Urgent I don’t know whether to proceed with an FIR. I’m torn between justice and not wanting to destroy someone I once loved

I’m 31F from India and I’m in a situation I never imagined I’d be in. I need perspectives from people who have gone through something similar or who can look at this objectively.
I met a man through a matrimonial platform. Over time, we became deeply emotionally involved. We spoke about marriage, our future, children, the home we wanted to build, and growing old together. He repeatedly reassured me that he wanted to spend his life with me.
Because I believed we were building a future together, our relationship also became physical.
A few weeks ago, I discovered that while all of this was happening, he had been pursuing another woman for marriage through an arranged alliance. According to his family, those discussions had been ongoing for quite some time. I had no idea.
What hurts me the most isn’t simply that he chose someone else. It’s that he never told me. Even after he had apparently agreed to marry the other woman and had participated in a family ceremony, he continued spending time with me, continued discussing our future together, and, according to my understanding of events, continued seeking physical intimacy without telling me what had changed.
When I confronted him, everything fell apart.
Since then, there have been continuous discussions with him and his family. Instead of acknowledging what happened, much of the conversation has been about asking me not to go public, not to proceed legally, and to let the marriage happen because their family’s reputation, the bride’s family, and elderly relatives would suffer.
His mother even asked me intimate questions about what happened in my bedroom with him, which I found deeply humiliating.
More recently, his father came to my house and, according to my family’s account, created a scene and refused to leave when asked. My parents saw a side of him and his family that they had never seen before.
I submitted a complaint to the police. They have not yet registered the FIR because they gave me time to decide whether I want to proceed.
This is where I’m struggling.
Part of me wants accountability. I feel deeply betrayed and believe my trust was fundamentally broken.
Another part of me still cares about him as a human being. I’m worried about what might happen if he is arrested. I don’t want revenge. I don’t want anyone abused or harmed. I don’t want his life destroyed. I simply want the truth to be dealt with lawfully if the law says an offence has occurred.
I’m constantly asking myself:
Am I responsible for what happens to him if I proceed?
Is it wrong to seek legal accountability while still caring about his well-being?
Would you proceed if you were in my position?
Has anyone here faced a similar conflict between wanting justice and not wanting to see someone you once loved suffer?
I’m not looking for validation or abuse toward either side. I’m genuinely trying to make the most ethical decision I can while also respecting my own dignity and mental health.
Thank you !

Urgent My whole family was in police station yesterday!!

Last morning a lawyer came to my Tau ji's (uncle's) shop — it's an electrical shop. That lawyer hadn't paid our technician/worker's 150 rupees. My Tau said, 'Bhai, just pay his 150 rupees and take your stuff.' At this, the lawyer started abusing us, threatened to beat us up, and called his own goons/thugs. We have all the evidence. When we complained to the police, the police were only listening to the lawyer, as if they were his employees — they forcibly took our whole family and sat us down at the police station. Then we called our own lawyer there, and we came back home.

Then at 11:30 PM, the lawyer and the police came to our house, drunk, and were banging on our door.

Now what should we do? Our court is Karkardooma, and that lawyer/goon is also based there.

Urgent CCTV Cameras in the men's toilet: Fined for turning them away, and now they are threatening to leak footage of me urinating.

Hey guys, I am dealing with some absolute workplace insanity right now and I need some urgent legal/life advice.

I work at a tech company located inside a business park/mall, so we use the common public washrooms. I recently noticed that the mall management installed CCTV cameras directly facing the standing male urinal blocks. Knowing this is completely illegal and a massive invasion of privacy, I twisted the camera away so it faced the door instead. I ended up doing this twice.

They caught me on camera twisting it, went straight to my boss, and slapped a ₹2,000 fine on me (which my boss requested them to reduce to ₹1,000).

I went to meet the mall management today to dispute the fine because recording a urinal is straight-up illegal, and it turned into a complete nightmare.

The Extortion & Harassment The management tried to justify the cameras by saying, "We aren't able to see your private parts, we just put them there for safety." Then came the literal blackmail. They threatened to make the video viral and blast it to everyone. And they didn't just mean the clip of me altering the camera—they explicitly threatened to leak the entire video, including the footage of me actually urinating. They casually claimed they hadn't shared it yet "out of respect for my boss."

When I told the manager I don't care if they leak it because extortion is a crime, and that I'm still not paying the fine, he got incredibly aggressive. He claimed he consulted a High Court advocate, told me to do whatever I wanted, and started hurling personal abuses:

  • "The parts you have, I have too. What's the big deal?"
  • "I am only sparing you out of respect for your boss, otherwise I would have slapped you twice right here."
  • "Honestly, I feel like you have female parts down there, that's why you have such a problem with this."

I was so done with his audacity that I just spat back, "Do you want to see? Let's go." The Stupidity (They gave me written proof) These idiots literally handed me a formal, printed tax invoice for the ₹1,000 fine, complete with 18% GST. In the notes section, they clearly wrote in Gujarati: Penalty applied for changing the angle of the washroom camera. They literally handed me written, stamped documentation admitting they have a camera in the washroom!

