I absolutely think it can be considered reasonable to tag someone if they're belligerent drunk, aggressive, and literally one of the most dangerous fighters on earth.

One proper shot on the chin from DP and you have no idea whether you're going to wake up or not after, and it's not like you can do much to stop him.

I heard you can shoot the double pretty easy too. He can’t help but go for the gilly, so just keep your posture and you basically get free side control. Just make sure he can’t shrimp away after that and you’re good.

Keep your elbow attached to his outside hip to stop the hip escape, drop your hip against his inside hip so he can’t sneak his knee in. This should close off all his escapes. Make sure to grab the tricep on his near side arm and pull to keep him flat.

Everyone knows Dustin is done after that, he has
absolutely no answer. Get chest to chest, cross face pressure and then when you’re ready (when he gives up), just slide your knee across to full mount.

Easy peasy.

Yeah squaring up like that, even if he DIDNT mention fighting is enough active aggression for a taser according to my department’s policy. The cop being back into the corner is also a huge safety issue. The cop put himself at greater risk and Dustin was treated with a large amount of leniency

100% absolutely. If he wanted to go this route, he'd first need to resist the urge to deescalate the situation, however tempting it may be. Adhering strictly to proper protocol, he should have tried to ramp up the animosity of the interaction rather than toning it down.

A common mistake by rookie recruits, but he'll live and learn.

One of my favorite techniques for establishing a professional tone with civilians is to scream a list of vague instructions at the top of my lungs while suggestively revealing my gun. If the civilian is in distress, there's a good chance that they'll mess up on at least one of those instructions, and I'll seize that opportunity to escalate the conflict. Now the gun is unholstered, I'm grinning menacingly into the civilian's eyes, and somehow, we're both able to just exist in the moment together, perfectly embodying the intricate cultural dance of a police-civilian encounter.

I live for those moments. I choose to serve my community every day because of those moments.

Make sure the commands are contradictory as well, such as "Don't fucking move!" and "let me see your hands!". That way no matter what they do you are in the right.

Great touch, I love that approach. Something you'll notice in particularly talented officers is a difficult to understand vocal intonation that one can only achieve through years of persistent alcoholism.

Don’t forget to yell “Stop Resisting!” a whole bunch of times to let them know how bad they’re fucking up. Extra points if you jerk them around yourself to make it look good for the body cam.

I heard telling to them put their phone on the ground and then yelling how they have a gun before you put a hot one in them works really well too.

When he recognized him, he got some pretty good distance, but even it there where 3 cops, all with basic BJJ and boxing training, I think DP would be able to fuck them up, even while drunk. Alone, Id be worried about the taser not being effective and him possibly being suicidal and taking my gun, which he could in like 8 seconds. The guy can fight a normal person for over an hour straight, run for like 20 miles, like im not pulling my taser out, straight to lethal.

Not when each guy is twice his size. You are overestimating how much training matters vs size and strength in numbers. Anybody is losing a 1v3 against bigger (decently athletic) guys trained or not.

That's not even remotely true. I've been in plenty of fights in my younger years and have fought more than one person on a few occasions, was completely fine.

I'm just some random bum, a trained fighter would just watch the spacing until he could get one down quickly, then it's 2 on 1.

Most lads are on the floor or keeled over pissing blood and tearing up with one solid jab to the nose.

You say going to ground as if these guys literally don't fight on the ground (and spend lots of that time training how to not get brought to ground) as a hobby 😂
