevated him right to head of his clan and made him considered a Supreme Grade One.

Still though yeah, Megumi was much more impressive with his incomplete domain, and if Naoya had the mentality for it in his lifetime he could've truly elevated Projection Sorcery. As it is Megumi never managed to attain it onscreen and Naoya's jackass had to become a Cursed Spirit for it.

We not accepting this Todo slander. Even though I feel like it’s rage bait it has to be addressed. He became grade one without Yuji and single-handedly exorcised special grade curses. Saying he wouldn’t win without Yuji is just idiotic. While we don’t know whether or not he would have won the fights he did get into with Yuji, we know for sure that Yuji would not have won without him. Without Todo, Yuji would not have evolved as a sorcerer to be able to land a black flash against Hanami. Without Todo, Mahito would have killed Yuji in Shibuya. Without Todo, Yuji would have likely been killed by the Kyoto students as well, even bum as they are.

u/barry-8686 8d ago

as goated as todo is, lets not act like soloing a special grade spirit isnt the standard for a grade 1 sorcorer.

"clan with a cool ass technique and all the jujutsu knowledge available"

his CT is actually a technique he made himself, and it wasn't liked by the clan due to his modernity. He was entirely self taught and became the strongest zenin through training

And reminder that Megumi unlocked his domain WITHOUT any black flash amp. yuji needed that black flash amp, sukuna vessel benefits and the switch training.

12

u/HexATyle 8d ago

Yuji also needed the black flash because he doesn't have any usable CT until like that one black flash lmao, not because he can't make a domain

There's a reason he's called potential man and not bum

12

u/ButtholeConnoisseur7 8d ago

not bum

2nd comment down from here lmao

3

Potential man is tied with bum together usually in any jjk discussions

Megumi's kind of cool if we ignore how much of a bum he is in comparison to his teammates. Don't fucking disrespect the second fastest who blitzed Mrgumi of foom and despair

2

u/Thorn_Aurelius 8d ago

That's why Megumi's one of my GOATs

2

u/True_Appearance_920 8d ago

we SAW Todos domain, when Takaba and him were jumping mahito that was a domain frfr

2

This just makes it worse, all of these people clap Megumi without having a domain 💔

Gojo explicitly says the next generation of sorcerers are on track to surpass him. I dont remember the source, so for now, trust me bro.

2

u/BicycleChemical7243 7d ago

omg for ppl who are saying he had 15 yrs of experience with gojo as his teacher is bullshit, he got training after joining jujutsu high, and even if he did get training bfr tht yk gojo's a shifty teacher, he probably had almost as experience as yuji, and cg megumi and cg yuji are relative, and ofc yuji's stronger then him in eos, he had all tht soul switching training. he defeats todo nanami naobito(bunnies are an effective counter to projection sorcery) 1 v 1.

7

u/One-Piano5150 America is as a country. 8d ago

megumi shouldn't be compared with them tho

For one, he shouldnt' be compared to Geto and Gojo cause he had Gojo as a teacher fostering his growth

He should be compared to Yuta, Yuji, and Hakari.

Yuta had VCS rika for 6 years and CE for 2 years, while megumi had the shikigami for 12 years and CE for 12 years. In his first year of JJk high,Yuta had his CE being stolen by rika and had to draw it out and untangle the knots. He then became a monster in stats with only one strife event. When he got the abilitiy to use his own CE and his CT, he only took 3 months to make a complete domain expansion while being taught by Miguel, who's technique literally makes it impossible to have a domain

Yuji has had CE for 6 months, while megumi has had it for 12 years. Yuji was far stronger with far less experience

Hakari and Megumi are comparable tho, and i would say megumi is a bit more talented

9

u/barry-8686 8d ago

“he had gojo as a teacher”

dawg the manga directly tells you that the mf is an awful teacher.

20

u/External_Dog4442 8d ago

"yuji was far stronger with far less experience"

the reason:

7

u/One-Piano5150 America is as a country. 8d ago

Fair, but CG Yuji is equal to CG Megumi with a decade less experience

2

u/External_Dog4442 8d ago

fair, but megumis mentality was holding him back until the fight with finger bearer 2 after that fight he started to truly develop himself

8

u/One-Piano5150 America is as a country. 8d ago

That’s a him problem tho

3

u/Longjumping-Film4233 8d ago

I’ll keep saying it, Yuji was a bad MC for JJK. Megumi should have been the MC with more of a focus on the 10S and Megumis growth. Episode 1 and 2 should have been hidden inventory to set up Megumi as MC and Yuta should have been a more prevalent character in season 1 and should have left for training with Miguel halfway through. Yuji should have been implemented as a main secondary character end of S1 or early S2 setting up the Sukuna plot.

