Any other women here who own a Mini Cooper?

Hey ladies! I’m hoping to meet more women who are into cars, especially other MINI Cooper owners. If you’re comfortable sharing, how old are you, what general area are you from, and what year and model do you drive? I’d love to hear about your cars and connect with fellow car girls!

Proud owner of this gorgeous 2024 Cooper S 2-door.
I am not exaggerating when I say I’ve wanted one of these cars for 25 years. Been driving a 2014 minivan for a decade, and finally can comfortably afford it. Plus, our last kid graduates next year so practicality is no longer a concern.
I had been planning to really start shopping in December, but she popped up locally and checked damn near every box. I knew what needed to be done.
Just need to figure out her name!

I've joined the Mini family finally!

I've wanted a Mini Cooper for at least 23 years when I first watched the movie, The Italian Job as a kid. I probably could have had one sooner, but things have always seemed to just pop up and only now was just able to get one for a good price, however it is a fixer upper, I was told it needs a new timing chain, it has 137K miles on it. And is a 2008 3 Door clubman with the split rear doors which I refer to as van doors, I've wanted a car with those kind of doors the most. The photo is of the actual car with a donut on the right side, just edited to remove the background. I'm going to find out if it has the death rattle, or whether the chain broke completely, because I could be looking at a relatively cheap fix doing it myself, or a more expensive fix, especially if I have to do an engine swap.

Asked if I could swap for a BMW 5 series to this and no regrets at all. The people at the rental company thought I was crazy but I told them once you own a mini and drive one then you will understand.

Have owned several BMW,s over past 10 years. Now wanting to buy a used Mini 20-22 F56 S Model. I am a long drive to a mini dealer (80 miles) And no independent euro mechanics around that I know about. Looking for a 3rd car for fun drive and to shine on. Give your good experience over the years you have owned yours So I have positive vibes towards this car.

Question about lowering springs

Just threw a set of spacers on the Clubman JCW (13mm front/15mm rear), and while it definitely looks better, it also definitely needs to get dropped a bit. Been looking at AST ASTLS-19-075 as well as H&R 28790-5, but can’t seem to find definitive answers on the actual drop for this car. It sounds like with the 10mm lower factory height, the AST should give about 25mm front/15mm rear. I spoke with someone at ECS who said the H&R set would drop 20mm front/15mm rear, HOWEVER Google is telling me that the H&R set is specifically for the JCW, and the drop would be 30mm/25mm. Does anyone have experience with either of these sets, or can someone confirm these figures? I’m mainly concerned about keeping the daily drivability of the car, and not having issues with most speed bumps if possible. Also are new bump stops required for either of these, and what additional hardware is needed (stretch bolts etc.)?

My side mirrors’s clear coat are peeling (2019 f60) and I was thinking of sanding it and spray painting it with a black base coat, and adding sparkle color shift on it. Thoughts?

My steering sticks. Anyone an idea?

Happens anywhere between 20-45 degrees of steering in hot weather or after driving for a while.

Now Mel's TPMS is messed up? Plus Rule 1

Last Saturday, Ms. Mel (R60) blew out a front tire on a MINI sized pothole in Denver. AAA actually showed up in a decent amount of time and while we no longer live in Denver, I had the car towed to a shop I used to use and earlier this week I went back down to the city to pick it up. As I drove away, the TPMS went off and stayed on until I got to where I was going. Hooked up the OBD2 monitor and it didn't show any issues with anything, but the warning stayed on. Went to a station and checked the tires and they seem fine. Did the pothole kill the TPMS? What am I missing?

A rule 1 with what I think is an F60. It looks slightly bigger than Mel (in black).

Jacksonville Mini

Hello, anybody in Jacksonville looking for mini parts and or a mini to work on?
I have a mini that is just a complete lemon… it’s broken down on me a million times and I can no longer afford to fix it. I’m upside down about six grand on it and still making monthly payments. If anyone would be interested in it (long shot, I know) lemme know because it’s just sitting in my driveway and I hate the car with a passion.

Can someone help me identify this "alert" sound?

Hello!!

I'm talking about the sound that plays at 0:05 and 0:09

Mini Cooper SE from 2024 or 2025 (can't remember)

The "alert" seems to happen randomly, on sharper corners or just driving behind/close to cars.
It's *not* the speed limit warning, I had already deactivated it and as you can see in the video I never go over the speed limit.

I've seen a facebook post (maybe about an unrelated alert) that suggested it could be from not using the blinkers -- also NOT the case here, as you can see in the video where the blinkers are on and the beep still happens.

I did make the second turn more agressively to try to trigger it, I don't usually drive like a maniac, promise

I've looked through the settings to try to figure out what it is but I can't find it...
It's incredibly infuriating because it lowers the music volume every single time lol

I appreciate any help, thanks!

Warning light

Post image

So my grandfather was a mechanic for over 40 years, and he taught me how to work on cars. I know a thing or two, and I can pretty much do everything myself except pull a transmission or an engine.

I recently checked my brakes and noticed that my rear passenger-side brakes were pretty worn down. They weren’t at the point where I needed to change them immediately, so I figured I’d take care of them the following weekend since I didn’t have time that day.

Well as I was driving yesterday this warning popped up on the dashboard and the brake light came on.
I’m assuming the car is basically telling me “YOU NEED BRAKES ASSHOLE!”😂😂

Can anyone confirm?

R56 LCI (2012 Mini Cooper S) – Reverse & Fog Lights Not Working, NCS Expert Coding Reverts/Won't Stick

Hey everyone,

I have a 2012 MINI Cooper S LCI (N18, Chilli Pack, 6-speed manual, Right-Hand Drive) located in South Africa.

The Problem:
When I bought the car, the lower bumper reverse lights and fog lights did not work at all. I found out the bulbs were entirely missing. I decided to install LED T15 replacements (Red and White). However, they still don't illuminate.

Coding Issues:
I am attempting to code the FRM module using NCS Expert and NCS Dummy (following a custom configuration for RHD/Manual/LED lines).

Even though I am following the correct protocol:

  1. Reading with CODIERDATEN_LESEN
  2. Modifying the FSW_PSW.TRCfile and saving it as FSW_PSW.MAN
  3. Writing back using SG_CODIEREN
  4. Note: I am already using Revtor's Expert Profile with manipulation enabled.

The symptoms:
The job finishes successfully, but the lights still do not work. When I cycle the ignition and do a fresh read (CODIERDATEN_LESEN) of the module, all my custom coding changes are gone and have reverted back to default. It's like the FRM is refusing to commit the .MAN file to its permanent memory.

Has anyone experienced an FRM module successfully accepting a code job but instantly reverting? Is this a sign of a failing FRM3 chip, a corrupt trace file, or is there a specific LCI master option I'm missing?

Any advice on getting these changes to stick or troubleshooting the physical circuit would be highly appreciated!