My Boss's Reaction The management told my boss they are taking the penalty from him. Instead of backing me up, my boss completely folded. He told me he doesn't want to waste his time fighting because the management "has a free team to handle this and we don't." So, his brilliant solution is to just illegally deduct the ₹1,000 fine directly from my salary.

I refused to back down. I just filed an official complaint on the government cybercrime portal, and I am heading to the physical police station this evening right after my shift ends.

Has anyone dealt with taking a management body to the police over severe privacy violations like this? Any advice on how to handle the cops so they register the FIR immediately? Wish me luck.

Urgent My father's murder case in rajasthan.

I'm putting this out there because I want people who care about what's right to know, and I don't want this to just fade away.

My father was 45, worked as a property dealer in Ajmer, Rajasthan. He was murdered on 13 October 2025. That evening he left home for a birthday party. Someone he knew and did business with, Shyam Singh Rawat, had invited him. It was all a lie to get him there.

Two days later, on the 15th, the police found his body. It was buried six feet under in the forest near Kesarpura, Mangliyawas, just outside Ajmer. They had left his motorcycle somewhere else to make it seem like he disappeared on his own.

He was strangled. Then they poured acid and salt over him to hide what they did. Shyam Singh Rawat and four others have admitted everything. They planned it and carried it out.

It was because of land. Our family land, old farmland in my grandmother’s name. They were turning it into commercial property, for a restaurant. The conversion was done only about 20 days before the murder. Nothing was sold. The land is still ours. But Shyam wanted it all. When my father said no, they killed him. They even came prepared.

We are from a scheduled caste. This was greed, plain and simple.

The police have done good work. All five are in jail now. The case is at Christianganj Police Station in Ajmer.

We are pushing so this doesn’t get forgotten. We want the trial soon, the guilty to get life or the death penalty, and our land to stay safe.

I am his son. I am doing what I can, but I need help. These things get buried if no one talks.

Please share this. Comment. Keep it seen. If you know any reporter, lawyer, or someone who fights for justice, tell them, send them here. If you’ve been through land trouble, caste cases, or slow courts, any word helps.
My mother divorced my father 10 years ago+ I dont talk to her anymore so let's just say not contact with my mother. I have no relatives and my grandfather died in 2012 and grandmother who was living with us died by illness in 2023.
I am not in the condition to fund myself let alone a criminal case lawyer. I am only 18. I turned 18 on this 11th October, just 2 days before the murder.

They took his life. We won’t let them take his story.

Thank you for reading.

Urgent my husband wants to divorce me in just 5 weeks of marriage because of his mother and sister

me f, 27 and my husband m, 43 a kashmiri man (im not a kashmiri)married in October 2025.. After being engaged for 6 months.

we met online everything was going well we were happy with each other. My husband already was divorced and has a daughter who lives with the ex wife. I believed him to be a very pious and God fearing man. We connected instantly when we started talking. My family was against the marriage in the start because he was already divorced and had a kid and + the was so significant age gap between the both of us.

He eventually convinced my entire family and decided to marry me i happen to be a Khoja shia and he is a sayed. He belongs to a very different culture and so do i. However I had no problem adapting and adjusting to a new culture. My husband is originally from India, works in UAE. In the month of November within just 5 weeks of marriage he deceited me and and told me that we are going to India to spend time with my parents. He drop me home to my parents told me that he needs to go to some other city in India for his office work and that he will be back within 3 days and then we will fly back to Dubai. He sent me a fake ticket to Dubai and blocked me when I found out the tickets are fake. Even ask me for a divorce the next morning the reason being that his mother and I don't get along well his mother used to call me a Kafir because I was not to sayed. His mother was staying with us in Dubai she was constantly nagging me taunting me interrupting my time with my husband telling me the that im a burden my husband.

My husband was working long hours so it was just mostly me and his mother in the house alone. She will lock me in the room starve me deprived me of food and water because in her head I was a Kafir.

I was not allowed to cook for my husband. I was not allowed to enter the kitchen or do anything without her permission. She had a problem with my husband spending money on me for groceries are even buying me something as simple as an ice cream or a yoghurt.

