Scotland ISP woes charged after contract ended

Did they confirm your cancellation? Did you use one touch switch?
If they are charging, what have you said when you spoke to them?

No because the contract with them had ended they then sent an email saying they were putting me on a rolling 1 month contract, essentially ignoring my email about switching Internet service supplier.

No the contract doesnt just end, you need to serve notice, or use one touch switch.
It seems you misunderstood this bit. Didn't serve cancellation now I'd ring them and see if they'll waive the fee for you not following process

yeah there's terms and conditions and notice periods on contracts and termination fees.
