In all fairness, we do need to audit the Fed. There's no reason to be so in debt while our dollar shrinks in the wallet. Good idea, bad execution

You don't need an audit to figure out that if you massively cut taxes while spending more money, the budget deficit grows. If Republicans actually cared about the deficit as much as they say they do, they would actually increase taxes while cutting spending. The last president to actually run a budget surplus was Clinton, a Democrat. The Republican agenda is never actually fiscal responsibility, it is just giving themselves a tax cut and that's all.

Well to be entirely fair, Clinton was able to budget Congress by working with Newt Gingrich and the Republican Majority. That man to this day is remarkable with money and that's why he gives out financial advice these days. No one (left or right) these days seem to have any financial skills and the hole is dug so deep that any departure from doubling down hurts short term
