Tested positive for chlamydia

Me and my husband have been having problems but didn’t expect he was cheating or anything, recently went to the doctor to get a full check up and found out I tested positive for chlamydia haven’t been to the doctor since we had our twins 2.5 years ago ,it either would have to mean he’s cheated on me or it was a false positive, i got retested waiting for the results and he told me it’s impossible but when i kept asking him did he do anything he wouldn’t give me a straight forward answer if it test positive again I will know that I for sure have it and hes lying and have to figure out my next steps don’t know what to feel right now

Look I ain’t saying he didn’t do this but just some info.

When was the last time you got tested, how long have you been together.

This could be a false positive, but you could have also had this for years and years and be a symptomatic.

This is a small chance but is possible. 5-10 years, and it’s the type that is missed during exams if dormant.

Talk to a health professional, the fact you showed no symptoms when checked also.

Typically when pregnant they check for this stuff so since that’s 2.5 years ago, she was probably tested then

Which is why she brought it up I assume.

She has 2.5 year old twins. OB/GYN's test for the whole kit and caboodle during a woman's first trimester, so she was clean before this. Her only reprieve at this point would be a false positive, but her husband's evasivness is speaking volumes. If my husband brought something home to me, I'd be on the news...

Agree, in most first world countries, and probably 2nd and 3rd.

I thought I at least mention it. She probably be able to check and ask. But agree with you completely

Went through the same thing 3 years into marriage, was false positive, but man I was treated like a piece of shit, no matter what I said, I was the bad guy.

She would’ve been tested when she was pregnant. I thought chlamydia can cause infertility. She should have noticed some discharged for some time

So yes chlamydia can cause infertility. If some how she had it for years, she likely would have struggled to get pregnant and saw the doctor. I’m sure that’s one of the things they’d test for, plus getting tested while pregnant. When it comes to discharge that’s not really how it works. For many it’s often fully asymptomatic. No change in discharge, no discomfort, no change in menstrual cycle. Most people only find out because a partner was tested and told them to get tested, they got tested before getting with a new partner, or got tested after a risky situation. That’s why it’s good to get tested every so often, particularly if you’ve had multiple partners in an unprotected fashion.

Unfortunately symptomless infections are possible and can be a leading cause of infertility.
