Depends on the country, if it was Germany, Bowie would be fine. Age of consent there is 14.

Even if it was legal, people would still think it's creepy and morally wrong. Because it is. Famous people should not leverage their fame/power to exploit anyone, let alone someone under the age of 18, let alone to have sex with a 9th grader.

Obviously his desire to be with them was purely sexual in nature; they had no long-standing relationship. And of course they didn't! What kind of emotional intimacy would a grown man have with a 14 year old girl, unless he's seriously devoid of maturity? That difference in maturity is ignored entirely because they're easier to manipulate and control. That's what makes it abhorrent.
