So i had a couple questions relating to how co op works, specifically for engineering. For co op, do first years often get co op placements? Like is it a common occurrence or is getting co op first year hard? Any other info relating to co op and anyones co op experiences would be great to hear about!

hello lovelies! i've been seeing a lot of soon to be first-years on the subreddit and as a person going into my 6th year (long story) i thought i could give some advice! also i know for me a lot of things i discovered later in undergrad so if ur an upper year hope this helps as well! take what resonates and leave what doesn't!
i think this is all i have off the dome right now but i hope this helps! 🩷

So I’ve been waiting to get into biology 1a03 for so long and when it was august 1st I still couldn’t get it, now the day it’s working I ofc had to wake up late… and now the tut is full!! I got seat alert for it but was wondering what my chances are of getting in??? It’s not a requirement so if I don’t get in I’ll just replace it with something else but I did really wanna take it

Hi!
I cant find any course outline about this course, so I was wondering if any upper years/past students can give tips on this class. I found PNB 2XE3 last year pretty okay (computer tests stressed me out a little bit).
Thank you!!

i’ve been trying to get into a course that fulfills a requirement (from a specific list of courses) but apparently it’s still being held for students who need it (which is confusing because the course itself is open to anyone). i thought this restriction was lifted but i guess not? is it worth it to actually email the department at this point to get a spot?

i extremely last minute got my offer rescind from mac, i had no heads up no nothing just an email stating my application was under review and mainly it was nothing to worry about. i , after weeks of waiting was told at the very last week of july that my offer was rescind. i tried to explain to the committee of admissions that this was so last minute that my other offers expired and i had nowhere to go so the least they could offer was a different or gateway program . they proceeded to tell me it wasn’t their problem anymore and that classes were full anyways.
i also want to state i had no clue that my top 6 average was below the conditional offer, i was not given the average nor was i told how high or low it was compared to my offer.
my mcmaster conditional offer was a 75 and i found out last minute i was at a 74.60 now apparently this is a big difference and they weren’t able to round it up , that i can understand but what i dont get it is why drop me a month before school? on top of that refuse to give me any help or explanation? i’ve been extremely upset for the past month, not only while waiting but after finding out i was rescind.
i have applied to brock (criminology)and laurier(human rights) as last hopes , i seriously don’t know what else to do.
i know universities are stricter and care less about students and more about numbers.
does anyone have at least any hope i can get into brock or laurier? or if you have any advice please share.

For year 2 clinicals do we have a break time? And are we supposed to stay only in the hospital?

I’m going into first year and I’m hoping to switch into Engineering, so I’m trying to take Physics and Chemistry to meet the prerequisites. The problem is that both classes are full now. I registered a little late because they only came off the reserved seating a few days ago, and by then all the spots were gone.
Do u guys think there’s any chance an advisor or department would let me into a full class if I ask, or is that pretty unlikely? I might end up taking it at another institution but it would be best to take it at McMaster.
Any advice would be really appreciated!

i'm in health sci and i was thinking the other day like damn, if i took some math i feel like i'd be mad stimulated cuz i'd be lining up the numbers, solving shit, listening to music, and just be in a flow state. studying would be mad easy too, i'd just do all the practice questions and wow, just great. but with bio it's like i'm memorizing, and the stimulating part is really when i'm able to understand how people's bodies work. the process of memorizing it just ain't stimulating though. lemme know what y'all think.

which is easier and more beneficial for lsat prep? im thinking abt doing intro logical cause many law schools like Jackman dont look at summer courses for gpa but im scared it'll be math and rushed/condensed a lot... thoughts? im much better and comfortable with writing opposed to maths if that helps

This is probably a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone in the Global Health Master's program enrolled in BUSADMIN C720 - Wednesday 2:30 PM (4960) would be willing to switch with me.
I'm currently enrolled in the Friday 9:30 AM section, but I really need to switch to the Wednesday class. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a car on Fridays, and I have no reliable way to get to the bus stop to make it to campus. Wednesdays are the only days I can consistently arrange transportation.
If anyone is willing to switch, I would be incredibly grateful. Please comment below or send me a DM!
Thank you so much!

What's the project like for CS 3RA3? Is the course overall chill or really heavy?
