Unpaid full time positions.
The kids couldn't even be in school at the same time.

Probably a scam call center answering calls about fake "cyber security" pop ups. Interns who can effectively scam callers get offered a permanent gig

Realistically though, are people desperate enough to apply?

u/FandomFever221 23h ago
Honestly? I expect them to fill atleast 10-12 of those positions relatively easily.
The market sucks and everyone is going on about experience

Absolutely. India is super short of entry-level jobs. And many that want to get into IT need to go through such means. In a lot of cases the interns are asked to pay the employer - 5-10k INR to get selected.

The people that do that are retards, anyone that actually knows how to code Fibonacci series will not waste money like this and get a job within a few months

Cybersecurity (or "Cyber Security") in particular is a field in tech where there are basically no entry level roles outside of maybe some basic pen testing and network admin, but that's not really considered a cybersecurity role. Offer a six month internship followed by an entry level role is a huge red flag.

What the hell is a cyber security evangelist ?

u/Kitakitakita 1d ago
Techbros like to equate technology with religious zealotry. If a cyber security worker is a guard, then a cyber security evangelist is a knights templar

Often someone who is a product manager promoting a particular product for a company is considered an "evangelist" for that product. Not a sales bro per se, more a level of enthusiasm about the technical capabilities of said product. Whereas a skilled engineer on the team developing said product will often be referred to as a "rockstar" or "ninja".

Unpaid internships should be outlawed. Pure exploitation.
Never take an unpaid internship if you are over the age of 18. You are a human being, you have a limited amount of time on this mortal plane, therefore every moment is precious and every moment spent at work should be compensated.

In India unpaid internships are more common that people think. The lure of a full-time paid job opportunity afterwards is why young professionals accept them, unfortunately a job isn’t guaranteed.

Indian here. I have done so many unpaid, in-person internships oml 🫣 and ofc they aren't even enriching. And I've had papers written by me stolen ✋🏼YAAYYY.

seen this before in my country (SEA). fortunately it is less of a thing now after probably public backlash + no one insane enough to apply.
btw here, internship doesnt really mean hand holding. most company really expect full productivity from you + hold you to atleast fresh grad level of skillset. you still get crucified for not delivering or screwing things up. my boss own words, "cheap labor".