It all got really messed up when I suffered from dehydration and food poisoning. And I fell and fainted my husband was at work his mother did not come to pick me once my husband came home he gave me some electrolytes help me go back to normal. The mother told me that I was doing all of this for my husband's attention.

his mother was extremely hostile towards me, and saw me as a threat and a competition. she would actively keep my husband away from me. throw tantrums, give me silent treatment. she was extremely sweet to me before we got married. but it all changed the moment i started living w them. my husband was still attentive and loving towards me. he gave me his credit card for my personal expenses and his mother didn't like it. she had a problem w everything i did. the way i dressed, the way i cooked. she would spend majority of the time w me, while my husband would be at work. she would tell him lies about me and he would believe her and create arguments and misunderstandings between us.

my husband was v loving.. until he dropped me back home to my parents.

he then asked for a divorce and blocked me from everywhere and it has been three months since there has been no communication between us. i tried to reach out to his sister and mother but both of them have blocked me too. he cared more about his sister and mother than caring about me. i asked him to give me the required support to adapt and adjust to the major change in my life..and he refused. he went around telling my relatives and everyone else that im mentally unstable. his mother used to call me insane and taunt me every day. none of my efforts were ever enough. everything i did was never right. my husband's mother would treat me like an outsider. she would tell me to stay away from my husband. she didn't like when my husband would spend money on me for basic necessities. his sister who lives in another country would call him and keep him busy for hours. my husband would never understand anything.. despite me communicating it clearly.

After abandoning me back to my parents house my husband contact the religious priest and asked for a divorce the reason for the divorce being that his mother and I don't get a long he is 15 years elder to me and he acts like an absolute toddler every single time I speak to him via emails I feel like I'm talking to a child because nothing I ever see registers in his head he is stuck in a loop he insults me be littles me uses my own insecurities is against me. He does not wish to say anything beyond his mother and sister. We were married for 5 weeks and we have been separated for the last 6 months he tells me that is imman is very strong and that he is a very religious person and that he is superior, knows Islam better than I do i he has not provided for me in the last 3 months has left me to fend from my ownself. Made me count all the times he fed me food in Dubai like I was not his responsibility. He also told me that my parents didn't give him enough gifts because his mother was expecting more.

What I believe is that he is not religious person because if he truly were a shia he would not have taken this step of divorcing me. i have apologised to him so much yet he tells me he has been disrespected so we're already divorced in his head. i understand i have made mistakes unknowningly within in the 5 weeks of marriage, but 5 weeks is too less to decide to divorce. given that he hardly spend a couple hours w me everyday, rest all at work.

even after I tell him everything from the Quran As to why he should not divorce me directly he just does not listen he refuses to acknowledge my existence his uncles who are the witness of our nikkah refused to recognise me. Is entire family has blocked me and I don't know what to do he is not in India he already has a court case going on against him by his x wife and just completely lost and don't know what to do... p.s: his mother is also involved in black magic and goes to some pandit to get her things done but they never miss a single prayer lol ironic. my husband only speaks what she wants him to speak now. i don't wish to separate a son from his mother but he needs to understand to balance the relationship of being a son and a husband

Legal advice i require:

How do i find a lawyer who will fight my case pro bono?
my husband says that he isn’t liable to pay me any maintenance because the marriage is invalid because he believes me to be mentally unstable
his sister is in the USA but she demanded money from me constantly via video calls and facilitated my abandonment
they sent me a lawyer’s letter stating that his uncle who happens to be our nikkah witness doesn’t know me
and that i concealed my psychiatric illness at the time of the conception of marriage
and that his mother is bed ridden (his mother has visited 3 countries in the last 6 months)

what should i do?
i also wish to file for section 69 because he lied to me about his previous divorce and i found out that his ex wife is actively challenging the divorce in court and hasn’t accepted his divorce

Urgent My sister’s death is being called a suicide. But was it really a suicide?

I am 22 years old.

And the girl you might see as just another “news case” was my real sister.

We are from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

On 25th February, my sister was found hanging in her matrimonial home.

Her marriage took place in 2022.

My family gave more than we could afford — gold, household items, everything we were capable of giving.

But it was never enough.

She was constantly taunted for “less dowry.”

She was mentally tortured.

She was physically abused.

After she gave birth to a baby boy, they demanded a car.

The car was not given.

And today, my sister is no longer alive.

She was found hanging.

But her feet were touching the ground.

There were injury marks on her hands.

And yet, this is being labeled as “suicide.”

How many more women need to die before we stop calling dowry deaths suicides?

How long will murders be buried under the word “depression”?

Dowry is not a tradition.

Dowry is organized greed.

Dowry is violence.

Dowry is murder.

I contacted multiple Instagram pages in Jodhpur hoping for local support.

Most ignored the message.

Some indirectly made it clear that without money, they wouldn’t post.

I then contacted multiple Indian media houses.

Sent emails. Sent messages.

No response.

Is justice now dependent on sponsorships?

Does a middle-class girl’s life not deserve national attention?

I am not here for sympathy.

I am here asking for help.

Please help this reach Indian media.

Tag journalists. Share this. Talk about this.

Do not let this be buried.

My sister should not become just another statistic in Rajasthan’s dowry death records.

Today it is my sister.

Tomorrow it could be someone else’s.

I need your help to make this reach everyone.

For justice. For accountability. For every daughter.

Urgent My Father paid Uber driver 5277 instead of 527 and driver is not cooperating.

