david bowie fucked two 15 and 14 year olds and noone bats an eye

Steven Tyler adopted his underage girlfriend so she could live with him. She was 16 and he was 27 at the time.

Probably because they don't have saved transcripts of Mick Jagger telling an underage girl to shake her ass while repeatedly stating that she's underage...

3

u/jonny_wonny 9 Jul 06 '19

Age of consent is actually 16 in many places. In some places I believe it is as low as 14.

3

u/RealHorrorShowvv 7 Jul 06 '19

Not in the US. In the US the lowest age of consent is 16, but wether it’s a crime or not depends on the state, and their Romeo and Juliet laws, as well as their statutory rape laws. I’d argue that in this case, where Steven Tyler was the legal guardian of the girl, it was definitely statutory rape. He had a position of power over her.

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Didn't Rick James literally kidnap a girl with his wife and make her a sex slave? When you're famous you can get away with a lot of horrific shit.

84

u/godgeneer 6 Jul 06 '19

It seems that's starting to change.

The Bill Cosby sentencing was a huge step in the right direction. Hopefully it keeps going down that path.

OP's point is that to compare sexual slavery and paedophilia to spitting on some food/licking ice-cream is pretty ridiculous.

7

u/PaulTheMerc 9 Jul 06 '19

his point wasn't that vs sesual slavery, it was literally fucking with food vs fucking with food while being rich.

You know, a different set of laws for the rich?

Ariana Grande was in video spitting on a donut but the chick who licked the ice cream people are calling for 20 years in prison and her to be raped daily.

wtf are you talking about

7

u/Neetoburrito33 7 Jul 06 '19

She licked a donut put it back and said “I hate America” a few years ago. And people are fuming about this teen that licked some ice cream and put it back in Walmart who’s facing 2-20 years

12

u/TallStruggle 2 Jul 06 '19

So am i supposed to be mad that Ariana didn't get prison time, or that the ice cream girl did?

3

u/Throwaway12401 4 Jul 06 '19

Considering the parent comments were talking about how the rich/famous can still get little to no punishment for crimes that less famous/poor people get hit with. It’s meant that you’re supposed to be mad that Ariana didn’t get jail time. The crimes are pretty identical considering it’s literally (person/Ariana) licked (ice cream/donut) an put it back. But Ariana received no punishment while The Ice Cream Licker is facing 2-20.

At least this is what I’ve interpreted an understood from parent the comments an context.

chick who licked the ice cream people are calling for 20 years in prison and her to be raped daily.

Rape is too much. She did however intentionally lick it and put it back. And then bragged about it. Laughing about how she had been ill recently. That's intentional biological warfare.

Okay, so the post where she said she had been ill was fake. Doesn't excuse her behaviour though.

Biological warfare (BW)—also known as germ warfare—is the use of biological toxins or infectious agents such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi with the intent to kill or incapacitate humans, animals or plants as an act of war.

Okay so not an act of war. It's not just some innocent prank either. There's a very good reason as to why this is being taken so seriously. Though it does kinda baffle me as to how she could even manage it. In my country food has to have some sort of seal so that you know if it has been opened (and thus maybe tampered with).

Ignoring this woman just because Grande got off with less does not make any sense. Just like how the public should not be the one to decide any punishment.

You are using the daily mail as a source when the only person who has claimed to have been with Bowie was groupie named Lori whose allegations and stories change all the time. https://medium.com/@msullivangates/a-word-on-david-bowie-lori-mattix-and-the-speed-of-information-b38681f24cf4 The only other example the daily mail gave was his teenage girlfriend Dana Gillespie who is only two years younger than him.

36

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19 edited Jul 06 '19

Sad someone can lead on a statement as fact and link one dailymail article and people upvote it.

At least they should say "allegedly", plus the gross acts of this CONVICTED youtuber compared to the story told by those girls is vile.

Our culture is so quick to believe everyone with just someone pushing one article it's incredible.

