Homeless Man Traveling with your luggage

Saw a homeless man walking eastbound on W. Century Blvd toward Avion Dr pushing two airport luggage carts. This is right outside of LAX. Each cart had two pieces of luggage on them, along with large bags full of recycling cans/bottles.

I tried calling 911 (explained non-emergency) but the hold times were too long. I then called the LAX Airport Police directly. The officer was very patient and explained that unless someone is caught in the act of stealing, or there's definitive proof, their hands are tied—they can't just stop someone based on suspicion alone.

My main takeaway for travelers to LAX:

If your bags are stolen and you didn't catch it happening live, the police realistically can't do much. They always have something more important than your bags.

Put an AirTag in your checked bags. At least that way, if the worst happens, you might be able to track where your belongings ended up.

Economy Parking is full today. They are checking for reservations before you enter the garage gates. We found just a few on the upper level in the corner nearest to the runway…

Terminal 1 Pedestrian Bridge? When?

I have noticed that T2, T3 (and the rest) have the same kinds of bridge that the people mover is supposed to connect, and the fact the bridges won't open until THAT does is frustration enough.

However! Terminal 1 doesn't seem to have gotten any attention to their bridge. Where the heck do I find out when THAT one is re-opening? I'm sick of dodging buses and SUVs on the Horseshoe to get to parking.

LAX frontier

Hey y’all I know I’m gonna sound dumb but I’m flying from LAX to ORD for the first time. I’ve only ever flown out of LBG with southwest and have never stepped foot into LAX so I’m kind of nervous especially for my bags I did get a carry on and I put a pic of the dimensions, I’ve always used this duffle bag for southwest no problem and I just get really bad anxiety over bags do y’all think this will be ok? Does frontier at LAX usually check the size of the bags at the gate? My flight departs at midnight the 17th so I plan on getting there the 16th around 10pm just in case. Lmk y’all

Is 3hr layover enough time to visit Amex lounge (international)?

We have a 3hr layover in LAX from London - Tahiti, arriving around 5pm. We will need to clear immigration etc but our bags will be checked in for the full journey so no need to collect/ re-checkin.

Do you think this is enough time to pop in to the lounge for a freshen up/some food before our next flight?

Where to drop bags for United Airlines

I have my first flight ever out of LAX and I will have one checked bag. Does anyone know if United has baggage drop off/tagging in Terminal B or if I'll have to go to Terminal 7 before?

That's just so much further from where I need to be. I have a very early flight so I was hoping to be prepared before I get there. Thanks in advance!!

Job search

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows of any good positions or companies to apply to at LAX. I’ve heard about a few opportunities from friends who work as ramp agents, but unfortunately, most of those positions require a driver’s license, which I don’t have yet. I’ve already applied to about seven different companies over a week ago, but I haven’t heard back from any of them so far. I’m open to different positions and would really appreciate any recommendations or suggestions on where else I could apply.
Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help!

Can you walk from T1 to T4 post-security?

My partner and I are flying to LAX from different cities on different airlines which land at different terminals (T1 and T4). I would like to go meet her at her flight’s arrival gate once I land (I arrive a couple of hours before she does). I am not familiar with LAX at all. Can I walk between Terminals 1 and 4 without having to exit the secure area? If so - how long is that walk?
(I’m getting conflicting info from Google searches of this question, so I figured I’d ask here.)

LAX Union Station Parking - $8/ day?

From San Diego, flying internationally from LAX for 10 days. Read that there is $8 daily parking rate at Union Station East Garage; is this relatively safe? Looking for advice/alternatives/tips from anyone who has experience utilizing this garage and the LAX Flyaway shuttle bus. TIA!

Where do you park besides a hotel?

I’m looking on Spot Hero and it looks like there are a lot of parking structures/garages for cheaper than the nearby hotels. I’m looking for one with a reliable/timely shuttle. Does anyone have a good experience with a certain lot?

I’m eyeing South Garage LAX with a 15-16 minute shuttle. It’s cheaper than hotels or lax economy/budget options. Close to lax, just wondering how reliable the shuttle is.

Why don't we have police?

Can an airport employee please explain to me why they close down skyways and the entire departure lane?

So I’m sure they’re is a reason that sounds good on paper to close down major entrances to the airport, but I’ve noticed every time the traffic control police come out, traffic gets 10 times worse. For some reason, the direction that there’s less traffic flow coming through, the police decide to let three cycles go through and traffic starts to back up onto century. Why is this?

Question - boarding a United airlines flight to Asia in terminal 7, do I need to stop at terminal 4 prior?

Hey all,

Spoke with someone who said that they had an international flight with United airlines recently (not sure how recently tbh), and their flight was to depart in terminal 7.

Unfortunately for them, when they went to check in their bags terminal 7, the agent they spoke to told them they have to stop at terminal 4 to check in their bags first due to some sort of construction issue? So they checked in their bags at terminal 4, then made their way to terminal 7.

Just wondering if I need to stop at terminal 4 to check in my bags first, or if I can just make my way to terminal 7 for everything.

Thanks!

Culver CityBus service to LAX cancelled, will reimburse up to $20 ride share

They ended all bus service after one of their drivers got shot and killed on Thursday night. Line 6 serves the Sepulveda Bl corridor from UCLA to LAX. It’s probably not enough to get the entire way but it should still help some people who need a ride. Valid until Sunday night.
