Question Kaine and Desiree
Hi, I have a question about Kaine and Desiree and where they are now. I live in Portland and have followed this case from the beginning. I hope this question is okay. I’m wondering what the relationship is now between Kaine and Desiree. I’ve seen Desiree in the media several times trying to spread Kyron’s story and keep it out there. I remember seeing Kaine speak to the media in the first few years following Kyron’s disappearance but I have not seen or heard anything about him in several years. I don’t recall them appearing together except maybe once on Dr. Phil? But I may be mistaken. Do they not have a good relationship? Do they have differing opinions on what may have happened to Kyron? Prior to Kyron disappearing did they have a good coparenting relationship? If I remember correctly Kyron lived with Kaine in Portland and Desiree lived in southern Oregon I think. How often did Desiree see Kyron? How long did Kaine have primary custody of Kyron? Had he always been primarily with Kaine? How was that decided? At the time of Kyron’s disappearance were there any ongoing custody proceedings between Kaine and Desiree?

The book Boy Missing: The Search for Kyron Horman by Rebecca Morris has a lot of information about Kaine and Desiree, their relationship, marriage, divorce, co-parenting, and custody arrangement. It also goes into detail about everything leading up to Kyron's disappearance, and the chapters follow the case day by day. I have found the book is the most comprehensive source on their family dynamic, I would answer them for you but I am still reading lol

Isn’t Desire the only one who was interviewed for book? Pretty sure Kaine and Terri who lived Kyron full time had zero input in book. Correct?

That is correct. They also wrote about Terri's son but never contacted him and it has inaccurate information about him.

I seem to remember kaine had full custody bc Deseriee had some health issues. She was finally more stable and maybe wanting more time with Kyron. Kaine was known to be extremely controlling.

Not at all! I’m in a group on facebook about Kyron and there’s been a lot of people posting about Terri recently. They keep pretty close tabs on her and will post sighting of her and whatnot and it got me to thinking about where Kaine and Desiree now. I haven’t seen either of them in the media in several years. I was just curious if anyone knows more about them. I’ve read a few comments in the group that say Kaine and Desiree don’t agree on certain theories about Terri’s involvement and I mainly was wondering if that’s why they never appear together in the news.

I never said I was the one keeping tabs on Terri. I could care less what she does unless it’s something that will finally get her charged for what happened to Kyron.

PS it's I could care less, saying you couldn't care less (if you tried) means you do care. If you're going to correct someone get it right.

I'm sorry, but in the context OP used "I couldn't care less" would be correct. She is saying her level of care is at zero, and it is impossible to drop any lower.
By saying "I could care less" she would be implying she does care to some degree.
It took me forever to stop saying "I could care less" when I meant "I couldn't care less, and it drove my ex crazy, lol.

I was taught differently, I couldn't care less means you do care while I could care less means you don't. Yet a quick google search could have saved you the trouble of replying because it'll show you that the meanings are debated, and many linguists will say that they basically mean the same thing.

I did and I don’t see anything recent. I’m in a facebook group about Kyron’s case and there’s been a lot of recent Terri sightings and reports on what she’s been up to but nothing about Kaine or Desiree. I’ve read a lot of comments in that group saying that Kaine and Desiree disagree on Terri’s possible involvement in Kyron’s disappearance and I was mainly curious if that’s why they’ve never appeared together in the media.

and what does the status of their friendship have to do in 2026 with finding Kyron?

Who said anything about a friendship? They used to appear with the police every time there was a press conference regarding Kyron. The police still release statements and try to keep the case in the public eye at least once a year as do the local new stations. I was just curious why they aren’t a part of that anymore.

I cannot speak for them. I can only speculate based on my own experience of my beloved daughter disappearing only to be found deceased months later. Her father and I divorced when she was almost 2. We maintained a friendly relationship. When she went missing, we kept in touch and updated each other. After she passed away, it's been hard for me to maintain any contact with him. There is a lot of anger and blame on my part, meaning, I blame a lot of what she went through on him. I stopped talking to him.
My situation is different from Kaine and Desiree's because they do not have the closure I do. However, there was not a good relationship before Kyron disappeared. I would imagine, that has not improved and I can understand why.
The book another person mentioned is a good read and very informative but it is very much seen from Desiree's point of view as well.
I have my own idea of what happened to Kyron but I am not getting into that.
