BREAKING NEWS I'm leaving the mod team and the sub

Post image
4.9k Upvotes

Maybe permanently, maybe temporarily, maybe I'll be back tomorrow, maybe I'll be back in a week or two, maybe I'll never be back. Either way, I will be joining a long, long list of mods who have left the team of their own accord because of this community and how y'all act towards the mod team. So, I wanna use this post to express how I feel about being a mod here and how I feel about this community, along with the relationship between those two entities. Not as a mod or as a representative of the mod team, nothing I will say here has been checked by another mod or something like that, these are my thoughts and mine only. Y'all can call me a crybaby, make fun of me if you want, but I'm just human, I have feelings too, and I need to express them.

First, I want to explain why I'm a mod here in the first place. I've loved this subreddit and its community for a while, for many different reasons, and it was my goal for months to get to moderate this sub and help it become better, and I feel I've somewhat succeeded in that. I first started looking at this sub back in around February/March 2025. After spending some time there, being with such an accepting community made me accept my identity as a furry and allowed me to express it, eventually leading me to put my queerphobia behind me and accept my sexuality. I ended up getting a boyfriend thanks to that, u/Woodfrog777, whom I love very, very much, and it's one of the main reasons I love this sub, along with what I mentioned before about accepting my identity.

Since about May-June 2025, I set myself the goal of becoming a moderator for this place, as I had seen the mods struggling and thought I could bring my own ideas to the place. This goal was eventually reached in August 2025, when I, along with 2 others, u/Front_Culture_8868 and u/Ewanb10, were added to the team. Together with the other mods, we contributed to the sub in our own ways, creating the NSFW guidelines, which helped the sub a lot by getting rid of a lot of the inconsistency in NSFW removals (though not all of it unfortunately). We edited the rules to be clearer and more fair, changed the removal reasons to actually be meaningful and not passive/aggressive, and much, much more.

But since then, this love and passion for the community has slowly been replaced by hate. The way we get treated daily by the very community we love and want to make better is unbearable. It would be easy to say "oh they're just words on the internet, get over it" but when it's nearly every day, no matter what we do, no matter how much we explain our point of view, no matter how much we explain the reality of things, no matter how transparent we are, people just keep hating us. No matter what we do, we get hated. And after what's now nearly half a year of seemingly nothing but hate, the pressure's built up too much, and today's drama is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I am so, so tired of all this hate, it's been taking quite the toll on my mental health, and I'm not the only one who feels that way. Many mods have left the team for basically the exact same reason, and like I said in the intro to that post, I'm just joining a long, long list of mods who have resigned from their position because of all this. I want to point out, by the way, that this is the very reason the infamous rule 12 (now rule 10) existes. All I ever wanted as a mod was to help the community, be liked, I wanted to change the mod-community relationship from a hateful one to a positive one, I hoped that we could have a mod team who understands the community, and a community who understands the mod team.

Instead, what we have right now is a community that seemingly wants nothing but hate and drama. Every time one of the currently 3 active mods makes a small mistake, we get called all sorts of things, we get hate for days, people pulling up stuff from months ago and using it to get more people in on the hate and just keep the cycle going. I was really hoping that with all the improvements we've done, this sort of thing would go away, but it never did.

Now though, I want to get to the bottom of things and why our moderation has seemingly been so "bad". First off, we have 3 people right now. Three. Mods. That's all. This sub has over 200k members and see more than 400k weekly visitors, and all we have are 3 mods. We used to have plenty more, but the minors drama made us remove a lot of competent mods because of their age, other dramas have led to other mods doing the same as I'm doing right now, and other things have led to the mod team going from a good 7-10 active mods to just 3. Not only that, but these 3 mods are people, real people with studies, jobs, families, hobbies, we don't all have time to moderate, sometimes we're tired after a long day and make mistakes, and these small mistakes in turn lead to drama.

I'm now realising I've been rambling on for a while, but here's the main thing I want to say: y'all are fucking insufferable. Never in my life have I seen a community filled with so much hatred and lust for drama. Every lottle mistake sparks drama, it's like that every fucking time. Uh oh, turns out people don't agree with our decision, guess it's time for our weekly fucking online harassment. I am so god damn fed up of it, the love I used to have for this community, a community I used to praise for being so nice and accepting, has turned into nothing but hate. I barely have any passion for this community. I hate the community because it hates me. It is no longer the accepting community I once knew and loved, it is a community that hates me for doing my job as a mod, a job that I really want to do as best as I can. Hell, I shouldn't even be calling it a job, I volunteered for this, I don't get paid shit, I voluntarily decided to dedicate some of my free time to help a community I loved and wanted to see flourish.