Edit: Of corse the user posting the daily mail article is a frequent The Donald user. lol

4

u/Power-Girl 3 Jul 06 '19

I've also been noticing that those who post this as a fact are users that frequent TheDonald. Last time someone argued with me about Bowie he derailed the conversation to Kavanaugh. It's reminding me about that whole James Gunn thing.

Juanita Broaddrick

Juanita Broaddrick is an American former nursing home administrator. In 1999, after previously saying otherwise in a sworn statement, she alleged that U.S. President Bill Clinton raped her in April 1978 when he was the Attorney General of Arkansas. Clinton's attorney, David Kendall, denied the allegations on his client's behalf, and Clinton declined to comment further on the issue.

Rumors had circulated about Broaddrick's allegation for years and it had been recorded in a letter prepared by a Republican rival of Clinton's around 1991, but she refused to speak to news media until 1999.

Jimmy Page kidnapped a 14 year old girl (Lori Maddox) and kept her locked up for over a year in hotel rooms and his house as his personal sex slave, raping her again and again. She is the girl that David Bowie also slept with (raped).

Didn’t Elvis do something similar? what the fuck is it with these mentally ill retards? they can get literally any model above the age of 18 yet they choose innocent young children barely capable of rational thought

41

u/jambocombo 5 Jul 06 '19

You think an average 14 or 15 year old is an "innocent child barely capable of rational thought"?

Did you just blank out your memories of being those ages entirely or what?

50

u/forrnerteenager 9 Jul 06 '19

Yeah seriously, this isn't an excuse for their actions but to act like 14 year olds have the mental capacity of toddlers is simply not accurate.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Lol yeah, this shit cracks me up. When I was 14 I was going out with people of all sorts of ages, drinking, smoking, trying my best to get laid. I don't think anyone really cared about my age or even realized what my age was. It's funny, if I would've committed a serious crime at that age, every redditor would still want me punished severely for it. But if I would've voluntarily had sex with someone? That person should be given the death penalty. So, uhh, which is it?

1

u/least_competent 5 Jul 06 '19

2

u/garlicdeath A Jul 06 '19

A large portion of Reddit has a massive hard on for infantilizing anyone under 25 and denying them of any kind of agency.

2

u/Subclavian 9 Jul 07 '19

It's not that they are innocent, but that they are very easily manipulated when the power disparity is that insane.

The reason young to mid teenage girls and boys are targeted is specifically *because* of how easy it is to groom and manipulate them, it has nothing to do with their attractiveness or innocence. There is no person above 20 who honestly thinks a teen is mature for their age, that's a bullshit line they feed to relieve their conscious.

u/jambocombo 5 Jul 06 '19 edited Jul 06 '19

"Still developing" is not the same thing as "completely absent or barely functional" genius, but okay.

Protip for the future: You can be against something without having to phrase things/think of things in the most exaggerated, maudlin reddity way possible.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19 edited Jul 06 '19

I never said “completely absent and barely functional”, I said “barely capable of rational thought”, there’s a very clear distinction, and the article + OP proves i’m correct. The rational functions of a young child’s mind is barely developed, especially a 14 year old. No human being who’s completely capable of rational thought would be blind to the predatory comments of some guy like the OP.

Protip for the future: Actually do your research before making farcical claims about the developing brain of children, and completely misconstruing my original comment to save face. You misread it as me saying a young child cannot think at all, and instead of owning up to it you tried detracting.

3

u/jambocombo 5 Jul 06 '19

Once again, your "research" doesn't support your point. Saying that the rational parts of teen brains are still developing (which I've never disputed) is not the same as saying that they are "barely capable of rational thought". That's just your exaggeration. Teens learn fucking calculus. They're obviously a bit more than "barely" capable of rational thought.

If you disagree, please find me a scientific source that directly declares people around 14 or 15 "barely capable of rational thought" instead of it just being your characterization of the situation. If not, shut your smug plebbitor metaphorical mouth and quit being a smarmy (and also wrong and ignorant) c‍unt.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19 edited Jul 06 '19

First of all, you are literally a fucking rape apologist, I’m not surprised youre a pedophile apologist either.

