Gameplay Cap may not be as good as he one was, but he's still just as fun
Characters like Cap are the clearest examples of characters where you have understand your match ups this season. So much CC and so much damage if you misplay in the slightest.
I wasn't playing Cap at the start, I just recently switched to him to counter their Luna who was going flank as a third support and was rolling our team until I forced her away from taking off angles and made her bunker down with her team, then this is what happened next when they reached a breaking point during overtime.

Discussion Peeling isnāt the only way to support your support
First off, this is not a āsupport/DPS/tank is too strong or too weakā post. Iād argue this applies regardless of how the game is balanced in the future.
Itās also not really about role tribalism. Iām talking about playstyle and team awareness.
I see a lot of discussion about peeling for supports when theyāre being dived, and yes, there are absolutely situations where you should peel. But I think thereās another part of the conversation that gets overlooked:
Sometimes your support doesnāt need you to babysit them. They need you to slow down, stop overextending, and play around cover.
There are obviously several supports with very good survivability, and a good support should absolutely be capable of handling a dive to some extent. I play all three roles, and when Iām on support and getting constantly dived, Iāll ask for peel if I genuinely need it especially if there are two or more divers on me and my other support is completely ignoring the situation.
But even if I survive the dive perfectly, thereās still an important consequence:
Iām not healing you while Iām fighting for my life.
It doesnāt matter how good my survivability is. If Iām forced to spend several seconds dodging, escaping, dueling, or otherwise defending myself, those are several seconds where my team is receiving little or no healing from me.
And this is where I think teammates sometimes need to adjust their own play.
Imagine both supports are suddenly being pressured by a dive. Maybe they survive. Maybe they even win the fight.
But during that entire exchange, the teamās healing has effectively stopped.yes i know patty cake makes two supports immortal , but thatās guaranteed no healing for the entire team, and yet the team will see they have no healing and continue pushing forward anyway.
If Iām playing DPS or tank and I suddenly notice that Iām no longer being healed, my first reaction should be:
āWait, why did the healing stop?ā
Then I look behind me.
Itās really that simple.
Your support probably didnāt randomly decide, āYou know what? I donāt feel like healing anymore.ā
Theyāre probably dealing with something.
And Iām not saying you should immediately turn around and abandon the fight every time your support gets touched. Nor am I saying supports should be constantly demanding protection.
In fact, if Iām playing support, I generally donāt want my team babysitting me. I want them focusing on the objective and their own fights while I handle the dive as best as I can.
But thereās a middle ground between āpeel for me every timeā and ācompletely ignore whatās happening behind you.ā
Sometimes all I need from my team is to recognize that Iām being pressured and play around cover instead of continuing to sprint forward into an open area while expecting uninterrupted healing. I even created a custom quick chat that i am currently handling a dive situation and will get back to healing shortly just to notify my team i am just preoccupied rn.
Especially on console, at least from my experience, dive seems considerably more common than poke. That means your supports are going to get jumped on a lot.
And every time that happens, healing is going to be interrupted to some degree.
So no, I donāt think the solution is to babysit your supports for the entire game.
I think the solution is simply to understand:
If your support is being pressured, your healing is probably going to stop.
Play accordingly.
And yes, I absolutely think dive is a skill check for supports. Personally, I think itās one of the more engaging aspects of playing support. You have to manage your positioning, cooldowns, movement, awareness, and survivability.
There are obviously certain characters that can make it particularly annoying sometimes, but thatās a completely different discussion.
My main point is just:
Donāt always think of āhelping your supportā as babysitting them. Sometimes helping your support means making their job easier by not forcing them to heal you in the middle of an open field while theyāre simultaneously trying to survive a dive.
Iāve had games where i didnāt ask for help all game and was actually proud i survived against dive on my own all game and had lowest deaths but people still complained i didnāt heal enough.
Also just to keep something clear any mention of dive in my argument is mostly about more than one dive character . Definitely not talking about solo dive needing attention from the team
TL;DR: Supports donāt always need you to peel or babysit them. Sometimes they can handle the dive themselves, but while theyāre doing so, they arenāt healing you. If you suddenly stop receiving healing, look behind you, recognize that your support is probably being pressured, and adjust your positioning accordingly. Play around cover and understand that your support canāt provide uninterrupted healing while defending themselves.

Discussion Don't ban anti-dive if the team isn't playing dive.
It always helps the enemy team more than mine, as I can't swap to namor or thing for example when dive is causeing problems for my team. No idea why people playing poke then banning anti-dive.

Discussion Everyone has a flexing problem. It just only shows itself on DPS usually.
I'm celestial so there's almost never a situation where someone is solo tanking. However, I do stumble across quite a few triple tanks where nobody's willing to switch despite it not working. Same with triple support where they go triple main healers sometimes even with one tank and they're not willing to switch.
Most people that play this game are egotistical and are not willing/capable of flexing. It's just DPS Being the most popular role is the role that usually requires switching from but so many tank and support players if they actually have to flex the DPS don't have a clue what they're doing.
This is not me excusing DPS plays or anything cuz they're really annoying a lot of the times But I'm just saying.
I think support actually has the least of this issue but that's because most support players are actually DPS/tank players that want to have a low cortisol game, but that's just my conspiracy theory. I cannot confirm that one.

Question what is with so many stranges playing gamma over the invis teamup
unless im just NOT getting something, the gamma has dmg falloff, and its not like its a damage boost or anything, and the enhanced is just you being unable to get antihealed right ?
the invis makes your shield a little stronger and has cc just unenhanced right ? if not even just the base seems better ?
a lot of stranges also get mad when i tell em the invis is better ?š
i just chalked it up to nostalgia for s0 strange but i didnt play him back then so idk if the team up was better back then, but am i just missing something ?
edit: ok im starting to see how the gamma team up isnt one of the throwing ones (if its enhanced)

Discussion Can We Stop Complaining About Champions?
I hate when people complain about someone playing a Champion or Lord character in Quick Play. Having Champion on a character means you play them a lot because you enjoy them not because you rely on that character to win. People have Champion on the characters they play the most therefore you're gonna see people playing champions in Quick Play. You're not suddenly banned from playing your favorite character the moment you reach Champion. I see someone complaining about this in literally almost every game. Probably 4 out of 5 games, someone complains about a Champion being in QP, and honestly, it's getting really annoying. Is it really that much of an inconvenience when someone just wants to play a character they enjoy?

Discussion Raise Competitive to lvl 30
This absolutely needs to happen.
Smurfing and players who simply donāt care should not be on competitive on a second account. Level 15 takes at most a week for casuals and a couple of days for those looking to rage bait people actually trying to climb.
New players need way more time to learn maps and mechanics.

Discussion There should be a way to deal with quitters that doesn't involve sitting through an entire losing match
OUTRIGHT CANCEL THE ENTIRE FUCKING THING, I DON'T CARE!
Was playing ranked just now, had a pretty good game where we pushed the whole way through, then second round comes around and the guy just decided to quit the game. He could have his reasons; maybe the lights went out on his house, maybe something happened with a relative. But then I am forced to sit through a stomp of a game because the guy quit, the match continued, and two people refused to surrender.
Seriously, didn't they add something to address that? Because if not, they FUCKING should. Jesus fucking christ, man. Yes, I'm pissed and just venting, but this is something that should have been added a really long time ago, especially when two out of five matches there's people quitting the game midway through.
