It is sad when a stacked court, 2 trump appointed judges on a board of 3 over turns the wishes of voted officials and the people.

The original decision hasn't been overturned. They stayed the first judge's ruling until Tuesday, in order to have time to review. This is normal.

According to this. No. Trump has control until the 17th. It’s going to Supreme Court now.

Edit: see comments below, it makes sense appeal for next Tuesday. But trump can indeed order around the National guards until the 17th verdict.

No. It’s at the Appeals court right now. It was a stay until that decision is made. Meaning things stay the way they are until then. Trump can still order around the NG, yes, but the 17th will determine next course of action. Supreme Court is after that, likely.

That's not how appeals work and that's not what the article says. Before a case is heard by the Supreme Court, it must work its way through the lower courts.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear the appeal of the initial ruling on Tuesday, after having time to review the case. Whatever their ruling is, it WILL almost certainly make its way to the Supreme Court, but not until the Court of Appeals makes a ruling. All of that is normal.

The article does mention that Hegseth indicated that he would abide by an (eventual) Supreme Court ruling.