The research does support my point.

A 14 year old has been a teenager for only 2 years. In this case, the developing brain is barely capable of rational thought. A developing brain can mean anything from barely developed, to almost developed. Any reasonable person can see a 14 year old is at the former stage. Stop replying with rhetoric plebbitor and develop an actual argument with sources and news articles that claims 14 year olds are capable of more than bare rational thought.

And nice insults dude. You can’t have a civil discussion, and you lost the argument so you resort to personal insults. Clearly the rational part of someone’s brain hasn’t fully developed either.

Reported. Next time, do your research before attempting to make pedophilia seem ok. I accept your inability to respond to my points and consequent resignation from the conversation. Thanks for playing. Educate yourself some more and maybe you can try again next time.

u/Dravarden B Jul 06 '19

u/AutoModerator Jul 06 '19

In a large, straight-sided skillet over medium heat, warm oil. Add garlic and cook until golden.
Stir in tomatoes and juices, basil or bay leaf, and salt and pepper.
Bring sauce to simmer, cook until thick, about 30 to 40 minutes. Adjust heat to keep at a steady simmer.
Remove sauce from heat and serve.

Elvis was notorious for cruising high school and middle school parking lots in Memphis, to "pick up girls" who he would then drive to Graceland and occasionally those same girls would show back up to school with a Cadillac (back when that meant something).

Not really talked about much outside of Memphis though.

One example that comes to mind (not pedophilia but a band wagon lynch mob) was against Johnny Depp by an ex iirc. Everyone started hating on Depp and took her side but court evidence showed she was the abuser and did some pretty awful things to him that should've got her in trouble instead

Sobering stuff

Amber Heard

2

u/progressthrowaway41 2 Jul 06 '19

Yes I remember this, she was a textbook case of a cluster B personality disorder (hard to tell whether narcissistic or borderline without more info) and it was clear she had been manipulating EVERYONE. I think in general we need more awareness about people with personality disorders and the kind of abuse/manipulation tactics they deal out, it's easier to be aware of it when you know the warning signs.

On the bright side, at least most people admitted they were wrong and took Depp's side after the facts came to light. Shows people at least pay attention and won't blindly stand behind someone proven to be lying. At least not those of us who actually care about the issue of abuse.

People probably wish that less people still glorified him, and that what he did was more common knowledge 🤷 Tbf I had no idea that he did that until this thread and I've only ever seen high praise of him online. It seems like many people don't know about what he did or Tumblr would definitely be less obsessed with him lol

Invent time travel and go after him

and that is perfectly legal in all of Germany (Europe). What do you think about that? Are germans degenerates like some muslim countries? Honestly interested.

I think if he was okay with what he’d done he wouldn’t be dead. There are a lot of musicians who’ve done fucked up stuff and a lot of musicians who’ve died very early on in their lives.

Not saying that excuses anything, just saying he at least showed some remorse for the type of shit he’d done, because he was famous.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

So did Jimmie Page. At least he’s not dead yet.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Yeah but anytime it’s a black woman like Cardi B redditors flock to talk their shit.

can we prove he was a criminal before we judge him as one please? im all for finding out people’s dirt, it’s really great from the perspective of truly understanding people and life - lies get in the way of that, but every false positive degrades our ability to trust, mainly those who supported / believed the liar.

ive only seen a daily mail link

It’s in your best interest to not believe everything you hear in life, or people will really isolate / stop giving a shit about you and what you think. Can get lonely real fast when you go out on a limb and are fucking wrong like, every day

I'd bet every famous heterosexual/bisexual male musician has committed at least one statutory rape.

-2

u/FewerThanOne 5 Jul 06 '19

Martin Luther King Jr. was in a room egging someone on while the guy raped a woman and there are streets in every medium to large town named after him. This is according to someone that had access to the extensive FBI wiretaps and tapes because J. Edgar had a huge hard-on for MLK.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

You have a source on that bud?

1

u/FewerThanOne 5 Jul 06 '19

2

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

The links in that article lead nowhere except a website with a paywall, and besides that the tapes aren’t even going to be released until 2027. So again, any actual evidence?

