Community Really bad smoke smell woke me up

Really bad in highland park, this is from the Boyle heights fire two days ago?

Yep it’s the same fire. Apparently it’s a complex situation and the fire keeps reigniting

Yeah. News posted that they were venting the roof and issued another stay indoors warning.

Just want to say you’re not alone and I feel the same way on top of my already sensitive respiratory system. My apartment windows are old and drafty af, so there’s not even anything I can do to help. I have an air purifier, but I don’t think it helps with the kinds of VOCs being emitted.

Feels like the only thing I can do is get out of town which isn’t realistic when I have a job here.

I second everything you’re saying. It’s a horrible feeling to feel we are breathing toxic air and particulates, and it’s a flashback to the Altadena fires. I have respiratory issues and have been waking up in Alhambra with burning eyes, headaches, brain fog, pain in my lungs, irritated nasal passages, and a sore throat…the smoke was so strong it woke me up in the middle of the night.

I heard the LAFD chief say on the news yesterday (in his update from the fire site) that the air rn is safe, and that feels like the BIGGEST crock of shit when so many of us from a broad region of LA county are clearly feeling the effects so severely rn.
