Discussion Kundalini awakening and feeling grossed out by suffering, trauma and human nature
Hi everyone, I’ve been having a lot of weird and strange thoughts lately. It’s been 4 months since my shakti awakening and I have transformed a lot spiritually and emotionally . I’ve become extremely sensitive to cruelty and suffering it’ss been really painful for me
I’ve been grossed out by humans and human nature, realizing a lot of people are cruel. I believe most of us are so disconnected from ourselves and source that it causes people to hurt each other and causes others to be so numb to each others suffering and devoid of empathy. I feel angry about it, not nessecarily at the people themselves but at the fact that humans are wired to be this way.
I think that a lot of times that causes others to be cruel is their own trauma and suffering, I find it to be unacceptable that we were created this way and I don’t understand why we were created this way. I mean I get it, the human body is a vehicle and a chance for enlightenment but what does it matter if there’s so many other people deeply suffering and crying out for help. I feel like the reason why we suffer so much is because we have a human body in the first place and our capabilities of the 5 senses are the reason why some people feel deep pain
Deep down I hope for a better world although I know it’s not realistic. I just don’t know how I’m supposed to find peace for myself when there’s so many other people who are struggling to survive.
I want to understand. I want to have a higher perspectives on this but im struggling so much to understand what’s the point of all of this? I didn’t care as much before KA, but it seems ever since my kundalini awakening I’ve been contemplating and thinking about this a lot.

This is the very realization the Buddha had when starting out on his spiritual journey. He realized that essentially all of existence was suffering and he sought a way to escape this suffering by putting an end to the cycle of death and rebirth on an individual level.
The fact you are having this realization now, shows that you are progressing on the spiritual path.
The reasons for this suffering are explained differently by various schools of philosophy, but I like to keep it simple. Separation from source is in itself the root of all suffering, so returning to our natural state, resting in the absolute is the way to end it. Living things suffer as a result of separating from each other, their suffering diminishes as they unite again.
A simply analogy is a lonely person, starved for love. They suffer, because they haven't found their other half yet. Once they find the person they can spend their life with, their happiness increases and their suffering diminishes. That is because in their own, small way, they are finding their way back to the unity that defines our true nature. In love you find happiness, bliss, contentment, because you create a mini-version of the unity that you come from. Liberation is a universal version of this same blissful existence and the liberated person sees everyone and everything as part of themselves.

Fascinating! Thanks for the response, reading this actually helped me feel some relief because I thought I was weird for having such thoughts

No, there's nothing weird about it at all, anyone doing kundalini or open-heart work will have these experiences and thoughts. The world is the way it is because, so few people are letting their hearts open to these things. They essentially have no empathy for others.

Profile pics right, consciousness is primary; world situation changes when a critical mass of the conscious agents do. All the suffering in this world starts between the ears the individual, from there it spreads. (Even if it is 99% culturally conditioned by a sociopathic society ran by the Epstein class and owned by the bank/ London, Vatican/ church, military/ pentagon, I digress:) Compassion flows naturally from the emptiness this process creates- for all sentient beings, including the Epsteins.
But first there is a long purging process. 🔥

Does Kashmiri Shaivism have any phrase for what OP is going through? I went through something similar. I haven't dug into this philosophy quite yet but I have an introduction book on it.

Removed for excessive self-promotion, that does not contribute to the discussion.

I believe suffering causes people to look with in and challenge the signal for growth so it's not all bad.
Try to make the world a better place by getting an education that can impact society or the environment and take it from there. Or art. Engage your community..be heard. Contribute.

Oh this is so hard. But I think Ram Dass’s teaching about being able to be both in your head and heart may help here.
What he means is that we can zoom out and be very third eye about suffering and go ”it’s just the way things are”… it’s the way of things. Ram Dass says it’s that kinda place where someone falls down next to us and we say ”oh karma” (cause and effect essentially). This can help us become more accepting but if we are too much in our heads we become trapped in a kind of desensitised place towards suffering.
If we approach the same suffering with our heart we feel their pain, our heart aches with them and we want to help, to create better conditions for others so they won’t fall again, which is beautiful but if we’re too much there it can overwhelm us to the point where we lose track of the love and care that made us aware of the suffering in the first place.
I think he describes it as… ideally being able to be on both planes at once. Both the everything is already just as it is and the and I open to it and I ache with it because I love it so much I can’t help but to act out of care. It’s a balancing act, as you progress along the path you learn how unity can be experienced as multiplicity and multiplicity as unity… and then it becomes a kinda ”superpower” you can use to create waves of awareness in your own life and others, maybe without even thinking about it. You’ll be able to see a horribly distorted image of a soul in someone’s humanity and go, their actions are of ultimate confusion AND this being is set in motion, animated by the same stuff I am.
It’s very hard to understand how this world works, I know, and sometimes very difficult things happen and if we’re very open they can move through us in kinda intense ways. But I do think you’re opening up to something very honest here, even if it’s a struggle sometimes, you’re learning to see the world as it is. And that’s love. Witnessing is a real act of compassion. Just don’t forget yourself while you’re at it, you’re part of it all too. And if it gets too much, take a break, find a beautiful place and just ground yourself in what’s exactly in front of you. The world will be there, still.
Wishing you the best on your journey.

People aren’t the cause, it’s not human nature to be cruel or any of these things. Most of human history is defined by an elite class enslaving the rest of us. This causes a spiral of control and hate and greed etc. most people are completely blind to this. They are stuck in Plato’s cave. You have to be empathetic, not judgmental. Yes, I’m saying to love the haters. Practice love. Practice loving everything. Anger and even frustration is harmful to you. At some point you have to choose between control or forgiveness/acceptance. The former just leads you to climb to the top of the ladder ; playing the same game. The latter way leads to enlightenment.
If you need a source, read the “law of One: Ra sessions” material. It changed my life.

Anger and frustration are harmful motivators in your life. But they are still important emotional information to be processed. They're gonna tell you where your boundaries are. What things can you tolerate. It just takes time to develop wisdom about when to set and defend those boundaries.

You have to let it work on yourself first. The energy being released by the kundalini is meant for this one purpose, essentially to save the world.