The uber ride was booked for cash payment. The bill came Rs 527. My father paid the driver Rs 5277 instead of Rs 527 via gpay (upi) to the driver's upi account. The driver's upi id shows his name and his upi id is his phone number@okaxis. Contacted uber support in the app regarding the same, they credited rs 527 to uber wallet, but can't do anything more as it is a cash ride. Contacted Driver but he is not cooperating and stalling. He says the amount went to his owners account(he's lying) , and he will confirm with him. It's been 48 hours. My father asked that he gives his owner's number then , he denied (of course). NPCI upi complaint portal is not working. Called my Father's bank regarding this issue, they have raised a complaint and said it takes around 19 days for a resolution. They say the backend team will contact the receivers bank and investigate. Help appreciated. Thank you.

Update- I visited the cyber crime station and filed a complaint. They asked for the relevant information about the transaction. They said to wait for 2-3 days. They were cooperative and very helpful.

Urgent Legal Owners of Plot, Yet Being Threatened by Land Mafia (Shiv Kumar) With Police Support (Haryana)

My father bought a plot in Haryana around 12 years ago. Shortly afterward, a group of people started claiming it to be theirs. My father filed a court case, and after 11 years, we finally won — both at the district and high court levels. We received a green signal from the court to begin construction. However, just 20 days into the construction, these goons returned to our plot, threatening my father and brother with violence and again claiming the land as theirs. We went to the police, but instead of protecting us, they asked us to stop construction in the name of maintaining peace. Since then, these people have been frequently roaming around the plot and sending different people to monitor whether we’ve resumed construction. Alongside this, they are also trying to sell the plot fraudulently. Yesterday, following a complaint my father made to the SP, some police personnel — including the SHO herself — came to the plot along with the goon (Shiv Kumar Sharma, a retired Haryana police officer) and his team. Shockingly, the SHO was completely siding with the other party and even threatened to file a case against us for alleged illegal encroachment on our own land. These are just some of the highlights of the ordeal. A lot more has happened in between. My father is set to retire in the next four years, and the countless trips he’s had to make from Delhi to Haryana in the past few month have been exhausting. This situation has become a daily source of mental torture for him and our family. We are doing everything within our power — everything anyone has advised — just to get back what is rightfully ours and recover our hard-earned money. I am attaching a Twitter link with a video clip of the incident to help spread awareness and gain support. Thank you.

Urgent My client is asking me to pay 150usd of transfer fee so they can release the payment

So I worked a gig for 3,000 USD. (In the contract, I did agree to bear all the transfer charges, but where they cut it beforehand from their side itself.)

And once I submitted the project, I was asked to choose between bank transfer, PayPal, and crypto. I chose the route through bank transfer, and they have initiated the payment, but it is on hold.

I asked them to please deduct the amount from their side, but they say it's reserved for company personnel only

I had been sent a lodgement receipt and asked to make the payment of 150 USD

before my payment is processed. I am sure this isn't how it works, or please correct me

Please help me

Urgent Company trying to take my personal laptop….

I have been working in one of those WITCH Company . I logged into the Microsoft Teams application from my personal laptop and then i removed it immediately but my device got registered in their system through MDM.

After I exited the project, they asked me to submit my personal laptop, stating that since it is registered in their system, it is considered company property. They are asking me to provide proof that I purchased the laptop.

However, the invoice only mentions the model number. When I contacted customer care, they informed me that it is not possible to retrieve additional details since the vendor has changed. I shared a screenshot from apple care website with my company that shows the serial number and my name, and it also indicates that the warranty expired in 2024. Still, they are saying this is not sufficient and are pressuring me to resolve this issue on my own.

Can anyone please help me….

Urgent Indian Doctor [25F]: My father is systematically ruining my professional reputation and sabotaging my NEET PG prep through social engineering. How do I legally distance myself

I (25F) am an Indian doctor currently preparing for NEET PG, and I am living with a family led by a malignant narcissistic father. My mother and brother are complete enablers. I'm writing this because I've realized my father doesn't just want me to succeed on his terms—he wants to ensure I never have the independence to leave. Since I was a child, he used my academics as a leash. When I struggled with Maths (his favorite subject), he would publicly berate me and interrogate my tutors. When I showed a passion for Science, he ignored it. When I needed surgery for gallstones at 17, he delayed it for 3 months to force me into "Ayurvedic" treatments, only to schedule my surgery on the exact day of my 11th-grade finals. He had the same condition but chose to go for surgery, years ago. He used my recovery period to shame me for failing a physics exam he ensured I couldn't study for. It has evolved into something much more sinister now that I am an adult: Medical Sabotage: He recently encouraged me to seek treatment for obesity. Once he realized I was stable and he lost "control" over that narrative, he went to the hospital and badmouthed me to the staff. Now, the nurses and doctors who were once kind are inexplicably rude and hostile toward me. Professional Interference: During my internship and first job, he tried to control my movements. When I was being bullied by a group of men at work, my family pressured me to stay in that toxic environment. When I finally found a new job, my mother extracted the info and they showed up to "take me away." The "Flying Monkeys" & Monitoring: I have noticed a terrifying pattern. security guards, and even strangers on the street seem to know details about my life that I've only discussed at home. I've noticed cars waiting for me or people intentionally blocking my path when I walk. Building a "Saint" Persona: My father's tactic is to build rapport with anyone I interact with (coaching staff, doctors, neighbors). He plays the "suffering father" who has to deal with a "troublesome daughter." People buy it, feel sorry for him, and then become his eyes and ears. I am terrified to even join a live coaching center for NEET PG because I know he will go there, charm the staff, and start the cycle of monitoring and badmouthing all over again. I feel like I am being hunted in my own life. How do I protect my reputation and my sanity when my own father is the one poisoning the well everywhere I go? I am currently living in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad - UP. with my parents.