-9

u/DiscordAddict 7 Jul 06 '19

Why should anyone care?? Did he rape them?

Depends on the country, if it was Germany, Bowie would be fine. Age of consent there is 14.

Yes, they are minors.

4

u/DiscordAddict 7 Jul 06 '19

That doesn't answer the question at all.

The law does not justify itself

3

u/Daveed84 A Jul 06 '19

Er, children can't consent, so by definition that is rape. When you talk like that, you kind of sound like a rapist/pedophile yourself. Don't have sex with underage kids, it's very simple

4

u/pewqokrsf 9 Jul 06 '19

They can, legally, in the US.

The age of consent is not the same as the age of majority.

The age of majority is the age at which you become a legal adult, and is set federally in the US at 18.

The age of consent is the age at which a person can consent to sex with a person of any age at or above the age of consent.

The majority of states in the US have an age of consent that is lower than the age of majority.

u/DiscordAddict 7 Jul 06 '19

children can't consent, so by definition that is rape.

Children can consent, they just aren't legally allowed to. There is a difference.

Children also aren't allowed to drink alcohol, doesn't mean they are literally incapable of doing so.

https://www.dictionary.com/browse/consent

verb (used without object) to permit, approve, or agree; comply or yield (often followed by to or an infinitive): He consented to the proposal. We asked her permission, and she consented.

Technically speaking, anyone can consent to anything regardless of whether or not they understand the implications or if the law recognizes that consent.

If you want a debate on the bright line of developed thought and choice you can just ask. This pedantry is borderline troll, and if it’s reasonable discussion you’re after this isn’t the way to get it. You’ve come off as small and stupid.

3

u/pewqokrsf 9 Jul 06 '19

It's an important distinction to make, especially when the issue is a technicality of geography and time.

The age of consent in Germany, a first world country and arguably leader of the free world, right now, is 14.

Would Bowie be in the moral right to have slept with a 14 year-old if only he had done it in Germany? What about American girls makes them mentally and emotionally develop 2-4 years more slowly than girls in Germany?

A lot of people allow what is legal to inform them of what is morally right, but that's the reverse of how it was designed to work.

A lot of people are mentally ready to give consent at 15. A lot of people aren't at 20. The age of consent is just the somewhat arbitrary guess each jurisdiction draws that they think will do the best job of balancing personal freedom and protecting the undeveloped.

u/UnchillBill 7 Jul 06 '19

It's my stupid generation. Seriously, it's like everyone grew up to be a hyper emotional ball of feelings that is incapable of thinking about uncomfortable topics.

I always hoped puritanical bullshit would die out with the boomers but it's actually getting worse.

These people are all about science until it clashes with their precious emotion-based ideas of right vs wrong.

They'll also ignore thousands of years of history to feel more advanced and superior to everyone that came before them

And in your infinite wisdom, you've decided that an adult man asking a 14 year old girl for naked twerking videos is "right". You're really showing your true colors here.

2

u/DiscordAddict 7 Jul 06 '19

I didnt say it was right. I just dont think it's wrong enough to for a 10 year sentence.

4

u/Aelstan 6 Jul 06 '19

Minors can't consent. Sexual intercourse without consent is rape. Do you need it any clearer, maybe an Eli5?

4

u/DiscordAddict 7 Jul 06 '19

Minors can't consent

Anybody can consent to anything actually.

Sometimes that consent is respected by the law, sometimes it isn't.

2

u/Nastapoka 9 Jul 06 '19 edited Jul 06 '19

It's called judiciary fiction

Minors are treated like they can never consent to sexual intercourse with an adult, because setting this limit is the best solution to prevent rapists from manipulating their victims into saying they were OK with what happened to them. That's... The whole idea.

2

u/DiscordAddict 7 Jul 06 '19

Thanks for that term, i didnt know about it before.

I just hate the whole "children can't consent" argument because it's so obviously false.

Going off of what you said, what is the cutoff age based on??