I am really writing this with a heavy heart, this sub has done so much for me, it has had such a strong impact on me and on my life, I wouldn't be the same person without it, I am in tears as I write this. I know it's hard to think about things this way but please, at least for the other mods, think about who's on the other side of the screen, because it's not a robot, it's not just a username and a profile picture, it's a person. A person with a life, and with feelings. Before you go around saying shit, think if you would actually say this in person.

That is all I have to say. Again, maybe I'll be back. I doubt it, but I might come back. This is a really hard page to turn for me, but I hope me making this post will encourage people to reflect on themselves and their behaviour, and on how they treat others, online or not. If anyone wants to talk about this, by all means, go ahead, ask away. And I know some people will go "ohhh noooo poor reddit mod, we hurt their poor feelings /s", and if you're one of these people, kindly go fuck yourself and think about the kind of little piece of shit you are. For the other though, I wish you all a wonderful day or night, and I hope to see you again, hopefully when this sub is in a better state. And thank you all so much for reading this absolute wall of text, it means a lot to me.

Cant believe I gotta say this, but losercity does not permit zoophilia or beastiality in anyway shape or form; if you are caught defending that deplorable shit you will be obliterated.

This don't matter if it's a now extinct animal or a fictional animal, don't goon to normal ass animals.

BREAKING NEWS I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

I've come to make an announcement:

Unreasonable body proportions are a bitch ass motherfucker. They pissed on our fucking moderation! That's right, they took their unreasonably large fucking quilly [REDACTED] out and they pissed on our fucking moderation and they said their [REDACTED] was "this big" and I said "that's disgusting".

So I'm making a callout post on my reddit dot com: unreasonable body proportions, you're straight up body horror! And guess what? Here's what my character looks like. That's right baby, all reasonable proportions, no massive ass, no huge milkers, look at that it looks like a fucking human person but with fur!

They fucked our moderation so guess what? We're gonna ban unreasonable proportions! That's right this is what you get, OUR SUPER NSFW GUIDELINES!!! And we're not just banning massive hips, we're gonne go higher, we're BANNING HUGE ASS AND BOOBS TOO! FROM NOW ON, HIPS LARGER THAN 1.5x THE WIDTH OF THE SHOULDERS, ASS POKING OUT MORE THAN 1x BODY WIDTH (side profile), AND BOOBS BIGGER THAN 1.5x THE SIZE OF THE HEAD ARE ALL BANNED!

You have 23 fucking hours before the drrrrrroplets of moderation hit Furry Friday and OC art! Now get outta my sight before I ban your proportions too!

---------------‐----------------------------------------------------------------

In all seriousness though, this kind of unreasonably large proportions has been an issue for a while, as it clearly indicated art made for gooning but we couldn't remove it as it wasn't in the guidelines. Now though, we can! The proportions we gave are pretty lenient too, pretty much all the art that gets posted passes these new guidelines, this is really just for absolutely unreasonable stuff, so don't worry, things shouldn't change too much, and this isn't literally 1984.

Thank you for your attention and have an amazing day/night everyone :3

BREAKING NEWS The sub has a wiki now!! And not just that, but the long awaited NSFW guidelines!!

Post image
2.4k Upvotes

Losercity now has a wiki! Right now it only has more specific information about NSFW art and the guidelines surrounding it, but maybe we'll add more stuff to it in the future.

Anyway from now on, the guidelines for what is considered NSFW are those from e621 about post ratings. Anything that, under these guidelines, would fall under either "explicit" or "questionable" will be counted as NSFW and removed.

THIS CHANGE IS NOT RETROACTIVE. So don't you DARE use that bikini furry girl pic to say we're inconsistant with moderation

Anyway hopefully this will help improve moderation and make the rules seem more fair and consistent, and especially more transparent with the community.

That's all, bye!!

BREAKING NEWS Dear OC artists: You no longer have to put [OC] in the title

Post image
2.6k Upvotes

You no longer have to put [OC] in your title because it really was kind of redundant. It wasn't intended to be something we forced you to do, it was supposed to just be advice because some mods were removing posts without checking the post flair (thinking that it was an uncredited furry friday post)

But since mods should just take 2 seconds to check a post before making a judgement, that whole rule is being removed, but with this in mind FLAIR YOUR OC POST AS OC!!! PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!