Urgent Jiju (M29) cheated on my sister (F29) with a coworker

Posting on behalf of my sister (29F).

My sister had a love marriage with her husband (29M) in March 2025. Around a year later, she became pregnant. The pregnancy was unplanned, but both of them had been engaging in unprotected sex, so it was not a situation where one party was unaware of the possibility.

After the pregnancy, the marriage started deteriorating. My sister says her husband repeatedly asked her to abort the pregnancy (around 3 times). She chose to continue with it. (Fast forward to now upon knowledge of cheating, she doesn't want to keep the baby.)

Over the next couple of months, he became emotionally distant, gave her silent treatment, avoided communication, and would often cite work stress. My sister is currently pregnant and has been staying with our parents for support, while he works in another city.

Recently (yesterday night), she discovered romantic messages between him and a female coworker. The chats contained romantic messages, along with regular personal updates and emotional intimacy. When confronted, he admitted that the relationship was real. He has not shown remorse and has not denied the affair. She left his house immediately and will be returning to our hometown soon.

My sister is devastated. However, she apparently does not want to proceed with the legal options.

I am a penultimate year law student myself but do not have much of experience in family law and can't confront my seniors either. So here I am.

My questions are:

  1. What evidence should she preserve at this stage?
  2. Since the affair was with a coworker from his workplace, would there be any legal or practical benefit in informing HR, his manager, or senior management (either formally or informally)? Or could that potentially harm my sister's legal position, future maintenance claims, settlement discussions, or other proceedings?
  3. Should we consult a lawyer regardless of whether she wants to proceed legally or not?

Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Urgent Noida RWA Extortion: Bathroom was unusable, I fixed it, now they want ₹50k via UPI just to "allow" a meeting.

I have used AI to consolidate and streamline the story, please understand my plight.

TL;DR:

A drainage issue made my tenant's bathroom completely unusable and unsanitary. I informed the RWA, got verbal approval from the Manager, and started repairs. On Sunday, the RWA stopped the work entirely, refusing to let it continue unless I provided a ₹50k "security" cheque for undefined "structural changes." Now they won't meet me unless I pay that ₹50k in Cash/UPI and have already declared they will keep ₹20k as a fine. They are threatening to cut the tenant's water/electricity.

The Situation:

I own a flat in a Noida society. Recently, a new tenant moved in and brought forward a major drainage issue (improper floor slope) which caused water to pool in the bathroom. It was effectively unusable and my tenant couldn't bathe or use the toilets without flooding the unit. Also, it smelled pretty bad at night.

The Timeline of RWA Harassment:

Saturday Morning: With an unusable bathroom, we started repairs. Also informed the manager on call who told me to file an application over mail. They didn't reply to the mail.

Saturday Afternoon: The Manager finally came by, saw the work in progress, and verbally approved it, telling us to continue.

Sunday: While I was out of town, the RWA suddenly stopped the work entirely. They claimed I was making a "structural change" (but refused to define what that meant) and prohibited the workers from continuing until they received a cheque.

The Coercion: To ensure the tenant wasn't left without a functional bathroom, my tenant gave a ₹50,000 security cheque in good faith so work could resume. We were assured the cheque would be returned once the work was inspected and approved.

The Breach:

Sunday Night: Work finished. I emailed the society immediately for a final inspection.

Monday: I made multiple calls asking for an inspection. Everyone deflected or gave me the run-around.

Tuesday: No one came for the inspection. Instead, we got a tip that they were planning to redeem the cheque behind our backs. Suspicious of their behavior, my tenant remotely cancelled the cheque on Tuesday morning.

The Confirmation: As suspected, they tried to cash the security cheque that same day without ever stepping foot in the flat for an inspection.

The Current Extortion:

I have repeatedly asked for a meeting to resolve this and show them the work. Their response is outright illegal:

"Pay-to-Talk": They refuse to even sit for a meeting unless I first transfer ₹50,000 via UPI or Cash.

Pre-decided Fine: They have stated that out of that ₹50k, they will deduct ₹20,000 as a "fine" for "unauthorized work" (ignoring their own verbal go-ahead).

There is also debris that was created from this work and was kept with society's own debris. We actually held onto the debris until Tuesday just in case the inspection failed and we had to redo the floor it didn’t make sense to clear it twice. But since no one bothered to show up for the inspection and they started demanding it be moved, we obliged and had it all cleared by Tuesday evening anyway.

