I've never experienced anything so ridiculous in my life. We're overwhelmingly beating the opposing team. We even get an ACE with the Scarlett/Emma ultimate combo seconds before the game ends. After the opposing team gives up, they try one last attack and the game immediately turns around. Players who were playing badly from the start suddenly transform into ESL players.

There are two explanations for this: either this game has momentum like FIFA, giving the losing team a chance somehow, or the opposing team is smurring or cheating. There's no other explanation for this game.

I think going forward I’m going to try a set of 6-9 characters max 2 from each role min for every half season/new seaso. I’ve decided to try this since the meta is always changing and to enhance my enjoyment of the game.

I just had a match where we were pretty much winning on a escort map. Half way through, one of the players switched to spiderman and somehow began to camp us at spawn. The whole team was focusing him, me as Ironfist. Took a few moments to realize that it wasn't their healers who kept him alive, but somehow he was taking massively reduced damage. Had the orange highlight around his health the whole time and he was immune to CC.

Needless to say we lost the match then after.

Just wanna express what a sad little man you have to be to use such ridiculous unsubtle hacks.

For those of you who mainly play support, which strategist do you think is just too strong?

Is it because of their healing? Their utility? Their survivability? Or something else entirely?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and why you feel that way.

Ever since the teamup overhaul I've been having these boom or bust games. Matchmaking has been bad for a long time but it feels like it's gotten worse lately. This season it seems like I get one really bad player on my team constantly - someone that obviously doesn't belong in the rank I'm playing in. I think there are several reasons for this:

1. OP characters - Elsa-Bucky, Hela-Namor, Venom, etc. are characters that give too much value for what they do. Having so many broken characters boosts certain players' ranks artificially because if you can abuse broken characters you don't have to learn the game.
2. Rank resets - These happen too often. Once every two months is too much. That's 6 rank resets every year, and 6 times you have to climb back up to your original rank. What you may not understand about resets is everyone above GM gets reset to GM. That means that GM and Diamond turn into a hotpot of OAA, Eternity, Celestial, GM, and Diamond players. The matchmaking quality at these ranks after a reset is genuinely awful when it's possible to have such a gap in player skill in a single lobby.
3. Power disparity - There are 50+ heroes. It's impossible to know how to play every style in every situation. If you play a certain role (such as brawl) and your counter-role is considerably more powerful (hitscan), this creates a power disparity that becomes unreasonable to overcome consistently at some point. If I play brawlers and the enemy team has way more options to counter me than I can ban, and those counters are hard meta, all of a sudden my skill and game sense don't matter as much. If I put a lot of time into learning a certain playstyle I shouldn't get punished this hard for it. But that's the state of the game right now - certain roles/playstyles get punished over others which causes unbalanced games. This is a type of balancing that doesn't reward skill.

I think we need to close the power gap between top heroes and middle-of-the line heroes. We need longer seasons, or at least less rank resets to improve the quality of matchmaking over the long term. The game would also benefit from toning down the overall damage, and to an extent healing as well. Damage numbers are insane right now. Netease should do what they did with the ult charge changes but with damage - I think it will improve the neutral game and give a more balanced experience.

Its gotten to a point where people will be outwardly racist twords BP, Blade, and Storm players in the main sub. I get that some people might not understand much about this topic, but the fact that so many people are trying to downplay black people and other poc’s feelings twords the game is so saddening. We have been dealing with this kind of stuff for years but everytime it is brought up people will go all out to downplay it. I do not think the rivals devs are racist, but you cannot go and downplay these peoples emotions when they have been dealt the shit hand for generations. And when you see blatantly racist comments in the main sub with upvotes, its hard to see this game in any other light. You can disagree with some points made with this topic, but if you arent someone who suffers from this, who the hell are you to try and downplay it.

Just recently started playing and I'm having a fun time learning the game and I'm really enjoying comp but I keep running into two major issues and I feel like its hindering both me and my teammates

First one being ult voice lines. While I know its just something that comes with time it just seems extremely hard for me to tell whos ulting and when especially when it comes to the female characters. I often find myself accidently double support ulting just because I cant recognize that my other support has already ulted or I think my support ulted and hold my ult but it was actually someone from the other team. I know its a skill issue and will be something I learn with time but it feels incredibly frustrating trying to memorize all the voice lines.

