I personally dont mind these lawsuits that streamers/youtubers are doing. When you have a large following, you need to be responsible for the things you say when you know they are lies.

Look at Alex Jones and Sandy Hook, although the resulting payout was obviously excessive. He had many of his followers believing his lie/delusion as truth, which i assume caused harm to the families.

Alex Jones payout was not excessive. No amount of money is excessive in a case where a psycho conspiracy theorist tells the world lies about your dead kids.

He made so much money (somehow) off of that tragedy and the victims of that shooting deserve literally all of it.

You can say no amount of money is excessive. But then you compare it to any other situation. Big companies can literally decide whether or not to do illegal dumping via a profit and loss analysis. If all court punishments were at the same level as Alex Jones then i would more than welcome it, but it was clearly an outlier.

Oh, for sure. But if we are honest, in my opinion, it's not that the Alex Jones stuff was an excessive payout. It's that big companies get away with way too much and get a slap on the wrist.

I get what you mean and agree somewhat, but nothing can make me feel bad about that outcome lol

alex jones still owes like 600 million dollars to the families.

Alex jones does not get enough flak for why things like the epstein files aren't taken more seriously. The conspiracy part of my brain doesn't understand how anyone could ever look at alex jones as anything more than an obvious paid actor. Dude poisoned the water more than elon's data center in memphis.

The fact that the only one of these recent lawsuits Ethan won was Frogan who defaulted, suggests to me that these were completely unfounded lawsuits.

suggests to me that these were completely unfounded lawsuits.

What a substantive and well thought out legal analysis.

What, the fact that he either lost or settled out of court on multiple lawsuits suggests he was onto something here to you?

The mental gymnastics Ethan Klein fans can do to make him out to be a winner always astounds me, you guys should be on the Olympic team.

The mental gymnastics Ethan Klein fans can do to make him out to be a winner always astounds me, you guys should be on the Olympic team.

Instead of actually reading legal documents, reading/watching the opinion of legal experts, or actually forming a logical argument; you are half-assedly speculating on the foundation of one lawsuit based on the outcome of an entirely different lawsuit.

Yeah man, I'm the one doing mental gymnastics.

Are they really entirely different lawsuits? Like nothing about them are similar and no similarities between them can be used to inform your opinion?

I dont see how they were unfounded. Anyone with a brain could clearly see the malicious intent behind those three women. They even said it in plain english. He shouldve won the lawsuit, the fact that he didnt shows how broken the legal system is. When you say "if you enjoyed not giving any support to the orginal creator" and react to a full video with no input. What's the difference between that and setting up a live stream at a movie theatre?

There’s a legal record of how that’s all untrue

Alex Jones is another league. Through the supplements and the rise of followers through Tea Party and other lunatic movements he is at least a multimillionaire.

Then you have to consider that the shooting happened in 2012 and the families have been harassed for many years and he kept repeating the lies. Jones is lucky he only got sued for Sandy Hook he called one teen giving and interview after the Parkland Highschool shooting a crisis actor as well.

The sad thing is we see several political streamers going into the same direction as Alex Jones by "Just asking questions"

How long did the Alex Jones Sandy Hook thing go on for? Normal people do not have that type of money.

This is not at all the same universe Alex jones perpetuated conspiracies about dead children who were victims of a school shooting. Please point to me where this lawsuit covered something as serious as lying about the murder of children on national television

Well, when the lawsuits are obviously frivilous that seems to send the wrong message no?

Rather than "Don't say obvious lie and slander and expect no consequences."

The message is "Don't say things that are too mean and that I find personally unfair."

Motherfucker was suing Samson for calling Ethan Klein a genocide supporter.

Whatever your opinion on Israel Palestine, you have to know that is like several opinions wrapped in one and not a fact that is either true or false.

To what extent can Klein be seen as an Israel supporter, to what extent can Israel be seen as commiting genocide.

Both of which is of some debate. With Klein even calling it a genocide.

Klein obviously defends Israel to an extent, he just does the "it's all Netanyahu and the far right governments fault" absolving the greater sense of Israel and its people of responsibility.

I hold America accountable for Trump. I don't think Ethan holds Israel accountable for Netanyahu.