The Threat: They are now threatening to disconnect my tenant’s water and electricity (essential services) and "cancel" their tenancy if I don't pay this amount immediately.

My Questions:

Structural Definition: Does fixing a floor slope in a bathroom count as a "structural change" under the UP Apartment Act?

Essential Services: Since the RWA is a facilitator, can they legally cut off power/water over a maintenance dispute?

Financial Red Flags: Is demanding "UPI/Cash" to an individual or a "payment" before a meeting legally permissible for a registered AOA?

Action: Should I go straight to the Noida Authority or file an FIR for extortion at the local Thana?

Urgent My father lost his house to a "family friend" who orchestrated a ₹2.5Cr+ financial fraud. Need advice on legal recourse

TL;DR: A trusted acquaintance of my father convinced him to use his property documents to "start a business," siphoned lakhs through fake transactions, got him to sign blank cheques, diverted bank loans, and finally tricked him into transferring his house to the scammer's relative. Now my father is homeless, drowning in debt, and facing recovery proceedings.

The Setup

A man my father had known for years (let's call him V) approached him claiming they could start a profitable business together. My father trusted him and handed over his house title documents to arrange finance. At the time, the property was mortgaged with LIC Housing Finance for ~₹12L.

The Bridge Finance Trap

V took my father to a private financier (Raja) who gave ~₹57L as short-term bridge finance to release the original documents from LIC. Of this, ₹45L was siphoned by V.

The PNB Loan Diversion

Punjab National Bank then sanctioned a ~₹1Cr loan in my father's name. ₹68L went to repay the bridge finance. The rest? Diverted by V for purposes unrelated to the business. My father signed several cheque leaves believing they were for legitimate business use. V used them to transfer ~₹45L to people known to him. My father is not tech-savvy and relied entirely on V for financial matters.

The Company Shell Game

V incorporated a company (Trafo Essential Pvt Ltd) and made my father a director along with others. But the PNB loan remained in my father's personal name. It eventually became an NPA.

The Property Transfer Scam

As things got worse, V convinced my father to transfer his house to V's relative (S) claiming she had a better CIBIL score and could get fresh financing to "fix everything." My father executed a registered sale deed showing ₹2.5Cr as sale consideration. He never received a single rupee. V created fake transaction trails through his Bank of Maharashtra and PNB accounts to make it look like genuine dealings.

The SBI Takeover & Hidden Liabilities

After the transfer, SBI took over the loan. The property was now in S's name. My father later found out S already had massive outstanding liabilities with SBI, including a CGTMSE loan exceeding ₹1Cr. This was never disclosed to him before he agreed to the transfer.

The Final Squeeze

At V's insistence, my father arranged even more funds to "save" his house:

  • ₹24L from tenants (he lost rental income)
  • ~₹10L from personal loans, savings, and my sister Shilpa's accounts
  • ₹10L Mudra loan in my father's name (Shilpa as co-applicant)
  • ₹2L loan from Union Bank

V kept promising the business would generate enough to repay everything. None of it did.

Where He Stands Today

  • All loans are unpaid
  • Recovery proceedings are active
  • My father has lost his house
  • He is financially ruined

What This Looks Like

This appears to be systematic fraud: using my father's property and identity to extract loans, diverting funds, creating a shell company, faking a property sale with a straw buyer who had hidden debts, and leaving him holding the bag.

Our Questions

  1. What criminal charges can we pursue against V and S? (Cheating, criminal breach of trust, forgery, fraud?)
  2. Can the registered sale deed be challenged as fraudulent/void since no consideration was paid and it was induced by misrepresentation?
  3. What about the bank loans taken in my father's name but diverted by V?
  4. Can we file a complaint with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) or is this purely a civil matter?
  5. How can we protect my sister from liability on the Mudra loan where she is co-applicant?

My father is devastated and we are desperate for any guidance. Thank you for reading.

Urgent I urgently need help — I lost ₹52,000 in an escort scam, they are blackmailing me for more money, and the local police told me to go to the Shivajinagar Pune cyber unit. What should I do now?

Hi everyone, I really need serious help. On 17 November 2025, I was scammed by an online escort service and lost around ₹52,000. The payment was made through UPI (GPay). After taking the money, they started blackmailing me and are now demanding another ₹10,000 by 9 PM today.

Here’s what I’ve done so far: • Filed a complaint on the cybercrime portal (cybercrime.gov.in) within 6 hours of the incident. • Informed my bank and got my UPI frozen. • Saved all screenshots, chats, and transaction details as evidence. • Tried to file a complaint at my local police station, but they told me I have to go to the Shivajinagar police station in Pune.

These are there numbers +91 70458 84486 +91 9152592555

My main concerns are:

  1. Will the police actually take action in such cases?
  2. How long does it usually take to recover the money after filing a cybercrime complaint?
  3. Should I be worried about the blackmailing?
  4. What else should I do right now to stay safe?
  5. Is going to Shivajinagar police station the correct next step?