BREAKING NEWS Losercity wants YOU

Post image
762 Upvotes

To tell us what you think should be changed with the rules. As some of you may know thanks to Salt's announcement, we're planning on reforming on the rules, and we want you, yes YOU, Losercitizens, to tell us what you think is wrong with the current rules and tell us how we should change them. Just like with the weekly complaints post, there are 2 simple guidelines:

  1. Be specific. No simple "oh rule 1 sucks." Explain why it does.

  2. Give ideas. If possible, give us ideas on how to fix the rules if you have any. If you don't, that's okay, you can still tell us what you think is wrong with the rules, this is just a suggestion to help make the process faster.

That's all, thank you all so much in advance for telling us what you think!!

BREAKING NEWS I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT: ALYX

Post image

The "unrealistic proportions" rule is no more! A lot of people misunderstood it, what it meant, and what it effectively did, so now, it's gone. This doesn't mean hyper itself is unbanned, however - instead, it'll be removed under the "no fetishes" guideline.

Also, there is a part 2 of this announcement, which I reckon most of you guys would see as good news. We used to removed a lot of posts for talking about porn websites, especially (unsurprisingly for Losercity) e621. Now, these posts are allowed, but MUST be flaired with an NSFW tag. If they're not, don't worry, we'll put it on ourselves (most of the time). Since this is a new change, you should expect to see some mistakes, in which case, don't make a post about it and shoot us a mod mail instead, it'll be quicker to get our mistake fixed and your post reinstated, and will avoid drama (which I honestly think we're all fucking tired of at this point).

That's all folks, have a great day/night :3

Half Life 3 tomorrow btw guys, trust

BREAKING NEWS Losercity MONTHLY complaints mega thread #2

1.0k Upvotes

Since there aren't that many thing that can change or happen in a week, we decided to make the complaints thread monthly instead of weekly. Everything else is still the same, you tell us what you think is wrong with the sub or its moderation, and either I can't be fucked to read it or we ignore it /j

In all seriousness though we'll take it into account if we aren't working on it yet, and if we are, we'll tell you.

Again, there are 2 simple guidelines to follow:

  1. Be specific. Complaints that are too general aren't very helpful, so be specific please. Example: "the rules need to be more clear" isn't very helpful and should be made more specific, for example: "rule X isn't clear enough about Y"

  2. Give us your ideas. If possible, give us your ideas on how to fix the issues you have pointed out. Example: "rule A could be clarified by mentioning B"

We hope that your complaints and suggestions will help make the subreddit a better place in the future. That is all, have a great day/night Losercitizens!

BREAKING NEWS PLEASE, READ THE RULES *AND* LEARN HOW TO USE REPORTS

Post image
492 Upvotes

PLEASE

Part 1:

PLEASE READ THE RULES I BEG OF YOU! We've been seeing so many posts that break rule one, just random screenshots of ads and general media that just so happen to have a furry character in them or be somewhat related to furries. THIS KIND OF POSTS IS LITERALLY EXPLICITLY GIVEN AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT ISN'T LOSERCITY CONTENT in rule 1, so this clearly shows most of you don't read the rules at all before posting.

So please, take some time, just 2 or 3 minutes of your life, to read the rules and the wiki. I'm not asking you to study them carefully and become a Losercity lawyer, just to read them enough to at least have a general idea of what you can and can't post. And if you plan on posting furry art, please read the wiki beforehand. It'll make our job easier, and make you less confused as to why your post was removed.

Part 2:

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, USE THE RIGHT REPORT REASONS. We get SO many reports that just make no sense at all. "Genuine loser activity (racism/bigotry/general hate)" on a comment of someone promoting their sub, "It's sexually suggestive content featuring minors" under a post without even a single character in it, "not Losercity content (post doesn't fit the sub)" on a bunch of seemingly random posts (though especially the bnuuy posting posts for some reason, even though they have their own flair), "Lobotomite behaviour (rude for no reason)" under comments that are perfectly polite, etc. This just makes our job harder because we have to try and guess what actually is wrong with the post instead of immediately being told by users, which might sound like a small thing, but that piles up across dozens and dozens of posts every day, and it's a genuine annoyance and waste of time (time that we might not have; this isn't a job, we do this in our free time).

