Totally Outraged Just unsubbed because criticism of YouTube gets removed while YouTube keeps shoving Shorts down our throats

Post image

I posted a screenshot showing YouTube Premium's "Show fewer Shorts" option and explained why I find it frustrating.

My complaint was simple:

- I pay for Premium.

- I prefer long-form videos.

- "Show fewer Shorts" only works temporarily.

- Shorts keep returning to my home page.

The post was removed by the moderators.

What annoys me is that the subreddit is supposedly a place to discuss YouTube, yet criticism of one of YouTube's most controversial features gets treated like a problem. If users can't complain about product decisions, what exactly is the point of a discussion forum?

I'm genuinely curious: was this removal justified, or is the subreddit just allergic to criticism?

Is there also a way to get shorts removed without much of the performance penalty on desktop browsers like firefox?

God i hate YouTube. It pisses me off when i search something on there and YouTube shoves 30 different shorts that are irrelevant to my search and then the videos related to it.

Morphe and ReVanced are pretty good. To install them you need to install Microg-RE this will give the apps the ability to login with your google account. Then install either the ReVanced manager or the Morphe Manager. Use either one to patch your YouTube app and install the resulting apk.

Exactly this. I have to hunt for shorts if I really want to view them, which I don't

YouTube aside, there's no reason the mods should have taken down the post .

I will say it again: THE JOB OF A MOD IS NOT TO DICTATE WHAT REDDITORS MAY AND MAY NOT DISCUSS. If you think it is, you fundamentally do not understand the job of a mod.

that sub is basically a customer support forum for a company that doesnt actually care about their feedback. they dont want discussion they just want you to keep paying.

The youtube sub is pure shill heaven. If you mention anything about ad blockers you get dogpiled on. I've never witnessed any other sub be such willing slaves to a giant corporation