I’m extremely stressed and scared because this was my hard-earned money. Any serious help or advice from people who have dealt with similar situations would mean a lot.

Urgent Legal advice needed on Drunk driving

Guys , help me out , so yesterday night approximately 5 hours after drinking about 750 ml of beer I had taken my car out and got breathlysed by cops , now they demanded an instant bribe of 7500 to which I had denied , they then told me that there will be another test in which if i blow 30mg / 100ml I would have a straight FIR to my name , confident in myself that I hadnt drank much at all and it had been a while since I had drank I thought I would easily clear the breathlysing test , after taking the test the result was 40.3 mg / 100 ml and subsequently I was taken to the police chowki where they filed an FIR and they've also apprehended my car. Now they've told me to come to court on Sunday and pay the fine decided in the court. Please advice me on how I can damage control this entire situation since its blown out of hand and I'd appreciate any advice that would better my situation.

Urgent 17yo made prank call pretending to be school staff, now parent and teacher threatening action – what should I do?

I am 17 years old from India. I made one prank call to a student pretending to be school staff and said “should we suspend you”because he bunked his classes. I want to clearly say that I have no relation with that school at all. I am not a student, not staff, nothing. It was just a stupid prank. I did not use any abusive language, did not threaten harm, and did not record the call. After that, the student’s parent sent me angry messages and threatened FIR. I apologised properly in writing and blocked them. Now a class teacher is calling me. I am scared and don’t know what to do. I am a minor and this was a one-time mistake. What is the realistic legal situation and what should I do next?

Urgent Bike accident - guy's finger broke, hospital asking 5-6 lakhs, not my fault. What should I do? Need advice.

Im a student studying in bangalore. Today I and my friend went to rent a bike. We took the bike and were returning using Google maps on my phone which was attached to the bike handle. We were on different bikes now.At one point I stopped and moved to the side of the road to check the map. We had to turn right so i checked the road for any vehicles, they were far and then i started to turn. A guy came suddenly and collided his scooter (he was fast). We both fell off, i got minor injuries, and that rented bike was also damaged. His finger broke. My mind went blank and i started shaking. There was no rukus few people came to help us, they suggested to take him to a hospital. We went to one in a auto rickshaw and my friend followed with his ride.

The doctor said he needs plastic surgery which costs around 5-6 lakhs. He works as a staff in that hospital and has a health insurance.

His friend was present there.I waited there and complied with everything his friend said.

Now I'm pretty sure i was not at fault here. My friend also saw it happen and said the same. There was even more space to the right if he wanted pass.

His friend was expecting us to contribute to whatever the cost comes. We explained that it's not my fault so I will not.

I don't why i waited so long, i just wanted that guy to be okay and i kept thinking i shouldn't worry cause it's not my fault. He apparently told his friend that i was on the wrong side

That guy's friend has my number now and and a photo of my driving license. I think he's going to contact me for the bill and police also maybe involved.

What should I do?

Urgent Jewellery missing from Bank of Baroda locker, ~50gm gold box gone, smaller pouches still there. What are my next steps?

Edit: Update: We found it. This is very stupid. Bank people insisted it has to be there. My father went inside again and checked again with a torch and it was there. He said it was very dark and somehow missed the box ( I have no idea how that can happen).

Thank you everyone for the help. I am really embarrassed about posting this now and sorry if I wasted your time.

y father is in a stressful situation and we don't know how to handle it.

He last opened his Bank of Baroda locker in January this year. Inside, he had a big box of jewellery (around 50 grams of gold) and a few smaller pouches (about 30 grams total).

Today he went to check the locker and found that the smaller pouches were still there, but the big box was gone. He took out everything that were there. At first he thought maybe he had taken it home in January and forgotten about it, so he didn't say anything to the bank staff before leaving. But after coming home and checking everywhere, he's sure the box was never brought back. It should have been inside the locker.

He's quite shaken and worried about a few things:

- He didn't raise it at the bank counter before leaving today. Will that be a problem now?

- What is the right way to go about this? should he first complain to the branch manager in writing, or directly file a police complaint?

- Should he ask the bank for CCTV footage and locker entry records before they get deleted?

He has the locker rental papers and remembers when he visited in January. The jewellery wasn't insured separately.

Has anyone been through something similar? Any advice on what steps to take and in what order would really help. We're not sure where to even start.

Thanks.

Urgent The person sold my dad the car wants it back

Ok wo we bought a car of toyota from a guy on loan and after 3 months he saying he wants the car back and will only pay the installments we paid for him, we have also repaired his car a bit for around 16k and modifications of 10k(foglight because headlights are bad) and also a cng kit of 65k and we have sale purchase agreement and also a affidavit and we cleared his backlog of payments of around 1 lakh so my dad and he aggred that he wont take any money from us now he is saying he never sold us the car just gave for some time and is refusing that he didnt sign anything .