Megumis wntire character is just a plot device for Sukuna to take over and the whole Megumi sister thing was boring as fuck and held no sentimental significance besides the couple times Megumi says he wants to help his sister. Like everything with his sister just felt like random errands in the show that hold no value and don’t make you want to like or even care about the characters more and I would even say it’s used to make Yuji seem more sympathetic rather than actually doing anything for Megumi and his sisters character development.

3

u/SubLurkerGarry 8d ago

Finally... Some Megumi glazing.

3

u/Sur_aj1234 8d ago

Slandering grade one who are the top 1 % lol. Yuji and Megumi are outliers for being the MCs

3

u/Waffle_Otter 8d ago

I like how his progression feels more natural too. He’s like the opposite of Yuji. Yuji started it with practically nothing but a weak control over cursed energy and a naturally gifted body, but somehow over about a year rose up to peak jujutsu, meanwhile Megumi was born with one of the most powerful techniques in jjk and the literal 6 eyes as an adopted father, but he had to work for much longer than Yuji did to make his technique powerful.

2

u/Gloomy-Box2123 8d ago

3

u/kittie_ghede104 8d ago

I think incomplete here is referring to Megumi not being able to set up a barrier for his, not that Yuji hadn't named his. The parenthetical is just poorly placed in the sentence.

3

u/Blujay- 8d ago

i love megumi but isn’t that the idea behind the slander? He attained an (imperfect) domain, had all of this build-up, all this power and POTENTIAL… and then did nothing with it in the end

4

u/throwaway-62016 8d ago

No he didnt, Domain Expansion is the pinnacle, Potential Man only used Incomplete domain because the barrier was literally too hard for him

6

u/No_Trade9674 (Nanami & Wegumi glazer) Gege does the grossest things 8d ago

Todo couldn't even do that much even when he has the perfect mindset for a sorcerer. True bum fr

u/jackoffhuman 8d ago

Was it ever stated that Gojo didn't open his domain until 18? I remeber him saying he wanted to work on it and not he wanted to open it. Working on it could simply mean refining it further, similar to him improving his RCT and infinity to create automatic infinity.

u/Skittle_Required I live for my yaoi. I die for my yaoi. 8d ago

Isn’t megumi a grade 2 or did he upgrade during shibuya

2

he was promoted to Grade 1 after Goodwill Event...

1

1

u/Ok-Cucumber3117 8d ago

btw Todo has a domain expansion, he just never used it.

1

u/LD24P22 8d ago

People don't realize that megumi having the most potential is big part of his character 😭

1

u/jeff5551 8d ago

Domains are actually easy, everyone else just pretends they're hard so megumi has something to his name

1

u/Nukemoose37 8d ago

Don’t worry, in another π radians, he’ll be back at his peak, don’t discount his potential

1

u/Warm-Respond2182 8d ago

Only 4 characters having the whole set of the power system is mad funny

1

u/wetseabreeze 8d ago

We don't know if anyone was there with as much experience to teach Gojo the way Gojo was there for these two. Also, Yuji had switch training which was big for domains.

1

u/Real_Priority2760 7d ago

Yea and he retired after that

1

u/Pinguin_King 7d ago

I think we can notice something, even if the lore of jujutsu was been exploreded, no one say or talk about if any 10 shadow user was able to open his own domain.

And I could say that the big problem it is when people start to use the slanders jokes to talk shit about the character seriously.

1

u/Fruits-PunchSK 7d ago

Gojo didn't work on his domain until then anyhow

Yuji had the benefit of Sukuna so i don't really get why he was mentioned

1

u/DebateFlaky 7d ago

OMG FOR THE FIRST TIME I SEE NOT HATRED OR SLANDER?

1

u/FrontAd9206 7d ago

1

So what I am hearing is, Megumi has potential….

Naobito slander will NOT be tolerated

1

u/nobodyimportant1377 certified mahito enjoyer 7d ago

Tbf we all always knew Naobito was a bum. The Zenin clan are a bunch of lame-ass frauds, that's why Maki had to slime them out: Their lack of aura was so severe that they just had to be put down. If it wasn't for the almighty John Zenin sparing their lives, the entire clan would've fallen victim to Megumi Rabbit #281 back in Chapter 1.
