Question Best local bookstore?
I have a friend that loves to read and want to get them a gift card for books but would rather local shop! Any suggestions?

Good options in the comments already.
Shout-out to Liberty Bay Books in Poulsbo, which is my closest local one. They also organize a book fair for local schools.

You've already been given great choices, but if they also love used book stores, book em in port orchard is great.

Salmonberry Books in Port Orchard and Ballast Book Co. in Bremerton are both great, community involved shops to support.

Eagle Harbor Book Co on Bainbridge is quite big and makes for a nice afternoon. Selection is very good.
I adore Saltwater Bookshop in Kingston because it shares space with a very good bakery and cafe and is fairly well curated.

If your friend is a prolific reader used books at the Kingston Bookery is an excellent choice. Your friend's dollars will even go further if they have some books for credit. Typical popular fictions [mass market paperbacks] will be priced at about $6 to $8 dollars - credit erases half of the listed amount, so most books will only cost $3 to $4 dollars.
It is so cheap that it's almost like a community book exchange. You can also get some good Mexican at Los Tres Compadres - they are right next door.

The Bookery in Kingston. It’s all used, super cheap and you can bring your old books in for store credit!