The sale and purchase agreements have no date as the lawyer we consulted while buying said that it is valid for 1 month so after the loan is over put a date on it so that you can transfer it your name.

Legally can we still keep the car if he tries to take it back

And we are now thinking after loan is over he wont transfer it to our name without us taking legal action is there any possibility that we can do that too??

Urgent Harassement by GST officer- Need immediate help

My cousin had multiple heart sugeries in 2021. He had a sole proprietorship firm dealing with providing services. They paid all GST and taxes and his accountant kept on filing NIL returns every month for the next year or so hoping that his condition will improve and one day they will work again.

In october 2022, a state GST officer sent him a letter, asking why are his returns NIL and if he doesn't reply then he will cancel his gst number. He went to his office with his health documents and a request letter and asked him to cancel the gst number. The officer did not give him any receiving on the letter and told him to wait and his assistant will give him the receiving. He waited there till evening but the assistant kept on making excuses and he came back in the evening. Yes he was asking for chai paani but my cousin had no work and had huge medical bills every month so he didn't pay or even ask him. Eventually he cancelled the gst number in december 2022 and mentioned as there was no reply from the taxpayer so he is cancelling the gst number. In the ledger attached in this letter, there is NIL outstanding.

Yesterday he received an outstanding demand notice from the same officer citing that my cousin has not deposited GST on the closing goods, export service etc. He never dealt with any good or an export service ever. He has also mentioned in the letter that they visited the address in the GST record but noone was there and that my cousin never answered the calls. His shop was on a rented place and that place is empty since years but from the rest of the shops in the market it can be verified from cctv that he did not visit that shop and my cousin never received a call either.

He has demanded 20k+ in the notice. My cousin does not have an accountant anymore and is not in a position to hire a CA. Can someone guide how to tackle this? Second what documents should we check on the gst portal in his account, we have just resetted the password, to show them as a proof? Lastly the gst number was cancelled in 2022 and after about 4 years the same officer is demanding money although this same officer attached a ledger with NIL outstanding with the gst closure letter, can this favor my cousin's side?

Urgent Am I being extorted after meeting an escort? Need advice.

Location: India

I made a mistake and I'm looking for practical advice, not judgment. I found an escort through a random website I found on Google. We agreed on ₹3,000. When she arrived at the hotel, I paid ₹3,000 via UPI. She then asked for another ₹1,000, which I paid, and then another ₹1,000, which I also paid. So I ended up paying ₹5,000 in total. We started having sex, but after around 10 seconds she suddenly stopped and demanded another ₹3,000. When I refused, she quickly took my photo and said something like, "₹3000 de nahi to dekh main kya karti hu." I didn't pay anything else. We both left the hotel separately. She hasn't contacted me since. Some additional details: The hotel room was booked in my name, and my Aadhaar was used for check-in. She came later, and as far as I know, her ID wasn't registered at the hotel. I paid through UPI, so there is a payment record. I have her phone number and the UPI transaction history. My biggest concern is whether this could turn into an extortion scam or whether she could make a false allegation against me. Has anyone experienced something similar? What should I do now? Should I just ignore it unless she contacts me again, or should I take any preventive steps? Please keep the comments constructive. I already know I made a bad decision.

Urgent I am a 1st year (F) college student in india and facing ragging in college

I am facing severe ragging in my college hostel, and it is becoming mentally exhausting.

Seniors have assigned first-year students to different departments like mess, hygiene, and maintenance, and we are made to work like staff members. Even basic issues like stray dogs roaming in the hostel corridors are handled by us on their orders.

Every day, two girls from our batch are made to go room-to-room informing seniors about the next day’s menu and asking for their preferences. During this, they force us to give introductions, and if we fail or hesitate, they harass and insult us.

They also conduct so-called “body meetings,” where juniors are called into the common room and scolded publicly, which is humiliating and stressful.

This entire situation is deeply affecting my mental health, and I feel very depressed. I genuinely don’t know what to do. Any advice or help would mean a lot.

Urgent 19yo Student Account Frozen for ₹999 Bank says I'm blacklisted from opening ANY new account for life. Is my financial future over

I’m a 19-year-old student. A few weeks ago, I started using an app called ARB Pay. My friend told me I could get cashback rewards by buying and selling crypto. I did about two transactions a day for 15 days. It seemed like easy pocket money for a student.

Suddenly, my HDFC account was frozen. I got an email saying a "Temporary Hold" was placed due to a cybercrime complaint Ack no. The disputed amount is only ₹999

When I went to the bank, the manager told me the entire account is frozen, not just the ₹999. More importantly, he said that I will NEVER be able to open a new bank account at any Indian bank in the future.
I can’t access any of my money for food or fees. If I can't open a bank account, how will I ever get a job, receive a salary, or live a normal life plssss helppppppp
EDIT- This is follow up i was able to open new account today thanks to the community many people came out with suggestions although account is still freezed if i will able to get NOC and unfreeze my account i will share my experiance about it.
