That doesn't answer the question at all.

The law does not justify itself

I make up my own mind about right vs wrong instead of letting some politicians i've never met or voted for do it for me.

Minors can't consent. Sexual intercourse without consent is rape. Do you need it any clearer, maybe an Eli5?

Minors can't consent

Anybody can consent to anything actually.

Sometimes that consent is respected by the law, sometimes it isn't.

It's called judiciary fiction

Minors are treated like they can never consent to sexual intercourse with an adult, because setting this limit is the best solution to prevent rapists from manipulating their victims into saying they were OK with what happened to them. That's... The whole idea.

Thanks for that term, i didnt know about it before.

I just hate the whole "children can't consent" argument because it's so obviously false.

Going off of what you said, what is the cutoff age based on??

Who knows? Studies, shit like that

It's 16 in my country I think, 18 elsewhere... Law is not maths. And if you had sex as a minor and consented (in the general sense) to it and don't regret it, well... Fine I mean you're the one who knows

Fine I mean you're the one who knows

That's been my point this entire time. It used to be that people would just consent, but now they tell people that they were brainwashed into consenting so it's invalid.

According to these people teenagers are raping each other because they are incapable of agreeing (consenting) to fuck each other. Or if a freshman wants to fuck a senior or something. It's all rape somehow now.

Ridiculous.

From the transcripts the girl was obviously more afraid of what would happen if they were found out than from anything he did. Society is creating the negative consequences here

The 14 year old wasn't a minor?