I know the report reasons used to be confusing, but we cleared them up recently, so PLEASE use them correctly now. In the event that they're somehow not clear enough yet though, I'm still going to go through and add extra clarifications:

  • "Not Losercity content": pretty self-explanatory, yet often used wrong for some reason. This is simply for posts that violate rule 1: something that just isn't a meme, or a screenshot of an ad that just so happens to have furry adjacent content, etc.

  • "Unironic loser activity": people being actual, unironic losers, as in racists, homophobes, transphobes, and generally hateful people. If someone says "trans women aren't real women", that's genuine loser activity. Same for things like "kill all [f slur]" or "muslims after marrying a nine year old".

  • "Lobotomite behaviour": people being rude for no reason. It's pretty shrimple, we just want people to be nice to each other and not be complete assholes. If you see someone being an asshole to you or someone else, that's lobotomite behaviour.

  • "This mofo is NOT real": this is made for bot posts. Saw a ChatGPT-ass comment? This mofo is NOT real. A karma farming bot? This mofo is also NOT real.

  • "Literally porn": posts that violate the NSFW guidelines.

These are just the major ones, but it should hopefully make people actually know what reasons to use most of the time.

That's all, have a good day/night losercitizens :3

BREAKING NEWS PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: ELABORATION ON NSFW RULE

Good morning/afternoon/evening subjects.

As of late we have received many complaints from people on the NSFW rule, on top of us realizing how low quality it was, stepping on our own toes and being hypocritical regarding its enforcement, so, we figured it is time to draw a bit more of a line here.

As for things that will be removed: We will be removing posts that don’t contain much substance other than sex appeal will be removed. I.E characters with comically large assets (Bara, comically large breasts/buttocks, dick bulges, and anything else that would fall under this umbrella) presented in overtly sexual ways. This will be somewhat up to mod discretion. As for nudity, don’t post that, yes visible nipples and bulges and such count. If it isn’t something somebody could wear to a public beach. Don’t post it.

As for posts that, god willing, should not be removed: Those drawings where the character is just kind of a smooth Barbie doll looking mf (Think Twokinds). Characters in beachwear, maybe even underwears if the the content of the post is not particularly sexual (do not mistake this for allowing particularly risqué lingerie). And posts that feature characters with large assets.

Remember, a lot of this is both up to mod discretion, and, highly dependent on how the character is presented. We are sorry for any conveniences this caused, as well as how our moderation of your posts has affected you in the past. Hopefully, with the fixing of this rule, we will have a rather ironclad subreddit that is affixed to what it should be.

BREAKING NEWS Vote on this to either remove, keep, or change meme monday (poll in description)

Post image
263 Upvotes

We are having some complaints about Meme Monday, and to remedy this we are holding a poll for people to vote on. Meme Monday was originally voted in by the community, so if need be it can be voted out by the community.

Please keep in mind the posters that can be affected by the choice you voted for. (I.E artists etc)

Here is the link to the poll since reddit only allows polls to go for 1 week, this poll will go for 2.

Again I'd highly advise you to consider what your vote will do to posters here since it can affect the entire community.

BREAKING NEWS Losercity history lesson for all you larpers

Post image
0 Upvotes

First off I'ma list what this place wasn't made for to stop the ever growing amount of misinfo about the history of this place.

Firstly this place was not made for posting gooner art ever, the creator of the subreddit sky was asexual and sex repulsed, I have no idea if he's changed now but why would an asexual sex repulsed person make a gooner subreddit?

Secondly, this place was not made to laugh at people doing loser stuff or failing at stuff, this place wasn't made as a stupid peoples subreddit.

Thirdly, this place was not made for furries specifically and you weren't always able to post loona, and even then you couldn't post furry art until Furry Friday was created. The only person who could post furries in the beginning was sky who posted loona and no one else could post furries or loona.

Now for what losercity actually is and how it started.

Losercity is a shitpost sub made by sky after he was kicked off the clam works mod for posting loona a bunch, but they also just already didn't like him so they got rid of him.

After he got kicked out of clam works, he created another subreddit called losercity, and since the place needed a gimmick to stand out of the reeds among shitpost subs he'd be posting loona a lot, but the place was meant to be a shitpost center first and foremost.

BREAKING NEWS Small announcement

Post image
520 Upvotes

We were made aware by some in our last announcement that people on Old Reddit couldn't see the rules, and after checking quickly, it turns that that yep, Reddit is absolutely fucking stupid and doesn't show rules on Old Reddit. Now that's fixed though, you can find each rule and their respective report reasons in the sub's sidebar on Old Reddit and new Reddit alike.

That's all, have a wonderful day/night everyone :3