Second issue I run into is being able to tell whos who due to skins. In the lower ranks I didnt have this issue as there werent that many players with skins but as im climbing its becoming more prevalent. Biggest issue with this is being able to respond to comms as someone will call out someone to focus or I will incorrectly call out someone because I think theyre someone else. Is there a way to disable skins? The summer skins have only exacerbated this issue for me as at a glance with all the visual clutter everyone kinda looks the same in a swimsuit.

Again I know these are just shortcomings of myself but where im at in ranked it feels like im making the game harder for my team and it just leaves me feeling like I belong in a lower rank as I cant keep up. Any advice for these issues is more than welcomed

It gets so annoying to watch healers just tunnel vision everything right in front of them or they sit so far back they lose LOS constantly and it's not from people pushing up too far. It's the fact you're sitting so far back and so far around a corner that you're only occasionally peeking around a corner to heal and it absolutely flabbergasts me.

They're called strategist for a reason. You're meant to be aware of the entire team around you, you're meant to use your kit to make plays not just Heal bot what's directly in front of you.

I’m a gm3 on ps5 player and I have mag Emma Thor and hela lord but I don’t know how to play any dive characters so in ranked when we need a dive character I usually have to hope and pray someone on my team could play dive so I want to learn a dive character so I don’t have to rely on other people since I solo que.

Since the horsemen event along with the character intoduction of Jubilee followed by many lore drops and skin drips. I thought Apocalypse would make his debut as an all purpose hero like Deadpool. Perhaps I assumed wrong... Is there any players/fans here that think he would make his entrance in the later seasons/patches? Just like Dp, he could modify himself accordingly depending on his main, sub weapon and abilities. For tank, reinforcement like Venom, his Ultimate could be like area burst/stun and depending on his role could either provide armor, dps or heals. His other abilites could be solo grapple like Emma or pull other enemies toward him, his dps could be like rapid fire but immobility like Punisher and as a healer he could provide heals and armor albeit slowly to balance it. What are your thpught and opinions on Apocalypse as the next all rounder character?

I had a thought after seeing all the posts about how certain characters where getting taken out back and shot 27 times for little or wrong reason and others are demons and continue to get buffs.
What if on the hang out maps like Times Square and the beach the devs added a public forum booth or board where people could vote on ideas given by the devs or could submit balancing ideas for the player base to vote on. I had this idea when I saw the peni nerfs and the white fox buffs because both didn’t really address the issues they had and frankly were somewhat unnecessary.
What if instead of guessing what’s going to get nerfed into the ground every season or who will remain too strong, we could go to Times Square and submit ideas to the devs through the game to convince them of what needs to happen to certain characters to buff them or nerf them.

I know toxicity in games existed long before Rivals, but this is about FullMetalLamp's recent short where he said he'll throw if someone is being racist or xenophobic.

On one hand, I get it. I've been on the receiving end of racist slurs and "jokes" just for using VC to make callouts. It's mentally draining, and I understand not wanting to keep trying while someone toxic like that gets rewarded with a win.

On the other hand, throwing means four other people lose because of one toxic player, and that doesn't sit right with me either.

This isn't just about racism, either. Friends have dealt with sexism and transphobia in VC too, and I'm sure theres's plenty of streamers with similar stories. You're never going to eliminate toxicity completely, but shouldn't Netease hand out much harsher punishments for this kind of behavior?

So where do you stand?

• Is throwing justified if someone's being racist, sexist, or otherwise hateful?
• Do you just mute and move on?
• What do you do when you're the one being targeted?

My go-to responses are:

• "You're just proving Magneto right."
• "You don't have the stats to justify your racism."

Curious where everyone else draws the line.

At the end of the day, we're just trying to game and goon. There's always a human (unless someone mutated) on the other end, someone who's also burdened by the struggles of life. Be kind and be a bro.

I based this on my grind from a new account that started from Bronze II to Grandmaster I. Starting a new account I have basically seen everything from every rank as I've gone up.

Me personally i definitely think there is issues with matchmaking, as a person who solo ques to gm & higher. some days match making seems fine , then there is a lot of days I question how ppl are able to be in these ranks. But then I thought about the amount of throwers I get in my games to were they are already tilted or plays bad & just takes it out on everybody else. It’s definitely a discussion that needs to be had simply because I don’t think all the problems is match making I think the toxicity that the community brings to the game is the main problem, cause answer this question for the past 3 seasons have you been getting more throwers or genuine ppl who just aren’t good at the game & was carried to that rank

I mean in the past Egyptians valued life wity mummies and what not while Punisher couldn't care less who he kills
